5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Hello. After a very grey day the sun kind of peeked through about 5pm so we currently have a clear-ish sky. Hoping for a nice sun set.Anyway have felt much better today.Up early. Then went back to bed and dozed for a wee while and then took my time getting up.Went to supermarket. Then went over to pick up DD2 and her doggy and off we went to CP. Had such a lovely walk. Much crunching of leaves! And watching them come down off the trees. Had lunch and just sat chatting which was nice. Then tidied up and came home.
New car has a warning light on! Not very happy! But can’t do anything till Monday! Grrr! Anyway nothing happened on way there or back.Made soup and sent DD2 off with three tubs filled. We both had a bowl of soup for our tea and then I have some left that I’ll probably have tomorrow. I have no tubs left as they’re all at hers! She loves soup…I could take it or leave it! Happy to have a bowl when I make it but probably wouldn’t make it just for myself! And it’s time for Strictly!A much better day than yesterday!7 -
Crikey Frith, you would have thought that a social worker of all people would know better! 🤞that something comes of your letter of complaint re work situation.
For today,
A lie-in, my own bed and clean sheets, blissful.
The predicted sunshine never materialised but we were busy in the garden and then took C dog for a walk around the fields.
The V E T a phoned to say that the results of her sample show extreme resistance to most forms of antibiotics but I’m taking her in on Monday and we have a plan of action, no insurance of course because it’s a pre-existing condition evident from her cauliflower ear so savings being hit which isn’t an obvious pleasure but she’s such a lovely soul and deserves a chance.
United got 3 points at home, it was streamed free but after a lengthy delay due to referee injury the stream finished 10 mins before the end so we had to resort to the good old radio.
My other girlie was more pleased to see me and even gave a little nicker as I walked up her field. Good chat with another owner and even produced a tub of cooling gel for him to use on his horse’s leg, by far the oldest on the yard but with age comes experience 😉5 -

Frith, that's a lot for you to deal with. For yesterday,Up early and travelled to mum in laws, and set to helping remove a tree, my role was mainly removing the smaller branches from the ground with a lopper into manageable pieces for the mulching. Her neighbour happily took the leftovers to burn. We grabbed a takeaway for dinner and other family turned up in the evening. For todayHad to pop out for both litter and chicken for the critters.Booked in for the flu jabsDid some basic cleaning to make it passable, more to do but at another time, but that clean bedding feeling for us tonight. While writing this post I had to stop as I had a tap on my foot and a custard wanting a cuddle for a couple of minutes - always a pleasure.8

A horrendous night sleep wise meant it was a pleasure to get up! Bless him, Capt S took C dog out for morning constitutional while I tried to come to with cuppa in hand.
Breakfast then over to see the beautiful grey one, sorted through my box of rugs to pull out her warmer ones as the temperature is dropping a tad. Nice morning though and it was a pleasant walk out to the paddocks to see my girlie.Home, then listened to the Archers omnibus through lunch which was steak pie and veg, followed by Cinnamon Bun pudding by a certain emporium, yum!
Snuggled under blanket with my book and promptly dropped off to sleep, two hours later it was time for another walk with C dog, the rain had come over by now but something cosy about the sound of raindrops on waterproof hood.
Only just catching up on quizzes from earlier in the week, rubbish at OC this time, put it down to my tiredness.7 -
Made a bacon / brie and chill sarnie with olio bread for breakfast.
Did very little other than watch a couple of films one repeat no surprise there and some of the worst acting I’ve seen so far on a Christmas film
Popped out and picked up some olio goodies these were healthy, salads, a stir-fry and fruit salads, so some greens cooking with tonight’s food and fruit salad for after.

Frith - you absolutely have the upper hand, the working brain, the Degree, high intelligence, are articulate, principled, accurate and reliable, which none of those sainsburgeries are.
USDAW and Graun/Polly Toynbee next, copying in CEO Simon Roberts.
& would suggest his latest annual pay rise in April, to £5.18 million might afford him time to read about Kidderminster store......😗😙😗😙😗and outstanding employee, Frith.

1. Submitted gas and electricity readings; still hugely in credit.
2. Loving new book, Mark Mills' "House of the Hanged", pressed enthusiastically onto & yesterday by friend. Had never heard of him, but will def.seek out others, by a prestigious awards writer.
3. Thought of you, Dundee Doll, while driving yesterday, and heard an unexpected🌟 round ball result for your team.😃 That was right wasn't it? Also Lainey? - yes, heard yours too.😃
4. Welsh patron of The Alma delighted with a well-stitched Cymru map sampler & acquired at jumble sale.

Good afternoon. Some sun, some rain. Not sure where we are today
Frith - sorry to hear of your troubles, in work and out. Let's hope your complaint document is acted upon
Had a good weekend. Met DS and 2 DGC on Saturday to catch up on news.
Then met DD and DSiL on Sunday - ditto. I do like it when I see them all in one weekend. We're so lucky to live close by them.
DD and I are trying to plan a Christmas shopping day in December. First choice, London, is now ruled out. Trains from our station take under two hours and would have cost almost £200!! Each!! We could easily have flown to Paris and stayed overnight ! Now looking at Manchester. I used to go there for meetings but haven't been for years so think we'll try that. Or Leeds. Or York. All much cheaper options.
This last week we've had hundreds of geese circling round and then landing in the field behind us. They are so NOISY! But we've loved seeing them. The farmer was growing maize but it's been harvested now so we're guessing the geese are clearing the leftovers. I've not seen any today so perhaps they've hoovered it all up now
My mini embroidery is looking good. But then I spent ages yesterday trying to make a little bow to add to it. How hard can that be? Very, it turns out. But I got there in the end using one of the bits of ribbon I always cut out of new tops and store in a jam jar. How MSE am I!
Chilli bubbling away in slow cooker so an easy tea.
Happy afternoon everyone
