When we arrived at DS1 house his girlfriend had taken away quite a bit of her stuff. So less for him to box up.
I did some cleaning as he has been working 50 hours most weeks and she has worked one or two days but had never lifted a finger to cook, clean or iron.
DS1 and DH did some stuff in the garden.
DS1 is still seeming ok but keeping him busy.
He was going to the cinema as DH and I went to see Jools Holland at Kew as we had been given free tickets., It was good and what I needed to take my mind off things.
  • 1) Cooler here this morning, at the moment at least!

    2) Sitting in the garden last evening with our 'Swedish Candle' lit and just enjoying the simplicity of it but the effectiveness with which it burned.

    3) The courgettes are slowing down.

    4) Nice coffee at the garden centre in the morning and really good value fruit and veg from the farm shop.

    5) Neighbour who didn't last year after I'd watered her entire garden for 3 weeks say a word to me actually came round yesterday to say thank you to He Who Knows as he'd watered her front garden pots for a week and cleared their post (I refused because of last years rudeness) even brought him some cider too.

    Sunday pleasures,

Up early and out with little dog before it got too hot.

Caught up on all things Ambridge and then listened to the latest episode of the Rest is History.

Oven on for just long enough to cook chicken thighs, we are eating a lot of salads, calorie intake bumped up by consumption of mint choc chip ice-cream.

We watched the football, disappointed as I wanted Croatia to win but entertaining match.

Sighed over the beautiful gardens with the Monty and GW, followed by new series of The Unforgotten.

    1) nice coffee with mum after church then dd2 appeared. Waterstones tooooo hot so we went to the McManus
    2) they have McMennace at the McManus. So we had a great time looking round the exhibition then went to the cafe for lunch
    3) I had the McMennace children's menu bangers and gnash. DD2 had the all day cooked breakfast and donated me her tomatoes. DM had the roast lamb and donated me her broccoli :-)
    4) DD2 had started the day freeing another load from the office (which had becoming a dumping ground). i almost have an office back :-)
    5) a very pleasant evening reading my book in my lovely tidy front room while mrpiano played Beethoven and Mozart sonatas. Then we had a gin and tonic :P

  • Ah, DD Dundee, that surely is Dennis. the Menace?

V No that the bedroom after years of decorating is completed, and boudoir of the BoP is back in passion! Raffles is not impressed with the new arrangements! Talking of Raffles, he had his wash yesterday. He was absolutely filthy. He is now prim and proper! Treats were given later! He gets his flea bits today!

4 In the packed lunch box for BoP this weak we has sour grapes today, with salad, pork pie, tangerine, rocky and a cake of Jaffa bar. I is too minds whether to do Snorker Dog roulette tonight after the gym, or fish fingers! More on this tomorrow!

3 I suppose in the end the best team came fourth! Ooops, sorry won. Thats the croissants off the menu then!

2 Nite BoP is trimming the last bits of his beach ready looks in the gym! At our gym, we have a parking area.

    Stop it, I know !!!8230;

Good evening and what a beautiful day it turned out to be after a very wet start.

Lovely walk with Haggy boy and his ladies. They've been on holiday . He was soo happy!

Made 2 lots of tablet. It's hidden.

Just made a batch of honeycomb.

A lovely suprise gift from DD1 . 2 posters that are for my extension and when I saw them I knew exactly where they'd go.

Also a gift for GN of some books. She has some lovely Australian books that live here.

Son was on the telly! Well his back was!

We had dinner of rice, with some RTC peri peri chicken , peppers, onion, mushrooms, chilli and garlic. And some onion bhajis too. Rather yummy.

Son's face lit up when he saw tablet edges and the whisk I'd left him to nibble on.

Saying to Haggis would you like a walk and he just said no but I'll have a cuddle! And climbed up and squashed me! Then we went for a walk.

Quick chat with DD2 as she's away cat/house sitting.

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens OK and I spent another hour cutting back the long hedgerow.

    3) Bigger son had an interview for an apprenticeship and felt it went pretty well. There were only 2 of them being interviewed! He doesn't like the thought of working away all week, every week though.

    4) I've been on the lookout for an electrician to replace my outside light (since there is no artificial light at all after dark). A school friend of mine recommended a company of electricians on FB so I asked him about it - and it is his company! He is coming round on Thursday to do the work and I haven't seen him since 1991. He also went to primary school with me - one of 4 pupils in my year!

    5) Did lots of cooking. Chicken curry for tea with several individual ones for the freezer. Then 6 veg lasagnes (Jack Monroe's recipe). Also did a lamb tagine which has gone into the freezer too.

    6) Pre the cooking, went to Sainsburys and loads of fruit and veg was on special offer. 30p each for twin packs of avocado, celery, raspberries (straight in the freezer), oranges, flat peaches etc.

    7) After tea we went for a walk in the forest locally. No deer tonight.

    8) In bed and about to watch Who Do You Think You Are?

    Good morning,

    Monday

    1. Prom day for 6th form. Love seeing the leavers all grown up. They had a buffet, and a rides around the local area in a Hummer, awards and a disco. A triumph!

    2. No one had the same dress as me this year. :j

    3. Got through loads of work as stayed in school until the party started.

    4. Found the bottle rocket launcher in the cellar, so didn’t have to make a new one. :j Year 11s had fun launching their rockets.

    5. Chaps had had takeaway and there was enough for me to have supper before bed.

    6. DH has set up an Instagram page for the doggie. She has more followers than him. :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day :)

    Monday pleasures,

Picked up a few fresh bits in emporium and the pleasure of walking into such a cool shop, blistering hot today and no rain although apparently it fell a few miles away.

Four sparrows using the spa facilities of the water feature at the same time, lots of wing fluttering and head dipping.

Spicy Thai fish cakes for lunch.

Shopped from my wardrobe and found a maxi dress had forgotten about.

Evening with my DSIL and her friends, she faces a tough time health wise so good to catch up, the wine flowed but not for me as driving.
