    Didn't manage to post yesterday.
So for the past couple of days.

    1. More dog walking and went on a couple of different routes. I really enjoyed it. My neighbour appreciated it and hopefully will be happy to ask me in future of she wants me too.

    2. Met an old colleague for coffee. She was well but husband is having health problems. Much chat and a cake was eaten with our coffee.

    3. DH visited our friend following his heart surgery. He was doing well and talking but tired and in pain. Not sure when he will be discharged as he lives alone.
DH stayed overnight and on way home he went to see his mum.

    4. I went to A friend for a BBQ and had loads of food.

5/ DH accounts are finished for the year. The reason I didn't go to see friend.

    6. DS1 spent weekend with friends and had a relaxed time doing normal stuff. He has done more this last week than he had in the previous few months!

Morning all - 'nother day, 'nother train. Except that this one is the Eurostar to Paris :j I am off to South West France to visit my friend for the week. had a lovely time last year so am hoping it goes as well again.

    Pleasures for Saturday

    1. OH had to work, so i did too. More fiddling with numbers. Not a massive pleasure but still more steps forward (even if it doesn't always feel like it.)
    2. Cleaned the floors - house is fairly clean again... Just in time for everyone else to mess it up while i am away
    3. Walked round the block and visited the new housing estate for a nose. I wish it hadn't been built (on local farmland) but it looks quite nice
    4. had a bath and watched an episode of 'Hidden' new Celtic Noir...
    5. The best of all - out for dinner with GBFs. They got married a couple of weeks ago, very quietly due to family issues. So instead of a big do they are taking out friends that they would have invited for posh meals - we went to Malmaison in Birmingham. I had fish - and too much wine...:rotfl:

    And yesterday

    1. Hangover not as bad as it could have been :o
    2. DD, OH and I went to London - OH to work and DD and I to the theatre. We went to see 'Heathers', which is a teen-orientated, cult like show. The audience were all very young - about three people older than me and a couple around the same age. All the others were 25 and under. The cast were excellent but the audience whooping and cheering every little thing got on my wick - it was good, it wasn't THAT good.
    3. DD and I had a Wagamamas before hand. I had tuna (more fish!) and it was delicious. Eating out is something we have to knock on the head a bit when OH retires next year so we are making the most of it.
    4. DD went home and I went to the hotel I booked for the night. it was only a travel lodge about 10 minutes from St Pancras, but it was ok and at £49 a bit of a bargain for central London. In the end, OH's work paid for it as he didn't finish until 9,30 and has a 10.00 meeting this morning so he'd have had to book something anyway, which would probably have cost them a lot more.
    5. I met him off his train and we went for a curry - i had salmon tikka (more fish ... :rotfl:).

Have a lovely day all - i am going to the Musee D'Orsay Art Gallery for a few hours as I have 5 hours to kill in Paris with a big heavy rucksack and they have a left luggage there.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Well done on your fundraising Mhags.

    Sunday pleasures,

The cool of the early morning, pottering in the garden doing a bit of watering and topping up wildlife food/water.

Coffee and bacon butties whilst catching up on all things Ambridge.

Not a huge golf fan but become embroiled in the excitement of the last day of the Open.

Only interrupted by a visit to see horse girlie, she had a smear of blood on her neck, no cuts that I could see so could only presume it was a horse fly, hateful things :(

Home in time to see climax of golf.

Extra pleasure of a much missed friend reappearing on another thread, lifted my heart.

1 Full English snorkers, with obligatory cuppa
Proper Foods and a decent cuppa!
V Got loads of proper kedgeree left overs from yesterday. Will be stoved tonight again and with strawbs and ice cream. If you are pondering, not inn the same dish! Now as yous know I made a mistake last weak in me packed lunch box of buying a looked nice mouse! I tells you the only thing that should catch mice is Raffles! Aero mouse, avoid. There tested and not approved for you. So BoP has jellied this week! Usual, ham salad today, with tangerine (sour grapes were poor yesterday!), oranges in homemade raspberry jelly and two proper digestives.

4 Watched the golf as well. How they make it a hard one with the par 3 16th! Just put the pin at the back and watch them drop off the back of the green! The cat cannot win on greens like that as well. Tad disappointed though when someone decried in abuse on the 18th tee and thought to put off Woods. It did not work!

3 Just reading about IWM North exhibition in Manchester. Poignant as it is 100 years, so worth a visit yous lot! Plenty of time now with the educators off to visit, on until February 2019! Now minds me of the memorial at the battery, where the eagle looks down across to the lady!

