    1. Worked with colleague I hadn't seen in a while. We generally don't work in same place at same time. She caught the bus with me so had a long chat which was lovely.

    2. Another colleague helped or tried to with some on line training. She had passed but basically did what I did - keep pressing the buttons and hoping for the best!!

    3. Saw.A doctor about my back and he was helpful and explained various things. Hopefully may do some good with boss at work.

    4. Spent some time in the garden, dug up a plastic crate and managed to find a folding chair which I half dug up but my back started to hurt so I stopped. Three years of digging rubbish up and still finding it. The chickens "helped" and managed to eat loads of ants, worms etc.

    5. Ironing finished while watching the rugby semi final. England won but not a great match.
  • 5 Just checked my pension after yesterday’s negotiations. Was out at 64, now out at 62! Please don’t tell millwright. Kerching. Pension upped. ISA upped. Thinking loads of hay to hide inn!

4 As for that, wobbleade chits are flowing as well, But remember, I am always short, so please send wobbleade chits to me via the pay of pal thing. If you are confused to what these are, BoP prefers the £20 wobbleade chits!

3 As celebration BoP’d out last night to wobbleade emporium and has a wash! And a steak, with toms and mushrooms! Tum was rubbed.

2 Night, well last night my beach ready body was again in the gym. Viewing is recommended

    And do the twist!
  • Lovely to read all your news and pleasures....although & had a zinger happen to her friend A which I hope is soothed by jam somewhat!
Size 14!! What a great giddy thrill! (Can't remember that size at all...20 yrs at least)
Perused what a Denby teapot was and now I want one. Denby has a US branch online.
Howling Haggis. The boy needed his friend to make things right and mom came through for him!
Mounds of apples and horsey smells. Fall is in the air!
KW!!!! A keeper it seems so far! Any man that listens is a jewel!

    * backsplash in kitchen is tiled so the kitchen is officially completed.

    * The soapdish that had been installed upside down in DD2's bath has been flipped and reinstalled by the tile guy.
    >>> This job caused me to enter this bathroom for the first time in a long time and I flipped out at the filth! Dear son has now scrubbed the offense away and I'm much calmer. I normally do not enter his section of the house but after this I will make it a weekly habit to inspect that bathroom! This son has Aspergers and has an extremely hard time with others entering his space so I have threatened him with the housekeeper going in there.....so I hope he will keep it clean. Time will tell.
At least it's clean for now.

    * Apple crisp (my little tree Mrs L) and roasted chicken for supper tonight. Looking forward to the luscious smells!

    * Rain blessed rain!! Maybe an inch and a half!!
Roof still leaks and this will be the 5th time for them to come out to try and fix it but it's their time and money. The owner is now involved (4th time)...so here's hoping.

    * Quoye in Bosque school. Bosque is Spanish for little forest and in New Mexico it refers to the trees along the Rio Grande river. Quoye's preschool has a summer Mountain school and a fall, winter and early spring bosque school which is exploration of the outdoors twice a week, They hike and discover plants and bugs and fauna and well everything the outdoors has to offer 3-4 yr old explorers. They take a bus and have a retired biologist, etc teaching these little ones. It's kind of an outdoor science class. They are allowed to play and discover. Like most kids did before everyone's mother worked. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled by my three daughters education and accomplishments and respective jobs. I'm also thrilled that Quoye has the opportunity to not be in a preschool every day. I think this is a marvelous mix!

Overprepare, then go with the flow.

p.s. spotting your lovely post, mila. Thankyou, for A: it's part of the Brexit>trump>extremist nutcasery+atrocites which think they're globally triumphant, for now anyway.

Apologies mila - a 2nd p.s. as I read about Q's little bosque school. It immediately makes & think of own early NZ childhood and schooling, along with Orslev Kloster, as above.

