Good evening. It's been a beautiful day here but what a cold wind! Good for the never ending washing.

Early morning hospital. I was allowed to stay with DD until it was time for anaesthetic. Apparently this is not the norm but she's young. She said she overheard one of the other women ask why I was there and the nurse said because she's a child. She's 19 so technically an adult but today she just needed her mum by her side and her mum just needed to be by her side for as long as she could.

The whole going into a hospital thing kind of upsets my equilibrium. It's not where OH ever had any treatment ...gosh not even the same continent but it just triggers all sorts of memories and feelings and the not having your partner to share your worries as a parent too...because he would understand exactly how I felt.

Anyway she's home, she's sore...she has a succulent instead of usual flowers and a card and as luck would have it her convalescing gift of jim jams arrived from Australia from her sister today! She's not slept yet which I wish she would but hopefully will tonight.

Other pleasures included straight home through green lights and clear roundabouts!

    The dog!

Hoovered, cleaned bathrooms , washed floors, ate chocolate...all to keep busy! Sorted all my flowers out. Doggy walks in the sun.

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens well and I started sorting the inside of the new greenhouse.

    3) Various jobs done around the house (it rained most of the day).

    4) Purple sprouting and kale flowers for lunch (from MrA), stir fried with soy sauce, ginger and garlic - v good!

    5) Brother popped round for board games after lunch.

    6) My dad was very ill in the afternoon (poor breathing and rigors) and was driven in to see the GP but is recovering on antibiotics. He has a chest infection. Interestingly, he has never had one before. He has now been in heart failure for 25 years, which is nearly impossible. Went to see him and we watched University Challenge.

    7) Watched most of 24 Hours in Police Custody so will just watch the end now then listen to Unbelievable Truth. Time for a fresh hot water bottle.

    PSB Frith, he’s a keeper :)

    Monday pleasures,

Woke to a lot of mist which deadens the usual traffic noise from the bypass.

Mist soon cleared and washing dried outside.

The clematis which climbs up the side of the big shed has so many buds on it, we didn’t have any flowers last year thanks to my over enthusiastic pruning!

Getting in my car to head to the yard and the thermostat said 18.5 degrees, good to feel warm and not need a coat.

Veggie tea of bean burgers with cauliflower hash.
  • Sparra’s back, that means the winter migration is over and spring is in the air!
DD it is not a fridge raid at BoP Palace, is a Bitser, that is when all the bits from the fridge are made into something good! Proper food though!

Just yesterday I wrote about the start of operation corporate. And I can still remember the tone in the crew room when the silence was broken and the action became real. The weekend of 1st May is interesting. Now just heard the news that Ian McDonald has died. He was the man who delivered the news from the Ministry. How I remember that moment on the 2nd, when someone muttered ‘There goes but one of ours’.

So I continues to read mes prisoner book, nows it is on abouts Saladin. How he took Jerusalem and did not hold people hostage! Just got a quarter of the weigh through! I hope to finish before next Vets Breakfast. Prisoner of War, by Major Pat Reid.

Dids yous knows I also dips in to Sam’s Dairy as well! Tells you about it shalls I? Well this day he feasted on a barrel of oysters and a breast of veal. He was very merry!

Shovel master has called me in to talk about pennies. We has not got the right note! Ball is inn their court. More later! Please send wobbleade chits to BoP to bolster my end of the negotiations. Usual BoP rules. I is correct!

Now with the beach ready look, BoP is at the gym tonight. Soon appearing in the ‘Corner House’, details soon! Details of up and coming BoP tours soon. BoPsie is still getting over San Francisco!

I hear the shooting ducks have been removed from the counter! Such a shame that no one complains about the tacky evil costumes for All Saints Eve?

Well how well that describes your version of the ‘Life of BoP!’ It is hard work living up to it!

Evening all - yet again, it's been a while. Not as long as Sparra though :p Lovely to see you Sparra

I am here in ICT trying to wrestle with my thesis and pull all the bits together. I thought being here would keep me from being too distracted, which kind of works. Especially yesterday when the weather was foul.

    Pleasures recently:

    1. lovely coast path walk on Saturday. beautiful weather and not too difficult. A good novelty having Ceri the dog with us
    2. Out for a posh meal on Saturday night to celebrate OH's 60th and upcoming retirement.
    3. Another good walk on Sunday - only about 6 miles this time, Saturday's was 14
    4. Breakfast at steam railway. lish veggie sausages
    5. Nice to see the inlaws for the weekend, without the MiL. I know that seems cruel but when she is there it is kind of all about her. Generally we split MiL duty so rarely see each other
    6. Nice to see inlaws and dog leave though :rotfl: and get our house back
    7. Having the space to crack on with the work - even if I haven't quite cracked the final format yet...
    8. walks by the sea
    9. simple food, easy to prep and meat free. hopefully I might lose a pound or two
    10. sleeping well - hopefully more of it. I am here until Monday on my own, so can't be woken by OH's snoring.

    Have a nice evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    For past couple of days

    1. Time spent in the garden. A flower bed weeded and looks much better.

    2. My flowers inside.

    3. DS2 cooking as I don't feel like it as my cold has developed and feel tired by the evening.

    4. Surviving work and friend gave me a lift.

    5. Bus driver was very helpful yesterday and let me get off nearer home.

Bedtime! But first I had to make the bed! I said about 4pm ...I must go make my bed but got waylaid then at 10pm groaned...I need to make my bed!

It's been a beautiful day. Bright and sunny though a cool wind. Excellent for drying washing.

Whilst keeping an eye on DD2 who is okay but just sore and can't get comfy.

Dog walks. Couple of short ones and one long one which found me up to my ankles in mud. This causes terror in me in case I sink right up to my neck...I didn't of course but what a horrid feeling. Boots are still outside the front door!

    Cut the grass.

Planted some seeds. Some in pots and some straight into soil. Pots now on big window sill in extension.

Sorted out what's to go to allotment (hopefully tomorrow) and can go straight in soil.

Started a new library book having stayed in bed until I finished the other one this morning.

Made lentil soup. Chopped up some veg for freezer and rest of gammon joint chopped and bagged and in freezer.

Had soup and RTC lovely bread for tea.

    Lovely sunset.

Lovely chat with friend as she'd been away for weekend so caught up on all her news.
