Mrs LW, are you *sure* no amount of worrying can change the future? As today I could do with some certainty. On that point will do just fine.
Sorry!0 -
Absolutely positive my love, and also absolutely positive that whatever today brings be it good or bad can be made the way you want it because you and yours are the folks who WILL NOT sit idle and complaining and waiting for 'the world' to fix things BUT will get on and give your utmost to make the changes that need making to make the improvements!!!0

Thoughts with young people and parents who have results out today, also with HWK and his lovely missus.
Some recent pleasures,
Promised news on all things equine, travelled up to the Midlands to try out new horsey pal.
Georgeous grey mare, 6 years old and slightly smaller than darling Bill, smashing forward trot, armchair canter and did nothing but bat her stunning long eyelashes at horrendous traffic whizzing past on road, she's a keeper! Deposit down and holding breath for positive vetting :j
Aching limbs next day after hour of riding, no pain etc.
R&R by treat of afternoon tea with pals at town of gownish hotel ( & Quy Mill) smashing time with two of my favourite people, one of which faces horrendous operation tomorrow for BT, would much appreciate all positive thoughts for my pal.
Caught up with all things GOT's oh my, oh my.0 -
Hello from almost bedtime. Another day of busyness and starting a job here and then seeing another one there and then thinking I need to this and start on that...I may meet myself going backwards!
Work. Was busy . Was glad when it wa over.
Went to library , returned 4 books I hadn't read and borrowed another 2 that I might read. I used to have to read to fall asleep...now I just sleep.
Friend of my friend kindly came over and took OHs motorbike ( his pride and joy) to a dealer to try and sell but he was very honest and would only offer me peanuts and advised me to advertise privately. At least I know.and we managed to get the roof box out of corner of garage when bike was away! Another thing to sell!
Nice dog walks. Sky is filled with stars tonight.
Made the most delicious chicken pie, with scary veggies from the fridge.
Same as yesterday, nice morning , nice early afternoon then rain. There is just such a hint of Spring. Lovely.
The other week when I went to the Worksop at cancer hospital, I met an amazing young man who has been through so much in last 8 years . In spite of what he's been through and because of it he has started a support group for other young adults. The guys I used to work with at uni cafe when I first moved here , now have another 2 cafes and both these have a 'voting ' system, where their customers get to choose where there monthly donations go to. They have health/ social/ environmental/ cultural charities/ organisations that they choose each month. I emailed and suggested this young mans group. I got a lovely email from the cafe today to say they would look in to it and then when I emailed young man, to let him know ...just incase they choose him...I got an even lovelier email back from him. Nice to be nice!
I also got an email back from patient advocacy at cancer hospital having been encouraged to write to them whilst at the workshop. Most of our care was exceptional but some areas lacked & our oncologist always encouraged me to write. Things are being looked into. It was absolutely not a complaint but a wish for improvement for others.0 -
(yesterday)
1. Finished taking up curtains for mum - she is chuffed, and so am I, because they look so neat and professional (ifisaysomyself)
2. Patio finished, and laundry handing in the breeze. Love being able to dry outside.
3. Stuffed marrow with lentils for tea. Still have £90 left in this month's grocery budget (out of £180!). Loads leftover so don't have to cook tonight. Hurrah!
4. Have a fridge full of cooking apples, given to me for free, ready for making applesauce/jam/butter.
5. Planning to walk by the river at lunch today. Very lucky to live/work in such a pretty place.0 -
PM2DD Its gone rite t i t s up! Mind you ex colleague, Stevenage fan, and FB fiend has been banned for three days for posting about it!
5 As we have seen millwright good for another year, and no, I am not talking about pulling the wool over his eyes either, more monies have been transferred to ERNIE in the vain hope of telling him what he can so do with his shovel! Could be more later!
4 T last night we had Chicken Roulette. Not available inn the emporium and please rmemebr that emporium enriched with chemicals food is not good for you. Chicken roulette. Hot pan with butter and garlic, then sling in chunked chicken breast, British, not the carp used by the pressure cooker fryer, with chopped onion, peppers, carrots. Topped with steamed broccoli. And the roulette bit. Add some soy sauce and the chilli flakes. As much as you dare. Proper food from BoP!
3 In mill today doing loads of calculations on how much coal we need for the furnace over the winter! Talking of coal, make sure you’ve checked your tariffs with the rip off gas and lecky peoples. If you are unsure, don’t go for the cheapest or wrong guesstimates. Unsure, use rule of BoP.
Gas 12,000 to 13,500 kWh
Elect 3,300 kWh per year
Don’t forget to get the best price. BoP has bin with SP for umpteen years and I check monthly. Not moved since last October as they offered £5 a month more fixed until December 18. Still warming my toes at that price! Also get a thermostatic time switch and de bull shine yourself from the radiator valve adherers. Previously BoP was using 15,500 kWh of gas to ramp up the house in the evening and morning. Now, the thermostatic time switch does it for me, set at 18 when I am there and 14 when I am not. Now, why would you want your house to get to 6 overnight?, then your furnace blaze away trying to get 15 degree increase when you are off to work?
And if you don’t believe BoP, put that thermometer in the bathroom and then see what it reads the cold winter morning!
Enough. Ifs you need more, you has only to get on one knee!
2 Night BoP is again showing off his beach ready body done the gym. Viewing is essential, dark glasses are provided!

Great news Frith, you must be relieved, I remember it was a tad stressful for you at the time of the exams. Celebrating now? x0

Well done to you and DS, Frith. 2 years ago my DS got 1xA, 1xB and 5xC (i think) and a D in maths - it severely restricted his A level college and options. His 1 BTEC (which was great) and his 2 A levels (which were not) have been enough to get him into his uni of choice, so that's all i can ask. When he was 5 years old I despaired at him ever being anything as he was so far behind.
He seems to have a habit of 'it'll do' (I think it is a 'boy' thing) but, guess what? So far it'll do has been enoughI wanna be in the room where it happens0
