    Good morning,

    Dashing off some recent Pleasures......

    1. Got through the first day back at work. Lovely Year 11 group made concrete photo holders. I am really keen to get them making more grown up stuff.

    2. Went to see Colette with a friend. Freebie tickets. We thought it was going to be quite a slow beautifully shot film, but were surprised by the pace of the story. Another good night out!

    3. Got through Tuesday. Always a trial! Made pomanders with Y7 (The Tudors). Very mindful. Painted a life size Spider-Man with Y5. (Superheroes). Organised a cupboard after school.

    4. BBQ pork ribs from Lidl for tea. :)

    5. Sold some things on EBay. Just need the energy to parcel them up!

    Have a lovely day :)

Still reading, if not posting :(

    Tuesday pleasures,

An appliance delivery arrived on time, cheerful chaps and all done very quickly.

Soup made with bendy broccoli and the last smidgen of festive blue cheese, tasty lunch.

Sunny if cold afternoon, good schooling session with PP and then we went for a cool down walk around the paddocks, she was a good girlie.

Watched a downloaded programme about Mr Weller’s recent concert at the festival hall, his new album has been added to my wish list.

The final episode of Manhunt followed a good long read in bed.
  • V Get used to it folks, because this is the car crash no one wants! With apologies to DD!

4 Oh well, wes was out inn town last eve to get the food inn for Raffles. Choice cuts and oddments. Wes even got him some new bowls as his old ones were a bit rubbered. There. Also got a glass of wobbleade as well. BoPsie was chatting to old colleagues and left mes to get on with it. Hence the glass of wobbleade.

3 Another packed lunch box today, with not only cakes of Jaffa, two of as BoPsie got four, but in the biscuit tin in the boiler room we had dead fly biscuits. Proper ones from McVite! Also cheese, tangerine, toms and cucumber with jelly, strawbs and oranges! Good for you. Especially the dead fly biscuits.

2 Been weighting all day for this snowball storm to come in and the yellow things is shimmering across the mill’s pond!

Having one today! Nows yous knows that BoP checks his utility fixes and it is good that we are now one weak into the price cap, or sorry, soft ceiling price cap! Soft ceiling, well it is based on an average of how much you could use, but you can use less, or considerably more. I await inn the parish in other areas where people think that was all they are going to pay and get …

Now yous want the BoP Rant, so here goes. On checking on your stitched dot con, all the one man band energy companies were cheaper by £80. Ooops, I get WHD of £120! So I checked out the big six for you! All the current deals are more expensive than the SVR. Not what was intended that. BoP will keep watching for you! Confusing, yous not wrong!

Nows I as a rite nag on the 3:15 at Newmarket. Now I ponder which nag I should get on too! Oh yeah, the taxman ifs he not already taken me to the cleaners. He now reminds mes he wants his penny and me coats as well. No, he can go and swing for it like. Well until the 31st that is. Never pay him early. Did you know that the taxman introduced income tax this day in 1799 as a temporary measure. He’s bin not liked ever since!

Just popped in to wish you all a Very Happy and Peaceful 2019 , I can't believe it's been over a year since I was last here. It's been a busy 12 months, a bit of a roller coaster but much good to counteract the bad.
Sadly lost my step-sister, sister-in-law, a dear friend and my lovely little dog all by the end of Feb so a sad and dismal start. However...

1.My granddaughter gave birth to my great-grandson:heart:, Tommy, in May and of course he's the most adorable little boy! Not yet 8 months old and trying to walk, he's going to be athletic like his Daddy.

2.My son and his partner bought their first home in May, a lovely little house with pretty garden in a village in Lancashire. They've done wonders with it already, it's like a show home at the moment but won't be for long! See 4

    3. I was diagnosed angina in June and had 2 stents in July, thanks to our amazing NHS. It was explained that the right artery carries blood to the lungs and may help my copd, and the results have been unbelievable :). I can now breathe with little effort and even drive oop norf to visit son and family every few weeks .

4.Then in August said son and partner had their first baby , Gracie. She's simply gorgeous! A few weeks prem and a very rocky start but is making up for lost time now. Her Christening is next month, something which seemed doubtful a short time ago so a lovely celebration ahead.

