Sunday pleasures,
Bit of a rough night with bad dreams so up early and took small dog out for a walk around the fields, cleared my head and the air was full of birdsong.
Lovely sunny day so time spent in the garden, cleared part of a border that had been looking tired for a while and it’s now ready for new plants, it gets a lot of sun so am doing my research.
Sun was pleasantly warm on my back as I dug and felt good after so many cold & wet days.
Dozing on the sofa as the last day of the PL played out, it’s been a mighty tussle.
Curtains open until 9pm so saw Mr & Mrs Bat flying past.0 -

3 lovely weather yesterday ,got 5 lots of washing dry ,cut grass.
4supportive phone calls from friends and families ,there is nothing anyone can do ,but knowing they (and you )are there helps.

A cotoneaster bush absolutely abuzz with honey bees on the footpath as I walked to the shop for a morning session today.
Ruby the terrier is with us today and we've just been for a nice walk round our local arboretum.
Got the Health and safety talk and Operating Procedures talk at the shop. the pleasure is that it's over.
Posh wild boar and damson sausages for supper tonight with some savoury rice, broccoli and carrots.
I just ate a very naughty but very delicious Lindor orange bar.....I don't often sin to that extent but when I do.....I enjoy it immensely!0 -
Curry night out on sat.
Told something personal to a friend and she is opening up more to me in return.
Seeing my children in company. They are lively and sociable.0 -
My friend is planning a movie night for us using a sheet and projector in garden.
One bloke at meal was telling story about his stag night over 20 years ago. Large group of them went to hotel and covered him naked in cling film round a pillar. When his MIL saw photo she said ‘no daughter of mine is marrying a man with a xxxxx as small as that...’0 -
Pleasures for yesterday (so far as I can remember!)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Took bigger son to Go Ape then walked the red route round the forest.
3) Hens well.
4) Went on the allotment and planted: sweetcorn, courgettes, pumpkins and sunflowers. This leaves chillies, tomatoes and melons for when I get the greenhouse organised.
5) Tasty casserole for tea.
Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep. Haven't had enough good sleeps recently!
2) Did various jobs round the place during the morning.
3) We were not sure smaller son would actually go to any GCSE exams... I had to laugh a bit at the increasingly frantic phone calls, emails then texts from school checking - to each I had to reply, "He is still asleep..."
Got him to school 20 minutes before his first exam - RE. I texted his specialist autism teacher to say he was on the premises and, for the first time ever, in his relief he forgot all professionalism and texted me back "Hahahahahaha!" This made me laugh for some time!!
4) I sat in Sainsburys while the exam was on and had 2 pots of tea and read my book.
5) Drove smaller son home and sat in the garden in the sunshine and finished my book!
6) Made meatballs for tea.
7) Stuck to the Blood Sugar Diet all day. Day one (again) and I feel shocking now.
8) Had a walk in the forest with bigger son who is now gearing up to going to Nepal...
9) Messages from... ooo, what letter shall we choose him? Mr X :-)0 -
Bedtime...well past bedtime actually but have been chatting on phone to friend...only spoke to her for an hour and a half last night!
A beautiful day again. Up early. Walked friends daughter to school. Met allotment chap chatted to him. Randomly starting chatting to an older lady as we waited to cross the road and then met my friend out walking her dog so much chatting then! Finally got home about 40 minutes later than I would have done!
Picked up 3 empty cans and 4 empty plastic bottles. Grrrr!
Took niece out for lunch in her town . Had a very nice tuna toastie.
Bought a nice red vest top in a charity shop.
Home. Quick doggy walk. Then library bus. Had only read one but borrowed two...I'm nothing if not optimistic each time!
Made a risotto for tea with some frozen gammon and veggies . Rather yummy.0 -
