'onwards and upwards' is something i often end work emails with @mhagster. Then i thought hmm isn't that what Sisyphus said every morning? and look where that got him!
very busy weekend - good thing i've got tomorrow off!
- Saturday friend's husband's memorial at the cathedral - we sang some very nice Rutters
- Refreshment at the Apex - very nice - and cos he had been a clinical professor for many years caught up with several other now retired clinical professors I've not seen for a while
- then off to band practice - our fiddle / lead's funeral is Friday and we've been asked to play Ashokan Farewell
- this afternoon went to play some ceilidh music with another friend
- then this evening a fund-raising salsa night with a 10 piece band - big raffle - I won 2 hours sea kayaking (eek) and 12 cans of 'mystery beer' from a local brewery
And now i'm in bed with a cuppa and the archers. night all.

For yesterday,
The treat of breakfast out at the farm shop, C dog came too and was admired & treated as appropriate for a lady of her refinement.
Home, change, then over to the yard to sort out my big girl, she was dozing in her paddock in the warm sunshine.
Home, another change! Then over to see youngest DN and her beloved, bless her the first couple of months of pregnancy have been very trying with chronic sickness but medication seems to be finally helping.
Eldest DN and lovely fella came round too so lots of family time.
Home and final change of day, into PJ’s! Late supper and the gentle joy of a new series of Sam & Ade go birdwatching.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1)Not a bad sleep, though I went to bed too late.
2) Went to art.
3) Did the Metro crossword in Costa afterwards. One man came up to me and thought I was his date!! 2 men were at the next table and one did what I can only describe as ostentatious praying, in a booming voice. Then he stopped praying and had a conversation with "Colin" - in the same voice! Like Brian Blessed.
4) Took smaller son to Aldi.
5) Sanded the garage door so it now shuts.
6) Did a bit of mowing but it was spotting so I put the mower away and did round the edges with the shears.
7) Cleaned one kitchen cupboard out.

Indeed Mhags, splendid congratulations to your latest happy young couple, now happy back home in Oz. Might a magical flying wedding hat be necessary? All blessings to all involved.🫶
1.Ok, formatting's gone silly again, but will do my best. Side window view right now.
3. Afternoon spent helping someone clear deceased parents' house. 3 years' ago, but so much emotion and the weariness still combined.
4. Alma Patron's birthday yesterday and, late Saturday, & tucked self into corner to do tassels and finish the Welsh colours crochet scarf, one of the things for the birthday sack.
5. Again, with all of the last few days' events and doings of many things, so glad to be mobile, wheels and legs. Doblo is stuffed, ready for big sorting and donating tomorrow .
& is stuffed too, full of sniffles and sneezes, shared from our lovely curate, whose daughter, also lovely, has brought it home from college.
dd - you will relate all things sea-kayak-y as and when, won't you?😃

A remarkable man of great courage, if differently so.

For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town and the emporium, pleased to see my favourite apples are now in stock, Egremont Russets, yum.
Current visitors to our garden, a flock of six or so long tailed t*ts, they seem to be roosting in one of the big beech trees and regularly sit on our trellising.
Warm & breezy day so all washing done & dried. Kept the back door open and C dog fell asleep on the grass.
My pony calling out as she saw me walking out of the barn towards her field.
Meat free Monday and a new recipe, sweet potato hash, was nice and will keep the card.

Good morning! I had an early night last night and forgot to post Sunday & Monday pleasures
Took myself and the doggo to CP early Sunday morning, it was a beautiful sky as we drove down and we had a lovely walk. Stayed overnight. So a quiet day ( yearning of swimming) started and finished a book. Nice walks. Had leftover soup for my tea.Early morning walk, the sun was rising like red lava behind dark grey moody clouds! Loads of deer in the nearby and distant fields so doggy on lead for most of the walk.
Back in and pottered around then left about 9.30 am had another nice walk and then rain started as I was driving home.
Was just in when friend called for a chat.
By this time rain too heavy to hang a washing out so hung on clothes horses.
Had Saturday evenings fire to clear out! As had left early on Sunday.Printed off work and sent off my invoice.
Hurrah for library bus and had a big chat with the driver! Not seen him in ages so we had a good catch up on all things books!
Had made leek and potato soup in the slow cooker and was just quite happily going to have that for tea but was invited round to DD2 so was fed there. Shared lots of baby cuddles and smiles with The Baby. Enough to last a week.
And a very nice quiet walk back round the road.
Came in…locked up and went to bed!
