Morning, not been on here for a few days so a round up of pleasures
- Used the last of the crookneck squashes to make soup, and I've saved some seed to dry out and hopefully use next year as they've been so nice - and easy to grow
- Spring onions are growing nicely in the border in front garden and garlic leaves are beginning to appear too, I keep hearing Margo Leadbetter's voice saying 'Not in the Avenue!' :rotfl:
- Did CPR/defibrilator training yesterday, so glad I did it!
- Agreed with kids to only give small/token presents this year, which is a huge relief given our current financial situation!
- Getting a refund for pelargonium seeds which i bought from Amazon - not sure what I've been nurturing and growing, but pelargoniums they aren't! :rotfl:0 -
Some recent pleasures,
Lunch out with youngest DSIL, we put the world to rights and enjoyed a good natter.
No physio appointment yet but they have sent me a list of exercises to be getting on with.
My lovely man had his third and hopefully final interview for a job he wants very much, now it’s just a waiting game.
Collected a JL parcel from W8rose and happened to find a Tiramisu cake rtc, yum.
My horse’s face as she crunches through the windfalls, her eyes are closed and relishes every mouthful.
Finished American Gods, wasn’t sure at first but couldn’t put it down towards the end, will have to order the others now0 -

V Did the trim in the gym yesterday. Beached ready again. More later! That is hows it is!
4 Tea last night was Prawn Roulette with nasta pasta. Then strawbs, berries and merengue! Raffles was also wanting the ice cream!
3 Proper good was that. Now at the mill, millwright sent mes a cv yesterday. Having served, you can spot stolen vanity quite easily and this one sparkled. Then Humane Remains rang. Yep, yous knows. In the same pile as educationalists, social worker! Put three chairs in a room and two doors. Tell them the roman had just left through the door and got a million pounds. If you guess correctly, you also get another million pounds between you! They would just create a pile of paper!
Anyway, remains rang. Why have I rejected him. Oh, well he said he managed to do so much ten years ago on an internship of six weeks that I could not mange when I did work for the airline in 12 weeks!
Ok, but he only wants to be a trainee engineer. What, he finished his education, got a higher degree than me and in ten years is wanting to be a trainee. No No No No No No! You notice I got the educationalists in again!
Oh, that roman! Hx left the room with the Humane Remains, Educationalists and Social Worker and went through one of the two doors! He was also a liar!
2 Quandary! The luncheon box is so full of goodness that I has put rum and raisin chocolate into it again this morning. These extras you get when you has proper foods!
Not having one today, otherwise it would only be about …
Strange that in the end! Oh, the door. It is a glass one like the ceiling!0 -
1) It's warmer outside and the sun is shining.
2) Just been for coffee with a friend from the choral society who got my phone number from DD1 and it was a lovely visit, such a nice lady.
3) Sat in her kitchen which was blissfully warm as she has an Aga, oh I have such envy and hope for many more coffee invites.
4) We took her some freshly cut grapes from the allotment (she lives opposite the plots) and thankfully she likes grapes.
5) Off to swap phone numbers with another friend with coffee in mind this afternoon, it looks like I'm beginning to get a social life, now that really IS a pleasure.0 -
Evening people. Not been here a while, been on holibobs with no internet..

3. Spending 12 days, just me and the OH - the longest we have been on our own since 1996
4. The weather - it's spring in SA and was mostly warm and sunny
5. Always nice to be home though and DD was really pleased to see us.

That all sounds exciting, VJsmum.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday).
1) Took smaller son to school via McD - more bribery...
2) Hens well and I spent about half an hour on the allotment with them as it wasn't raining today. Cleaned their sleeping quarters out.
3) Did housework - hoovered throughout, steamed floors downstairs, bed changed, tidied, washing, swept the leaves up outside.
4) Met my sister and niece for a cup of tea.
5) Phoned the council about some work I have to do with them. Every other year the deadline has been a week or two after the end of the half term holidays. I was chatting away and asked when the deadline is -Monday!!!! So that's what I shall be doing for hours and hours between now and then!
6) Bigger son has gone to games night with my brother and brother in law.
7) My school friend phoned.
Up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to see if I can get ready, hens done, children on the way to education, forms sorted and on site by 8ish. :-O I had organised to see a friend at 12 (not knowing how little time I had left) but I think that will break the day nicely. Luckily it's the same town!0 -
I'm up really early this morning as woke at 5 and couldn't get back to sleep. Probably because I'm travelling to ds1 today and quite excited. I leave at 9.30 and arrive around 6 - just hope Paddington's all ok by then. My five for yesterday were;
1) Beautiful sunny and windy day here so got bed sheets and towels all out and dried.
2) I had savoury cheese scones and small fruit/chocolate buns in the oven at 9am.
3) One friend came for coffee at 10 and best friend came for lunch to give me my birthday presents and cards before I leave for son's.
4) Went to the dentist - that wasn't a pleasure but I didn't have to pay so happy about that.
5) Managed to pack all my clothes into smallest size of case - big achievement for me as I always take loads. But today I will be taking 2 buses, 2 trains and 2 tubes to get to sons so best to travel light.
I love travelling xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Good Morning,
VJsmum Very envious of your South Africa adventure.
Yesterday
1. Did some joint classroom observations. Always amazed by the fabulous teachers I am privileged to work with.
2. Had an unexpected meeting with some lovely people who will be able to help us with some tricky issues.
3. Finally got my stationery order approved :j It may sound pathetic, but it's very frustrating when our leader is showing off our new building, but we can't get a pen(Rant over :rotfl:).
4. Got a free 6 pack of crisps in Mr T, with the coupon in the magazine. :j Small victories.
5. First Man.......apart from the bits which were supposed to be silent, but some woman managed to talk all the way through.......did she think she was watching it at home? (Sorry, more ranting :rotfl:).
Have a lovely day0 -
1. A friend has been discharged from her outpatient appointments. After many years of follow uos. She had a recent scare but all clear.
2. Lovely sunrise. Such vivid colours.
3. Tea cooked in slow cooker. Smell was good when I arrived home from work.
4. Email I wrote at work responded to and points raised will be discussed face to face.
5. Quiet evening.0
