    Well done, MHags.

    Pleasures for today (Saturday, still!)

    1) Managed to get up in plenty of time - in fact we all woke up and got up by 4.30!

    2) Fed hens very early, to their surprise.

    3) 2 helpful chaps at Paddington station. And several extremely unhelpful members of staff. We got off the big train, put our tickets in the machine to leave our platform - and only 1 was returned! So we could not go through the next barrier to get on the Heathrow train. Sorting this out took 30 minutes...

    4) Got to Heathrow and bigger son said, "I know where I'm meeting everyone now so goodbye" and turned and was gone. I've had quite a few messages since then and he had one hour's free internet FROM THE PLANE! There was an incident (of course!) where a man had to be forcibly restrained on the floor... He screamed and shouted for half an hour which was distressing to the other passengers and was being "held at the back of the plane", according to bigger son. Not violent but an illegal immigrant.

    5) Enjoyed watching the flight progress using Flight Radar. He's in Qatar now, waiting for the Nepal plane.

    6) Had a nice walk from Paddington to the V and A. I'd never really been to Hyde Park before but it seems to have everything you could wish for! Saw the Shard and the London Eye in the distance.

    7) Watched Casualty.

    Well done Mhags

    Saturday pleasures,

Boiled egg with marmite soldiers for breakfast.

A very warm & sunny day, time spent in the garden reading and pottering.

Had a lesson on the beautiful grey one, boy was it hot to be riding but she was a good girl and we worked through a dressage test.

Having a cool shower when I got home from the yard and putting a summer dress on.

Alas the footie was not meant to be and tbh the game wasn’t up to much but on the whole Capt S was chuffed with his team’s season and I guess that’s what matters.

Frith and Mhags good both sons are keeping in touch so far.
DFV - I didn't know the rule about free filter coffee at Starbucks but I will remember.

    1. Met a friend for a coffee and a walk round a local garden with free entry. Some lovely areas but others in dire need of attention.

    2. Hot and sunny. Enjoyed the sun.

    3. Watched the rugby - shame about the result. Though I enjoyed the match.

    4. Watching the hens in the garden. They suddenly all decide to run to the other side of the garden.

    5. Had tea out in the garden. A spitfire flew over with D day markings on it so not the usual one we see. DH was obviously with me otherwise I wouldn't have known.
  • lunch out at the local tea rooms DIVINE!!!

A walk round the lake to settle lunch down a bit and the carp in there were right up against the bank feeding, all bubbles and fins out of the water.

The heron, standing so totally still that until he spooked and flew away to the other side of the lake we hadn't noticed him standing in the vegetation on the lake edge, and he was less than 5 feet away!

Hot and cold running sparrows between the bird table and their usual tree in next doors garden.

DD1 just rang to see if they can call in for a cuppa later on, Oh yes, I'll make scones too, how lovely!

    Hello
Bedtime. Though bedtime was almost 7.15pm as I was so tired but I set a wee alarm call for 15 minutes and had a nana nap!

A catch up with washing kind of day. After a wet start it dried up and very blowy so washings out and in dry. Hurrah! I hate wet washing hanging when I'm not putting the heating on.

Caught up on all things Corrie...finally!

Went into work this afternoon to trial new oven. Made white chocolate and raspberry muffins and apple and cinnamon muffins. I will be making muffins and scones each morning. Oven was perfect. Cakes were too! I was actually a bit nervous as I'd 'bigged' up my baking ability and thought do not disappoint...and they didn't so phew!

Did a bit of sorting out . Then DD walked down and I finished up. Nipped into T and got some very RTC salady things and an RTC hydrangea. Just needed a big drink.

Home by 5pm ( earliest this week) and I had chicken Kiev and salad.

Just had a chat with friend..its been a whole 12 hours since we'd spoken for an hour!

DD - I need someone to come round and play piano solos when I'm upset - I can supply the piano!

    Pleasures for today (Sunday)

    1) I was woken at 5.40am by my phone chirruping. I don't think the 4.5 hour time difference had occurred to bigger son ;-) I've had various messages and photos throughout the day. He is shocked by what I can only describe as the infrastructure. He hasn't really seen how the poverty affects people's lives yet but the lack of tarmacked roads, the wiring (!), cars and motorbikes all over the place and the airport (one control tower made from corrugated tin) has caught his eye. He seems happy and has tomorrow free before travelling for 2 hours to his "posting" on Tuesday.

    2) Smaller son fell asleep during the football last night so I woke him up this morning after 14 hours sleep.

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Changed all the beds and did loads of washing.

    5) Went out with my sister and niece to a local environmental centre where we watched Vikings fighting, made things from willow and tried some vegan food (various organisations had stalls).

    6) Made kedgeree for tea.

    A few for the weekend.

1 We went across to the next market town, lots of new traders, we snaffled a rather large carboard box full of on the vine cherry tomatoes, half will be dehydrated, half will be used as we eat them all the time. I do wonder why I bother trying to grow them when we can get them like that.

2 I picked up a new outfit from a CS, a tye dye top that looked a lot better on, and a pair of trousers with sparkly flowers embroidered and diamant!d on.

3 Today, I gardened pretty much all day long, planted up some plants lovely purple flowers that smell of cherries, and weeded mainly a lot.

4 Re filled all the bird feeders.

5 Used up leftovers for dinner. And cooked up some RTC snorkers to go with.

    1. For the third day running went to look round a garden. This time with DH. It was busy but enjoyable and the woodland part was quiet.

    2. Lovely day warm and sunny. There was an odd drop of rain but that was all.

    3. DH finished paving an area in the garden. I will put some alpine in the spaces he left for me.

    4. Had a bbq and both DS were there. It was still warm enough at 7 even if next door had gone in complaining it was cold.
