    Pleasures for today (Wednesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son's various war wounds now look a bit better. Good old antibiotics!

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Bigger son and I went out for a cup of tea.

    5) Went for tea at my sister's house - another goodbye meal!

    6) Took bits and pieces back that MrA had left behind. Added a magazine I had finished with and some tomato plants I'd grown from seed. Left it in his porch (he was in but at the back of the house so didn't see us. I was slightly relieved).

    7) Have been watching First Dates in bed. It's so cold!

    1. Bus on time going to work. Had to wait at a bus stop so we wouldn't arrive too early.

    2. Had a talk with a colleague who was very upset about work issues. I think she felt better after our talk.

    3. Didn't get too wet waiting for bus in way home.

    4. DS2 cooked risotto for tea. Which was good.

    5. Watched the football on and off whilst sorting out a cupboard. DS2 pleased with result.

    Wednesday pleasures,

Fast day ( doing 5:2 Frith ) so no breakfast but not well planned as was exercising the beautiful grey one and I was starving by the end.

She was well behaved for her Mum if a little on her toes. Despite only saying 15 degrees in the car it felt much warmer and a tad muggy.

A Laburnum in full bloom, beautiful.

Embraced my inner warrior princess and stood up to the grumpy BT engineer who had parked his van up on the verge and effectively blocked my gate, if he had apologised wouldn’t have said anything but his sneering face tipped the balance and he got some. The van was moved ;)

Gammon shank with roasted cauliflower for tea.

    Morning all :)

    Pleasures for last few days:

    1. Parents still managing - am with them full time in the daytime now.

    2. We seem to be eating very well and I'm finding different things to cook that we all can eat (parents are meat eaters, I'm not) and last night's supper was particularly good (if I say so myself).

    3. Discovered Summer of Rockets on iplayer late last night.

    4. DS1 is being great at keeping our own house tidy and washed up while I'm busy elsewhere.

    5. Stopped off at the allotment very briefly last night just to check it before it got dark and there's loads of poppies that have appeared in the flower beds. Very pretty.

    Have a good Thursday

  • The decorator has got all of the first coat on the dining room today and it's looking sparkling white and clean and fresh. He comes back tomorrow to finish and it's going to be exactly how I wanted it.

A good morning in the shop, very busy and I worked at pricing and putting out into the shop non stop from 9 to 1.30 and as fast as I got things on the rails and shelves people bought them, fantastic for the
Hospice and the donations came in constantly so it didn't look as though I'd done a thing!

Tea when I got home, lots of cups and home made soup and cold chicken for lunch, almost human again after that.

A treat in prospect for tomorrow so contemplation is the pleasure today as I am meeting DD1 and we're off to Cheltenham for the day, something we've not done for ages and I shall really enjoy having her to myself for a few hours.

HWK drove the car for the first time since his op, not far only from here to the allotment and back but he had no discomfort and thinks we might be able to get out to one of the local garden centres on Saturday for a cup of coffee, oh how I've missed that!

Hello from land of much wet! Enough. You can switch the rain off now!

Awake early ...tick. Up and at 'em ...tick

Quick dog walk met his lady friends who he wasn't overly friendly with but I thinks it's because they had their rain coats on!

Work! For 9am. Till 5pm. Had a fab day ! Got to make coffee ( trialling beans with a new supplier) and I was just in my happy place! It's been a while. Then unpacking and pricing gifts. Got my lunch of a salad roll bought for me.

Just grabbed a Chinese take away for tea. Normally our Friday tea but son going on his travels tomorrow.

Home. My dog boy oh how I missed you. He has his big sister for company.

Quick chat on phone to my sister.

Have the work waffle maker home so just going to practise making waffles! I may be some time :)

1 We are property hunting and we now have a few listed, my absolute favourite on paper has only just come onto the market, I will have to wait and hope it’s not snapped up as it would be over budget. Next up a map out of where they are and how feasible they are.

2 Mowed the front and back lawn, in anticipation of what sounds like a lovely weekend to be sitting in it, and rather hoping that the building that’s going on next door won’t be happening over the weekend.

3 There needs to be some freezer diving done, I’ve meal planned again, tonight will be build it yourself chicken and turmeric rice wraps.

4 I picked up 3 pairs of summer trousers from CSs while away, meant for the tallest people ever, DH took them up and re did them on the sewing machine, they were all £2 each, 2 pairs of them embrace my not so inner hippy apparently with bright colours.

5 I spent a long time (most of the day) dragging the house into some sort of cleaner and tidier than it was when I started just about.

A bonus one, Went to an exercise class this evening, it always feels good to have achieved it.

PK having said to email him he never replied so no coffee date (frith does this sound familiar at all?!). On the positive side this is the first man i have asked out since marriage break-up 6 1/2 years ago so i am deciding this is progress. onward and upward. my horoscope says 'don't take everything personally. often it has nothing to do with you. see if you can be more detached' which i am embracing to the full (to those of you late to the story of DundeeDoll xoh had gender reassignment, hence female pronouns for xoh and my being straight)
    1) a bit of a roller-coaster day far as emotions go. xoh arrived last night. I had two meeting first thing at work but met her after for a coffee (oh so i got my coffee date after all lmao)
    2) then home for left over chinese for lunch yum
    3) lots of decluttering and cleaning - one load to dump, another for the CS, found the adapter socket for my electric toothbrush
    4) xoh hung the pictures (i am totally useless at DIY) and mended my jacket lining (i am totally useless at sewing)
    5) celebrated with fish suppers all round
tomorrow we see the bank. i have warned the consultant i may be emotional - we've had a joint account for 35 years. but totally time to move on.
    MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

DD - yes, 2 so far who have dithered about then disappeared!

    Pleasures for today (Thursday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son's antibiotics still working, to the point that he can just about manage without the elaborate multi-layer dressings!

    3) Hens well and I cleaned their sleeping quarters out.

    4) Spent ages in the garden. Planted out sunflowers and sweet peas (grown from seed) and threw 3 packets of mixed cottage garden seeds around. Weeded, tidied, trimmed the honeysuckle that had grown half over the window! Took the bay tree from its enormous pot (felt it deserved it after 20 years!) and have put it in the raised bed. All soil as dry as a bone.

    5) Cooked gammon for tea (roast veg etc) with plenty for broccoli cheese tomorrow and some left for muffins to eat on the train on Saturday.

    6) Helped bigger son pack (he's staying at the girl-who-is-not-his-girlfriend's tonight).

    7) Started having a good tidy up (will continue in earnest when bigger son has gone) so hoovered, sorted, tidied plus cleaned the fridge out.

    8) My brother came round for a game of Settlers of Catan.

    9) Watched Ambulance.

Annoyingly, went in the village shop and they said, "Oh, a man came in saying HIS son is going to Nepal too!". Turns out my ex husband was on the prowl and is going round telling everyone how distraught he will be... Though he has seen bigger son twice this year, had no part whatsoever in preparing for Nepal and hasn't seen smaller son since 2017!
