Another one here DD who seems to be living in the land that Ernie forgot!
Saturday pleasures,
A Lie-in and no backache :j
Moved lamps around and come the evening I liked the difference it made to our main room.
All my books seem to be about Norfolk, last week it was Tombland and now it’s the next one in the series by Elly Griffiths.
A robin having his evening bath in an old pot saucer.
Snorkers and beans for tea, followed by a couple of cheeky squares of dark chocolate.0 -
A good day.
1. Long conversation with a friend in the phone.
2. Some time spent in the garden.
3. Went to look round Wisley which looked lovely. We went as DH wanted to have a quick look at the work on MIL house. It's coming on well.
4. DS1 is planning a couple of evenings out.
5. Meal out with friends. Food was good and an evening spent chatting and laughing.0 -
It was a very lazy Sunday indeed, except now I am sitting here looking at the ceiling thinking hmm I have to finish that tomorrow.
1 We watched a few movies and plan on watching the 1926 Buster Keaton movie “The General” tonight.
2 A washing load is on.
3 I spent hours just playing with the animals, I am more worn out than they are.
4 Yesterdays takeaway is earning it’s expense by being this evenings tea as well.
5 Planted up a lot of falling over seedlings, and added tidying out the greenhouse to next weeks to do list.0 -

Pleasures for today (Sunday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Dropped bigger son off at Go Ape and did not walk the red route but went for a general wander in the forest. Saw 3 deer, including one albino. Turned out to be an almost 2 hour walk!
3) Saw second mum and dad on my return walk. We've been invited to their second son's 50th birthday party in October. :-)
4) Cleaned the hens' sleeping quarters out.
5) Bacon sandwiches for lunch.
6) Conquered washing up mountain and a load of washing.
7) Played the piano for a while.
8) Kedgeree for tea.
9) Spent the evening at MrA's, including geocaching. :-)0 -
Good morning and it's Monday already! Heading to hospital in 30 minutes as DD2 has surgery today. I hate the leaving them part. And the part of waiting to hear it's all gone well. Hopefully just in and out today though.
Sunday was to be a day of much productivity...'cept it wasn't so much! Started with good intentions...does that count?
Did manage to Hoover stairs and bedrooms!
Had a late morning snooze when I was reading. Then I was reading. Then the niecelys turned up. Then they were going out for lunch so then we just joined them. Then that was by now late afternoon when I got back.
Then went out for an hour with the dog and the boy child. I think I've found my new to me walk. Was missing my farmers fields now a roadway!
I'd cooked a gammon joint as id taken it out of freezer and it had been a RTC use that day one so didn't want to leave it defrosted and uncooked. DS and DD picked at that then went for ice cream.
Read some more whilst procrastinating over what was still to be done...so nothing was done!
Have a good day:)0 -

Positive thoughts for Mhags DD
Sunday pleasures,
Early morning cuddles with small dog.
Tried a new recipe for slow cooked pork, delicious and good for the BSD.
The decadence of a bath in the middle of the day while the above was cooking.
Popped over to see PP, she was hightailing around her paddock when I walked up and was like a kite on the end of the rope on the way back, spring fever
Eldest hollow legged one came over so good to catch up on his life.0 -
No Sue, yous always has to be on the edge, that is how we decide which side to fall on. Jenny sends a :heartpuls
ERNIE. He rode the milkcart did he not?
Yes, at the mill another box has been ticked off and we can be more compliant than we weres this time last year. They’ll be getting the orange juice and fizzy water out in humane remains. Meanwhile in the boiler house we just sweat about it!
Cannot believe that is coming up now for 37 years since I saw the BBC news. Well the recall was on Good Friday and we were still many weaks from Black Buck one. Boys became men.
Good to see so many have adorned the street with returning decorations and associated nick-nacks since Soldier F Campaign. My vets club are still in angst over the way this has been treated. Again MSM ignores, as it has ignored most over the years? When wes weres recently over the pond, on main stream US TV there was a contest for a wedding. Two enlisted army personnel were the winners? In the UK we treat our veterans with disdain. My vets club are thinking about the upcoming AFD and attendance.
Taxman was quick to remind me that I can do me self-assessment. Nice of him! AVOID! No not the taxman, but the scammers. BuckFace appears to have some shysters around!
Yesterday for dinner BoP did salmon with rushy peas, not available inn the emporiums! That’s be yous marrowfat peas boiled to soft, then just at the end, throw inn some garden peas! Bet yous has not! Minted new tatties were also had.
Still having problems with BoP beach ready look, so it is full on at the gym the moment! Could be on show at The Corner house in May. Details soon!
Nows we has all the bits inn to do the front room shortly, so here goes with the can!
Having one later, wes gots some mini choco ice lollies and they are too good to keep inn the freezer!
Now try it. Just checked on the tax site for TFL. The ULEZ site and put in me old man’s motor, Ford Cortina from the 1960’s. It says no charge! It was totalled by me dad years ago! Guess theres goings to be some teething problem!
Let that be another box ticked off on your version of the ‘Life of BoP!’0 -
6 weeks since I last posted, can't believe how quickly the time goes. There must be something to this 'retirement' thing that I'm missing!
A big pleasure today is finding the time to catch up on your posts and reading all the interesting stories about your families, work, ups and downs.
Grateful thanks to my daughter and friends whose dogs of all shapes and sizes I visit/visit me, I shan't have another one since losing my 18 y/o lad a year ago but I do have lots of doggy contact which makes me happy. Meanwhile I have to remain content with Mr Finnegan, the evil tabby who has presented me with two dead rats within the last week.
Not quite a pleasure but grateful thanks to the NHS for keeping my ticker going. 2 stents last year which in turn have helped get oxygen to my lungs, a further angiogram and an upcoming FFR in May. We're so fortunate we still have a free health service but feels like I'm rapidly using up my allowance! However I didn't invite these things in my life so they have to live with me, not the other way round.
My white lilac tree, Madame Lemoine, which I thought had bloomed its last is budding like mad and promises to be one of the best years ever. Garden shopping this week so looking forward to lots more colour to go with what's out there now.
DS's wedding plans are forging ahead, only another 5 weeks now. Where has the last year of planning gone?! This is the lull before the storm, just the last checks to do before the mad final week of dress/church rehearsal, grooms parents dinner, flowers etc., etc. The reception venue is a floating village at a wildfowl reserve, let's hope it's not a blustery day!
The Durrells. A shame it's the last series but for now I will enjoy watching.0