    5. Delighted that my daughter has at last given up the pub after some 16 years, she now has a part-time job in a little cafe and her health has benefited no end :j. She also has time for her crafting, pyrography, decoupage, vinyl record art and so on, doing very well at craft fairs and on line. A huge relief for the family as she was struggling with Lupus but being stubborn like her mother she wouldn't give up until she was ready. Thank goodness for not such small mercies. She's still showing her dogs of course, that's something she'll never give up.

As always my fingers ran away on the keyboard so will just say hope you're all keeping as well as possible, have a good year ahead and hope it won't be another 12 months before I can get back. Now going to read through the last few pages of posts, take care and God bless, sparrer x

Oh sparrer that's just made my day! Come back! Keep posting. I miss you x
Glad all your family and you are doing well :)

It's blooming cold up here! But was a beautiful frosty day. Clear blue sky and a low sun.

Up very early. Got up and embraced the day.

Out and into town first thing for a course. Very interesting. Met new people which is always interesting though chap next to me was full of the cold and snottered his way through the morning!

Had parked at m0rrisons ( free and no time limit) and got some very RTC fruit and veg. Will be there again at same time tomorrow so shall pop back in again.

    Walk with doggy.

Walk with DD1 to T as she wanted some snacks for her flight home. Took a book to the book stall they have there for charity.

Home and a late afternoon snuggle with my dog on the sofa. Kept heating off for as long as I could bear.

We are having takeaway for tea. It's cheaper than going out for a meal. Two more sleeps till my girl goes back home. And Melbourne is her home. And that's quite alright. I'm already eyeing up her bedroom as my laundry drying room again!

Saw snowdrops yesterday down our woods. Trees on my dog walk are starting to bud. I know we still have a stretch of winter to go but our evenings are starting to ever so slightly stretch out again. OH's best friend popped in last night which was good to see him and his dog. Much laughter. Much talking from Haggis, he's very vocal. Not barking but actually as if he's saying something and it's in an Australian accent.

In bed with 2a.m. alarm set for Spits and all-sorts prepped, not well, but done. Cold steady rain and dark scudding cloud was not conducive to sorting, packing, loading.
As always, on verra, with fingers crossed.

    1. Sparrer! How lovely to read your catch-up news, missed as it has been, just like Life:-) Star billing on the health front! Are you still doing your lectures/talks?
I'd say Mrs LW would be very keen on your dog food recipe.

    2. After hours more mucking about through last night, managed booking, so off in a fortnight-ish>March. Sorted small Adelaide stopover en route for several odd, conflicting reasons. Still failing to secure 6wks car-hire, as aotearoa rtn clashes with Chinese New Year. All prices are massively up, but this was inevitable when weeks of connectivity notspot Bleeughh caused problems. I have read T+Cs minutiae to a standstill and see every extra/penalty/skim worked in, but will sort something.

    3. Enjoying R4's afternoon dramt, 'Stone', developing every afternoon. Tense, excellent, crime procedural.

    4. More marmalade underway. As we speak, from bed, there's a large basin of more Seville and lemon halves to scissors. This is a 36hr soak first recipe, so there's time.

    5. Hwb at feet.

    Sweet dreams and pink ice-creams.

Oh, how autocorrect errors annoy &.
    'mixed' not 'missed'.
    'scissor',verb, not 'scissors'.
For some reason, the Edit function doesn't.

Sparrer, it’s great to read your catch up.
Mrs SD, a daily family of 4 squizzels here too.

Loved the final episode of Manhunt.
1 Fed the birds, got the washing on, then brekkie.
2 Onwards and upwards with filler, then telling the animals not to eat it, then masking tape, that took an age, I got the first coat on and I’m really happy with it, but it desperately needs the 2nd coat tomorrow. DH has taken a bit of pity on me as I know, I can’t even draw a straight line, so when he saw the edges of the paint, he said he will do the edges where it meets the ceiling – thank goodness. It looks very bright I am very happy it’s gone from being a can you believe a dark red bathroom to a light bright turquoise.
3 A prize? For decorating, I’m ordering in, DH hasn’t ordered in pizza for a while now, I’m sure there will be a voucher and this one will get us enough points for a free order next time.
4 Time for some reading tonight.
5 Nice to be inside in the warm, and reading your posts.
