Morning! Tis chilly up here! Got the heating on for a wee while.
Yesterday was a day most pleasant.
Watched GN whilst N slept after a night shift. I was constantly shushing ! I did night shift for years and remember struggling to sleep when you were utterly exhausted. GN why do we have to be quiet? Because mummy's sleeping? It seems my niece can sleep through anything and nobody else bothers about tiptoeing!
We had a lovely walk down our lovely woods. It's stunning. We took painted stones and hid them and found a couple of others and re-hid them. Stood and watched a squirrel watching us watching him. Although freezing wind before we left it was obviously more sheltered and was pleasantly warm in the sun.
Met a Shetland pony and owner out for a walk and had a lovely chat. GN just loves all animals.
Met a friend and made arrangements for a night out.
Came home and N was awake so had a nice afternoon.
Made macaroni for tea ( used up all the milk ...son has just tried to have cereal! ) with potato wedges and garlic bread. Our first family meal in the extension. Was lovely to be all together.
Just had a lovely chat with DD1. She's started a new job so we chatted on her way home on train. Only seven weeks till I see her.
Apparently builders are going to crack on and get much done! Ha bloody ha!
Have a wonderful day0 -
Wednesday pleasures,
Received email with daily exercises for poorly knee, good job as my first physio appointment isn’t until 5th November.
Capt S got the job he wanted SO much, it’s been a month long procedure but finally got the phone call yesterday :j
The earlier rain cleared and it was a nice afternoon, pony got out of lunging as pit was flooded so worked in the school, she was a good girl.
Opened a bottle of fizz to celebrate the job news and had it with our snorkers, posh us

Lainey - many congrats to Captain S
On the train to ICT, just to check the place is ok, it's been empty a few weeks and there's been some rotten weather.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Woke early but managed to doze. No Jetlag but my days are a bit about face as we have been waking early and going to bed early
2. Picked up leaves in the garden - managed to fill 1 1/2 bins before the bin men came. We have a mahoosive beach tree in our garden and there's a LOT more to come. Aching muscles today though
3. Delicious coffee and dippy eggs with sourdough toast for brekkie and I made chicken saltimbocca for tea - back to the diet
4. had my hair cut and coloured. The brassiness is gone as have the (very long) roots
5. Coffee with friend and a catch up.
Have a good day all - hopefully three hours on the train will get me back into work mode.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

[STRIKE]Five[/STRIKE] Six for today:
1. Good sleep last night!
2. 'Nathan-sitting' (DGS1) - and had phone message - at 9:05am! - from him to say to meet up in their local Town Centre. He'd decided that he wanted to check out the Hallowe'en Decorations in their Wilkies, but wanted me with him to help choose. He even had his own money to pay for them :T.
3. Afterwards, we went for a tea/coffee in a small cafe in the middle of their indoor shopping centre while we planned the rest of our day. As he'd come to meet me using his younger sister's 'outgrown' bike (once pink and now painted black ), we struggled a bit through the town centre. After visiting a few of the street stalls, we went for lunch.
4. Struggled to place 'the bike' somewhere safe - so finished up in Wethy's. Nathan feels 'OK' in there, as he knows the menu/routine/layout - and he had his usual 'Traditional Breakfast'! I had the Quinoa Salad with Halloumi and begged the waiter for some Sweet Chilli Sauce instead of the Salad Dressing .
5. Ended with a trip to Aldi - where I totally embarassed myself. In the queue for checkout, I thought Nathan was standing behind me with a bottle drink in his hand .......................... so I reached out, took it from him and put it in my trolley. Then turned to ask if that was all he wanted, to find that it wasn't Nathan !!!!! I don't know who was more shocked - the young lad or me :rotfl:. Nathan was sitting outside - messing with the 'blasted bike' - totally oblivious to his Nan's dilemma.
6. I DID manage to get myself some Gluten Free Goodies for 'The Christmas Stash'!0 -

My five for yesterday are ;
1) All buses and trains ran to time.
2) Had a delicious roll on square sausage and a mug of tea at a wee tea room outside the station before boarding the London train.
3) Enjoyed my packed lunch. It saved me spending any more money on food except for a cup of tea.
4) Managed to get from Euston to Paddington without mishap. I was a bit nervous having to change tubes at Oxford Circus - usually I go from Kings Cross and only have one tube to Paddington.
5) DS1 was waiting for me at the station and his girlfriend had a lovely quorn lasagne cooking for dinner.
The joys of being on holiday - I'm still in bed :rotfl:Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Thursday pleasures,
A foggy early morning turned into a sunny day so washing done.
Found an appropriate card for 18 year old nephew, laughed out loud in the shop so knew it was the one
Following Capt S’s job news we had a house meeting to make a few financial decisions, this is what happens when two bean counters live together!
Driving home from the yard and watching the sky turn all pink and apricoty, lovely sunset.