2 Nite after a hectic weakened, BoP is preparing his beach ready looks in the gym! Tour starts on 3rd August. PM2DD Appearing at the Theatre of Fish on 4th August #UTM!

Having one now! No pleasure in paying far too much tax again!

Stand still laddie Just noted I did 3 16 there!
  • Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun. Please avoid!
  • 1) Nice long chat with DD1 after her holiday, she was watering the garden and the hose exploded on her.....I wouldn't have missed that shriek for the world!

    2) Trip to Currys and now we have measurements for the gap in my soon to be new kitchen finally sorting out which fridge/freezer would fit and be use to us.

    3) We emptied and defrosted the smaller of the chest freezers a day or so ago and this afternoon have finally moved it indoors to the garden end of the lounge where it is rather noisily getting itself cold again. Later or tomorrow I shall start to go through the contents of the large old chest freezer in the kitchen and transfer what we can use to the one in the lounge and give my neighbour the home growns I won't be able to use before we leave.

    4) Packing more boxes this time my unopened herbs and spices from the pantry store and a few boxes of kallo stock cubes of various flavours that I can't get here so buy in bulk when I visit DD2 and go to her wholefood scoop shop.

    5) Two lovely old friends have joined back in on the No T Words thread, I've missed them both very much and hoped they were all OK so to have them back is very, very nice indeed.

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Good to get up after not a very good night's sleep. Had to get up anyway to let the plasterer in.

    2) Hens had not fought anymore and there were 4 eggs.

    3) Got summoned back from the allotment by the plasterer to say the existing ceiling was too rough to skim over so would I like the whole lot ripped out and replaced? More costly but might as well have it right after all these years.

    4) Popped out for lunch as the kitchen was out of action.

    5) Had a game of football with smaller son later.

    6) Made tea yesterday so Spanish chicken and a sachet thing of rice were easy enough to warm through in the microwave.

    7) Went to our local Art Deco cinema and watched "Swimming with Men" which was marvellous! Both sons really enjoyed it, as did the elderly lady sitting on my other side. :-D

Got to be up early again in the morning for the skimming over...
  • Another hot, hot day but even I want some rain now especially after having to use the Central Line to get to our dentist  When we moved to East London 20 years ago we kept our dentist in West London as he is a good dentist & who wouldn’t want to keep a dentist called Igor :rotfl:

    Lukewarm bath this a.m. :D

To avoid the rush hour on the tube we had a couple of pints after dentist visit & I was rather amused to find a chap in the pub who had ‘broken out’ of hospital & was having a cheeky pint :rotfl: No air con in hospital so asked permission to go outside to get some air & then hopped on a bus to the pub :rotfl: Still had all the paraphernalia on his arm re his drip :rotfl: Hope he didn’t get into too much trouble when he went back :D (:o I was so amused I bought him a pint :o - I know, I know shameful behaviour on my part :o )

No cooking :T - but a rather expensive burger & chips in GBK - I blanched when I paid  Tasty but they do know how to charge  That will teach me to get something out of the freezer before we go out :rotfl:

DSis spotted mummy fox & 3 cubs :)

Seeing the most ginormous sunflower on our walk back from the station. :D

A very bright moon & looking forward to seeing a Blood Moon on Friday

    1. Kindness of a colleague at work.

    2. Laughing at email received telling us how to open windows!

    3. Left work but early so had a lovely long evening.

    4. Long conversation with DS1. He has a good weekend with friends. His ex girlfriend is moving the rest of her stuff out next week. That will help him too i think.

    5. Drink and talk in the garden with DH and DS2

    Morning.

    Monday pleasures included.
Little dog walk then longer dog walk later. I'm watching my friends child for an hour each morning this week before their summer club starts.

DD 2 had appointment at GP , had enough time to park and walk through park , saved paying.

Then we went to our local cancer support centre and made a donation of £50 from our fundraising.

I'd woken to a lovely email from our oncologist in Melbourne . Still promises of money coming in .

Went to college as DD had an appointment ...if I'd known it was going to take 1hour 55 minutes I'd have done something else! Instead I waited & waited. Had the driest scone ever. Chatted with a friend. Wrote a letter to DD1 , wrote a list. Wrote an email...!

Went to T. Was very mindful of what I was buying, included a few things for food bank & was just £21.(would usually be much more)

Home and took dog out. Met a friend on way back so had a good chat with her.

Another friend popped in so quick chat with her.

Then the rain came on! Wow! Proper rain. None of the drizzly stuff. Som ( thinking he was being helpful ) brought already wet but now soaking wet washing in , dumped it on chair...then floor! I'd have just left it out.
