Just in from work. Cold feet have reconnected with the rest of me.

    Beautiful day.

Did a bit in garden/building site. Moved sofas. Moved table and chairs and put together a wee bistro table and chair my aunt had given me months ago. It's still a building site but now a building site with furniture. If it stays dry tomorrow ( though rain is forecast) I may make the bold move of cutting what little grass I have left to look a bit tidier. Emptied pots into garden bin. Collection on Thursday.

Welcoming the Robin back into the garden. Quite the regular past few days.

Had to pick up replacement doors and splash back from kitchen supplier.
Returned and refunded a roll of wallpaper.

Builder popped in for second last payment, we are withholding last one until all is done. Electric work still to be completed and re-plastering will need done.

At this point plaster chap hadn't been in touch ( been waiting for 6 days) builder not happy . I told him I was not happy and would be going public with my disappointment shortly. Cue, call from chap. Someone would be up to do my wee bit of remedial work. Wee bit? I don't call 3 rooms worth a wee bit and suggested he came and saw it as requested last week. Told him that I would not be paying for the redecoration of plasterwork. He's coming tomorrow morning:) see how that pans out. It's the whole upheaval and wet plaster and mess and grrrrrr!

Work. I enjoyed it. Different spot tonight. A run home and a generous welcome from my doggy.

There's a very jaunty half moon as I type!

    Night x

    Good Morning Folks,

Thanks for posting a link to the posh loos Ollie.

    1. Waitrose with MoCs. Got the shopping down to below half price. Makes the prices normal :rotfl:

    2. Finally ordered glass for the 'piano desk' we are making at school. This is the last bit we need to finish the project. It will be exciting for the students to see it listed for sale on an auction site.

    3. Got more free crisps and extra packs of sweets for Sweet Sunday's codes. Last day to enter the codes today, but can book ahead for the Grinch and Fantastic Beasts.

    4. Made pie and mash for tea. So nice to have time to cook.

    5. Young Frankenstein and another square of my quilt completed.

    Have a lovely day. :)

Last day at work for colleague. She couldn't cope any longer working in the environment. She doesn't have another job. She is a friend son will be missed at work.

    1. Colleague appreciated the leaving presents i had arranged.

    2. Spoke with my line manager about the email I wrote. I don't think anything will change and not sure if I feel any better but it's been said and she was unaware of several points I raised.

    3. Meal out with colleagues but a select few. Good evening and fairly inexpensive.

    4. Home and watched GBBO.

    5. Reading my book.

I did a MK sort of my clothes a while ago DD and now have a much smaller, but infinitely more useful wardrobe.

    Tuesday pleasures,

Took ourselves into Ely so Capt S can recon possible parking, even in the rain and mist the cathedral looked stunning.

Picked up another set of bedding for the spare room as we have a long term guest.

Chicken broth soup and crusty bread for lunch, perfect on such a cold, wet day.

    Watched GBBO.

Not that I take him for granted but spending time with my beloved, it will be strange not to have him working from home and he will be missed :(
  • V No trouble at mill! Choices? Hairy Norffunner? Scary Suffoner? No, I’ll take both and throw in a lion. Winner takes all! That is how it is inn the mill!!! Note to readers, we don’t use real lion! And that will be the vacancy in the loom room done! Other positions are available and we pay the going rate! Water and bread is provided! Proper food!

4 Had another dollop of the cottage pie last eve and it went all gone! Served with peas and proper pan gravy! Strawbs and vienetta was served up as well!

3 Impromptu film night with a James Garner. Support your local Sherriff! Classic. Had not realised BoPise had not seen it! Wobbleade was consumed.

2 Night is inn the gym getting ready for the next tour of BoP. Getting coat and gloves the weakened for it! Also after that we will get refill of toms and bits from w8rs and partners. Will be good to see all the evil tack going cheap as well!

Having one today! Food waste day! How many pumpkins will end up in the waste, just like the evil that is wasted with them. When you have given out the back of the Charlie 130 food, that went to the fit, to sell to the needy, you don’t waste food! MSF were on the ground long before the Buerke and the club singers lot!

    The lion sleeps tonight!

Plumduff - this too shall pass and all that. hope today is better
DD - well done on the Kondo. I much prefer having fewer clothes. Though it is helped that i don't go out to work every day so can live in jeans / t shirt / hoody a lot of the time

Also looking forward to seeing BoRap - even though I am not a Queen fan

    Pleasures for Monday

    1. Soak in the bath with Episode one of Vanity Fair (Snap, DD)
    2. I didn't go food shopping but made do
    3. Had a bit of a sleep in as sunday was a late one
    4. Got a load of washing hung out - not dried at this time of year but I still like the fresh air to get to it.
    5. Watched the last 'Strangers'. Satisfactory ending, even if it wasn't a thrill a minute to watch.

    and yesterday

    1. Meeting with friend for brunch - good to catch up. She is my 'friend what lives in France in the summer' and is back for the winter
    2. Train to London - did work
    3. workshop on writing - better than I thought and it was good to talk to others in the same boat. i think i am doing this a bit too much alone
    4. Walks to station here and to workshop (London). DD provided the taxi home
    5. Watched epi 2 of Vanity Fair. Only about 7 days to get through it DD

Have a good one folks - have a few bits in for trick and treat. i don't really hold with halloween, but the boy next door is Down's syndrome and is only allowed to go around the close, it seems cruel to say no when he wouldn't understand.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Why do mathematicians get Halloween confused with Christmas Day? Cos OCT31 = DEC25 (funnily enough none of the children so far has told that joke!)
    1) cold but crisp day. started the day with 30 minute chuck. my office is coming on nicely - all surfaces done plus 3 / 7 drawers
    2) bought day ticket for bus as giving talk on city campus. Small but enthusiastic group so tons of lunch as well as fantastic ideas. then back to ninewells for meeting then back to city campus so good value ticket
    3) now home for trick or treaters. Jokes have all been suitably bad. a couple of very good magicians, some dancing, and just now twin gh ou ls playing the bagpipes!!!
    4) supper - left over sarnies from lunch (i of course had an empty lunch box with me)
    5) we're a very well behaved neighbourhood. the main action is 6 - 7:30 and they only call at houses with jack-o-lanterns. i bought a terracota one years ago - still going strong. Then it'll be Vanity Fair episode 3 aiming at one a day vjsmum though out tomorrow night.

  • My five for today are;

    1) I got up at 7, did my exercise dvd and then had a healthy breakfast so a good start to the day.

    2) Spent the morning in my sewing room making Christmas stockings for gifts. I've not been sewing much lately but have to get back into it as I have lots to do for Christmas.

    3) My friend came for lunch and then we went for a walk. Happy to say the sun did make an appearance :)

    4) My friend gave me a pumpkin from her community garden and I'm ashamed to admit that I have NEVER cooked one. What an admission for a 63 year old  Anyway I have now prepared and boiled it and I'm going to make a pumpkin 🎃 pie tomorrow.

    5) I'm just going to watch a soppy romance on Netflix and do some knitting.

    Thanks VJsmum xx

    4. Received 'all clear' letter today. Yes. Thanks given - understatement.

    5. Crocheted on and on and on. Then 260 ends darned in. Now 5 rounds border edging, interrupted by finding I CAN post from mob. again:-)
