    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Hens well and I cleaned out their sleeping quarters and (in a rare gap between showers) spread some muck around the raspberries and tidied up the allotment a bit.

    3) Smaller son and his friends hired a pitch at the leisure centre to play football then went on to McDs afterwards.

    4) I didn't want to waste petrol going home and back again to pick him up so looked around town. I had a £10 voucher for M and S (just for changing my life insurance to an online version) - but the clothing in there has become truly awful! Polyester, floaty, horrid prints. All the mens' stuff (for sons) looks like they be going boating. Really nothing in there in the homeware department either so I ended up buying a cut price orchid plant, some bread and cheese!

    5) Went to TKMaxx after and found some bowls that nearly match my plates (no longer available as they were bought from BHS about 2 weeks before it went bust).

    6) Planted seed trays of aquilegia and foxglove and planted 2 avocadoes to replace my one that was years old but was killed by the 4th heavy lot of snow last month.

    7) Watched Holby and will watch GBBO just now.

    ETA

    8) Picked the first of the rhubarb this year and it for tea with some Greek yoghurt.

    9) An apprenticeship has come up in nearest town (10 miles away) that is absolutely perfect for bigger son. He is desperate to get one and got as far an interview last time (different company). He is going to change from his college at the end of this course in June to start the next level in the college right next to this vacancy anyway!

    Good Morning,

Got up far too early. :(

    1. Pleasure? Went to the funeral of a lady I worked with over 30 years ago. She was a great influence on me. I took over her job, as a special needs careers adviser, when she retired. (I still work with special needs students today). There were 3 services. A quiet service, the cremation and a Thanksgiving Service. The Thanksgiving was uplifting. Lots of friends giving anecdotes. I shared an office with her for years and did not know what an amazing life she had lead. I knew she had taught in Kenya, but I did not know she had climbed Kilimanjaro or Mt Kenya! RIP my friend Jean.

(An added pleasure was being back in the church DD and DS1 were christened).

    2. Mackerel on toast for lunch. ( Free tin of Princes Mackrel with a coupon :j). Can only eat this if DH not home!

    3. Free 02 Caffè Nero. Went mad and bought a cake as well. (It was an emotional morning).

    4. Big bag of stuff to CS. Found new sports top and snow trousers for DD and a pair of Clarke’s Mary Janes for me.

    5. Thanks for the reminder about Jack Monroe recipes PK. Made peach and chickpea curry using a tin of mango, (Another Free tin with a Princes coupon!), instead of the peaches, and throwing in some chicken to keep DH happy.

    Have a lovely day :)

Totally agree on Mr Sparks Frith pants and food are about the limit of my spend nowadays!

    Also had a lie-in.

Clearing ironing pile and seeing the bottom of the DLB.

    Family meal leftovers for lunch.

Watched Only Connect from the planner followed by GBBO.

Walked around the garden last thing with spaniel dog, skies had cleared and the stars were out. The air was cool but not freezing, the little owl was calling from the beech trees, could almost smell spring in the air :j
  • #RAF100 Don’t forgets to listen to the wireless thing on Friday Night, BoP is singing!

V Back at the mill! Wells as I was downgraded by IT a couple of weaks ago, access to the folder of my creation has bin denied. I am not who I used to be! Nows don’t get the BoP started otherwise it will be for all of them! Better we get used to the new blunted spades and get on with it. Mind you, I has to think of my Arithmetic teacher (you got that correct!) who muttered that calculations will quick with the computing thing, as it will give you the answer right away! My tool takes at least an hour to crunch its numbers!

4 Was out showing off my beach looks yesterday inn the gym. I can tell you now it packs a lot as well. Viewing available soon at Anderby Creek! More details later! Just need to sort my trunks out, and …

3 On about packing, BoP’s Lunch Box is looking good this week! Packed with salad, cake of Jaffa, cheese, and a biscuit. Proper food and good for you. This is how BoP keeps his beach ready looks! Also packed a punch, sorry lunch with BoPsie’s box this morning as well. Mind you I bets that BoPsie leaves her peppers again!

2 Just reading the paper, while the IT PC tries to calculate its crunchings. Is it really 50 years since Mr King was felled. Never had the opportunity to listen to him, but he could bring people together, now all with have is extreme polarisation?

The last time there was a postal event, the righteous were quick to denounce it. Now one of their own runs amok, silence?

    1. DH couldn't sleep this morning so by the time I woke up the kitchen was clean and dishwasher and washing machine running!
    2. Working from home today so whacked some Lush Henna on my hair at lunch. I had my hair dyed blonde (balayage so only on the bottom half) but don't like it anymore so fingers crossed this dyes it back to a reddish brown that I like! Much cheaper than hairdressers :)
    3. Can finally sow some veggie seeds in our garden and will go through them tonight and hatch a plan to get them all in the garden.
    4. Feel like I've eaten loads today but still well within calorie count. I think filling up on tea helps!
    5. Supepr tonight is already in the SC - veggie mushroom bolognese. Yummy! Have some salad and chilli naan to serve with it. DH will be happy :)

Art'noon all - actually sat at my desk at home for once

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Got lots done - at ICT, on train and in the evening. The job i am doing (boring but necessary) is extremely compulsive, it is rather mindless (trawling through a website) so I have been watching "keeping Faith" whilst doing it - last one tonight.
    2. The sun came out in ICT just as i left - typical. It was nice to see a clear blue sky for once and the sun had a bit of warmth
    3. OH cooked sausages for tea
    4. OH also walked back from the station with me
    5. DS and OH went to the football and their team won :T

First pleasure of today is that Monty the Dyfi osprey is back :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I've been watching ' Keeping Faith ' too Vjsmum and looking forward to last episode.

Just in from a wee night out with old colleagues . Go picked up & dropped off which saved me driving in the dark home , which I hate. Good catch up & much laughter which is always good .

Ghastly day weather wise , horrid sleety rain & icy wind. Car is freezing up already.

Wrote a list and achieved much of it.

Made a kind of rice-y stir fry, fling everything in add a dash of soy sauce & it was delicious .

Watched opening ceremony for Commonwealth Games. Felt a bit homesick for Australia.

Started a book. Not read in a while.

    A good day.

  • Tuesday & Wednesday Pleasures

    1. New bamboo chopping board fully oiled & ready for use - it will be my veg, fruit & cheese chopping board :)

    2. Twinks’ hobnobs - 2nd batch - they are delicious

    3. Last parcel sent to DSis in France - I will save so much money :money:

    4. 2 Full bags to cs - the more ‘clutter’ that goes out of the house the lighter I feel :) Had a nice chat & a cup of peppermint tea. I think I might buy a box of peppermint teabags as I don’t need sugar - might help with minimising a few pounds :rotfl:

    5. Moving & cleaning the bedroom bookcase which led to being able to create a space in my wall unit by moving my two sets of books - Stephen King’s The Dark Tower & George RR Martin’s Game of Thrones.

    6. My DH creating space in the spare bedroom & the garage :)

    7. Sm fishcakes, mash, sweetcorn & petit pois for Wednesday dinner with apple & berry crumble and custard for afters 1.5 hours later :)

    8. DH phoned my DSis & she was more upbeat than usual :T + she finally received the magazines I sent over a week ago :)

    9. DH doing another Tip run - only one more trip required before our trip to France

    10. DH has the details of the builder who put in neighbour’s new bathroom & cloakroom :j
