Yesterday was spent mostly reclined as I had horrible dizziness.Woke up today and have been much better until last hour or so when I’ve felt dizzy again so just came to bed to be flat.Up early.
Went to CP. oh what a lovely walk we had. Leaves strewn everywhere and we scrunched our way through them.
Down for a few hours and left about 1.30pm. Felt a bit more comfortable driving…hopefully it feels like my car soon!Saw what the car garage have put my car up for sale at and glad I held my will to get what I wanted as trade in !It’s been dry but kind of a raw cold. Put fire on as I was chatting to sister.Had a notion for something sweet. I don’t buy biscuits anymore ( as I just eat them) but knew I had coconut and white chocolate so searched a recipe for cookies and made a third of a batch! And just made them small.Birdies at the bird bath ( which was my mum’s) . I heard a woodpecker when we were walking this morning.7 -
hope work improves frith how awful about the volunteer
1) a very good day at work - lovely weather, several things moved on
2) run at lunch time with colleague - the leaves are beautiful
3) last meeting (online) colleague says 'well I have to go as I'm off to the Nicola Benedetti concert'. 'have a lovely time' I reply 'I thought about going but only tickets left have restricted view' she replies 'x has a spare ticket as y is ill' quick phone call to x and I have bought the spare ticket :-) we have excellent seats and the concert is brilliant. not very mse but worth every penny and I do take a flask of coffee at the interval
4) coming out I see the #22 bus just leaving the bus stop so I run to the next bus stop where there are people queueing and I am there in time
5) phone dd2 and have a nice catch-up till doggie tells me loudly it's time for bed. Which is where i am now. he is already snoring in his bed. night night20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5005 -

3) Went to most local NT for a cup of tea.
4) Bigger son texted while I was out so j headed home and we had a chat and played a boardgame.
5) I cooked meatballs ready for tomorrow then made sweet and sour chicken.

Me again!
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) An exciting day out. We drove to the station in the next town, as that weirdly saved us £ on train tickets.
3) First to the Jewellery Quarter for a look round. We wanted to use our English Heritage day pass but found the place is open by appointment only.
4) Had a look round the cemetery.
5) Walked into the centre and had a look at the new exhibitions in BMAG.
6) Walked through to the Bull Ring but i was not allowed to play the piano on the concourse as it would be too embarrassing.
7) Went to Tim Hortons and ate our cakes by the square and watched bits of the Christmas market get craned into place.
8) Watched The Traitors.6 -
Live rapportage from T'Alma after another big day.Let's all be supporting Frith for the multiple horrific and abysmal work experiences she's going through.👺
USDAW and The Graun/Polly Toynbee would have a field day.
#1. Chance crossing of paths chat at Nexus CS yesterday ended with a £10 donation for the fgm Safe House we support.2. Latest Addenbrookes radiology/leiomyosarcoma biz done. So lucky - 2 years' post-surgery survival now.3. Great midweek Communion this morning and Lady Chapel is stuffed past the gills, ready for Saturday's mighty Jumble Sale.4. Amazingly managed to deliberately walk straight past charity bookshelves and Take None!😃😁 This is a rare triumph!5....on the other hand, v.pleased to now have 2 signed copies of 'Who Was Henslow?' after tonight's talk by author, Dr Kate Hooper.https://www.cambridgephilosophicalsociety.org/news/article/new-book-celebrates-cps-founder-john-stevens-henslow

Unexpected bonus with each copy - free greetings card illustrated with one of the terrific linocuts in the book, as seen during talk.👏😃

Good morning. Grey again but still not really cold.
Feeling guilty cos I've been AWOL for ages but that's cos nothing much is happening. And that's a good thing!
Flu and covid jabs done. Very efficient service at the doctors, and no side effects. And free because we're old, so MSE too. Win,win!
Started to buy presents for birthdays and Christmas. All our closest family birthdays fall between end of October and end of February with just 2 outliers, so I tend to buy presents as and when and then assign on the date. Works for.me.
Food is becoming more wintry. The slow cooker comes out of its cupboard more often. Today I will turn on the oven!! First time in ages but I'm doing oven veg and I do too much at once for the airfryer. Leftovers can then be veggie rice or go into bitsas soup.
Other than that, not much to report
Happy Friday everyone. Keep well x

For the past week,
Lovely, lovely time away on the Norfolk coast. Our cottage was extremely comfy and so so dog friendly, C dog had her own welcome pack with homemade treats plus the choice of several dog beds and obviously plumped for the biggest one! What a bonus not to have to squeeze one in the car.
Our home from home was literally just opposite the beach road and we walked for miles everyday so definitely earned the copious amounts of cake that got eaten ☺️Still happy to be home though and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, I did pop over to see my pony earlier and she was sulking with me a tad when I first arrived but a few carrots soon won her round!7 -
I know a lot of days are full of ups and downs, but today is probably the most uppy and downy day of my life!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to coffee morning. Swapped a bag of chestnuts for a bag of cooking apples. Was nearly sick with anxiety about the meeting I would have in the afternoon.
3) Was given 2 free concert tickets.
4) Opticians at 12.30 for new glasses, which are great.
5) Did a bit of work.
6) Huge meeting with a manager and the store manager to discuss my 3 sides of A4 complaint letter. I think they were genuinely shocked how bad things have got. Some of the illegal bits have to be dealt with by Monday! I felt like Sir John Harvey Jones as I left!
7) Lovely time in Wolverhampton watching the Divine Comedy with smaller son.
Thought all was well with the world. A busy, but interesting day.
And then...
If anyone remembers MrU, I can now tell you he was cruel, devious and a big fan of coercive control and threatening violence. In fact, he would often get in the faces of other men and threaten them as well. I had vaguely told my friends about this and 2 friends, a former social worker and an police officer, had questioned me at length and helped me to leave him.
Imagine my surprise at 11pm when I logged on to our hobby WhatsApp group (MrU not been a member for 1.5 years) and found everyone is meeting up for a jolly cup of tea tomorrow morning and MrU will be the guest of honour. The social worker friend is perhaps the most enthusiastic to see him...
What can you do? Under those messages, it now says "Frith has left the group". I've deleted everyone meeting him tomorrow from my contacts, so I don't message them with my true thoughts.
I absolutely recoiled when I read it. I've gone really cold. Going to watch tonight's DIY SOS before bed. It's the end of an era.6 -
Morning all 😊
Still dark, but I’m tucked up in bed on here.
A couple of days at the coast to sort out our where our future home might be! We pulled out of our original choice as the vendors still hadn’t found anywhere and our buyers are ready to move in, and had an offer accepted on a new build with a lovely field view 😊. Met with the builder yesterday to discuss snagging and hopefully we’ll be moved in a matter of weeks.
We stayed in a very nice caravan after changing the first one because of dodgy lock and broken window! Sister came down for the day and I also met up with 2 friends for lunch and catch up. We also had our first pie and mash in a proper pie and mash shop, nice but we preferred the homemade apple 🍏 pie!Now we have to get down to serious decluttering and packing!Have a good weekend everyone 😊
