    Saturday pleasures,

Bit of a lie-in followed by boiled egg with marmite soldiers.

Cool, breezy kind of day so cracked on with jobs in the garden and changed the bed.

Watched just enough of the last time trial stage of the Tour to know that G Thomas had won before heading to the yard.

We are all on stubble field alert at the stables but alas the harvesting hasn’t been done yet so had to make due with a hack down the track. We also learnt a new trick, took a few attempts and a lot of bribery but she will now lift her leg when I just tap her knee. Considering when I first got her she point blank refused to even lift he back legs at all am pleased with that.

It was pleasantly cool in the house and no need for a fan.

My friend has book tickets for Burghley HT’s, it’s the last day so showjumping which is my least favourite discipline but really looking forward to it as never been.

Thunderstorm yesterday - and lots of rain :j:j

Nice catch up with friends we're going on holiday with - lots of wine so a bit of a thick head today :o

Should get £20 cashback for first online order with the emporium. Already used Mr T and A*da so got the others to go yet, but can only manage one online order a month so that's still to come :D

Bought 5 packs of RTC green beans for 20p each, going to prep and freeze them today :)

Crookneck squashes starting to appear and grow quickly :)

Some for the last few days.

    1. On holiday in France. Lovely hot, sunny, lots of food and wine and meeting up with friends.

    2. Swimming every day at least twice. Have managed to go to the pool when it's been empty. I love being the only one swimming in a pool. DH Sat and watched he isn't too keen on swimming.

    3. Feeling relaxed and catching up on much needed sleep.

    4. The beach. I love sun bathing n it listening to the sea.

    5. DS1 keeping in touch and he is keeping busy and had gone out a couple of times with fruends. He needs to know what a normal life is.without having to care for someone and have a full time job.

1 I’ve meal planned for another week, looking forward to foraging some berries when the rain stops, though I had better defrost a freezer first.:o
2 Dinner will be a stuffed home-grown courgette want to be marrow with turkey mince and all sorts of good stuff, garlic, onion, pepper, and the rtc veg from yesterday will accompany it, it was delicious, even DH commented.:T
3 Did a fair bit of food prep for the next day and grated up a block of cheddar into bags for the freezer.
4 A lazy day really, barring kitchen work, caught part of a mesmerising Ghibli film which was somewhat surreal.
5 I’m looking forward to watching Star Wars ep 2 as I’ve never seen it.:)

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Found the ultimate source of the tiny black flies that have been in the kitchen for some time. There were some round a soft onion the other day so I disposed of that - still flies. Clearing out under the stairs today, found a small bag of potatoes that must have been there since last year...

    3) Also found the source of the rats on the allotment when I lifted up the bag of hen bedding in the shed...

    4) 3 eggs today and hens OK. Cleaned their sleeping quarters out.

    5) Soup with part baked rolls for lunch then meringues with peaches and nectarines (to use them up).

    6) Have been enjoying watching the James and Jupp series of travels in Wales including saying, "Isn't that Monmouth/Caersws/Blaenau?" at every stop. Loved the bit outside the Plaza in Port Talbot - worth watching for that alone.

    7) Just picked up bigger son from steam train town and tired now.

    Sunday pleasures,

Up early as is my habit on a Sunday, filled up the bird feeders in PJ’s and it was actually cold on my legs :(

Decided to have a bit of a clear out of shoes etc, several pairs (some hardly worn) cleaned and bagged up ready to go to CS. My cull of the wardrobe continues and now aware that am slightly addicted to getting rid of stuff!

Bit of a cba day food wise so cold chicken with salad for lunch followed by various bits of grazing through the rest of the day, might have included some chocolate :D

Watched the last stage of the Tour and G’s triumphant trip into Paris, well done that man.

Listened to an Inspector Morse play on radio, followed by the latest instalment of the excellent The Unforgotten on tv.