    1. KW - after another 'upset' on the home front, I was really struggling with life today, and messaged him to see if he fancied meeting up after he finished work, as one of his many jobs is a few miles away from school. Yay, he did, and we had a cheapie lunch in a pub garden, he listened to me offload and reassured me about what to do or not to do about the situation. So happy to have him in my life, and hope that he won't tell me to burger off for being such a stresshead at times!

    2. DD - she had a fabulous day out with my daddykins. Came back tired, happy and full of interesting stories about their adventures, and the places they'd been to.

    3. Sunshine!

    4. Did some school work with new head, who I'm really looking forward to working with. It's going to be busy, busy, and probably a bit stressy, stress, but it's all going to be a great learning curve.

    5. Need to plan in a few final catch-ups with friends I've not seen in far too long before school starts. Hopefully an exciting week beckons!

    6. Having savings, so I could afford to pay off my slightly scary credit card bill before getting yet another late payment charge....

Thank you, Ampersand. Best of luck to young DfV also.

Mila - we have similar here (not sure if it is countrywise), called Forest School. This is in primary schools, so between 5 and 11. It did help that sons' primary school backed on to a large forest so occasionally deer would stray onto their playing field!

Pleasures for today (Wednesday) - a busy day to take our minds off tomorrow.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens well and 2 rats caught.

    3) Dentist appointment went well but we forgot to remind him about smaller son's latex allergy (I have similar). He is a Scandinavian dentist so more tactile perhaps than British dentists. Anyway, son and I have sore mouths from his latex gloves and both have a red hand shaped mark on our arms where he guided us up out of his chair! Never mind - no fillings needed and my wisdom tooth hole is going in the right direction.

    4) Traditional post dentist full English breakfast.

    5) Went to 2 National Trust places (about 5 miles apart) and had packed lunch at the second, including plum and almond cake that I made yesterday.

    6) Back to Art deco cinema town to watch Cars 3.

    7) Popped to mum and dad's and they had bought us fudge from their holiday and also some cakes.

    8) Played a bit of football with smaller son.

    9) Watched Shaun of the Dead (2nd favourite film).

    10) In bed now with 9.5 hours to go...

    1) good drive down to chesterfield Tuesday. 3 beans on macdonalds card - one mine, 2 from discarded cups
    2) very nice walk round the lake at Annandale water to stretch our legs. This is my fave services.
    3) snorkers and mash for tea - snorkers from mr l, not bad at all
    4) lovely day yesterday pottering round chesterfield. a few good purchases at cs and 2 outdoor footstools at wilco (humour me, we don't have wilco in dundee). they will be great for seating in the newly cleared out room of requirements
    5) and now on the 5:42 for a meeting in london. work will only pay lowly senior lecturers standard class but have treated myself to an upgrade. just watched the sunrise in between chesterfield and east midlands airport stations

  • DD2 was at a company run nursery set in an old hunting lodge in 100 acres of woodland belonging to the company and they went out regularly to see the changes in the seasons, the wood was partly chestnut for coppicing and this was an endless source of interest as the flora and fauna changed with the regrowth of the trees and was constantly ongoing, a lovely childhood. We also had access to the woods and DD1s happiest times were Sunday afternoons or late afternoons all year when we could walk the mile from our house, through a massive Bramley orchard and straight into the wood. They both loved a huge old oak that had been hit by lightning at some point but stood on the edge of the woodland and was climbable, they called it 'The Lookout Tree', happy days!

    1) Dubious pleasure but the day of He who Knows operation is upon us and it will be a good thing to have it behind us tomorrow!

    2) Because of this we are well and truly up to date with ALL the garden and allotment jobs that need doing to ease us in to the colder months.

    3) The house is also up to date!

    4) DD1 is coming home for a couple of days to keep me from fretting him too much and keep me company (and out of his hair).

    5) Cooler today and we have sunshine although last night was very 'muggy' and I kept waking up hot. Hopefully cooler tonight and more comfortable for sleeping!
