Quick pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A day off. I don't normally work on Tuesdays but I did yesterday.
3) Looked round the charity shops but didn't buy anything.
4) Went to the NT to sit in the cafe to do more holiday planning and to try and incorporate a football match. Dortmund is looking likely.
5) Watched The Traitors.6 -
Morning,
So Sorry @DigForVictory I’ve only just seen your comment, my grandchildren are a boy aged 10 and 2 girls aged 8-3.. They all have autism but on different levels. The older 2 haven’t been school since June as they were in Leicestershire and during the summer break they moved to Northamptonshire due to a relationship break with her partner and because of the older ones SEN needs they have to find a school that would be suitable for the children. Northamptonshire school team have been on the ball with getting everything sorted or trying to but Leicestershire were dragging their heals so to speak which is very difficult when trying to get an education for them as they don’t cope in a mainstream school !! Then once a school place has been found it’s then setting up transport for them. In the meantime Northamptonshire council has allocated a Tutor to go to the house. The 3 year old is at nursery here and sometimes I do the take and collecting from nursery but it all depends on what DD is working on.. Throw in 2 dogs 😂 it’s fun 😊 joking aside they are loving xxTrying to change my life and will:money:4 -
Hello.Been a busy day .Up early and I made tablet this morning ( Scottish sweet and traditionally made at this time of year…though can of course be made at any time)
Hung out a washing and then headed down to CP. Had a lovely walk. Was dry but oooh so blooming chilly this morning!Washed out fridge and freezer which I had switched off. Cleaned bathroom there ( water will be going off shortly) and brought bits and pieces…towels, mats home to wash and store here over winter.A couple of nice chats at the carpark. When I arrived and as I was leaving.Quick walk round the field before we left. And home! Delivered tablet! It’s way too sweet for me but I like the tradition of making and the gifting of it, so had a few nice chats with friends as I dropped it in. Got my steps in!And home! Hello doggy! We’ve just shared a very nice tangerine!Whilst the day has been mostly dry there were a light showers when I was out and a beautiful rainbow 🌈6 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to my new doctor's surgery to show my ID. It's in an Edwardian house but somehow all GPs look 1950s! It also has a tiny pharmacy in the car park.
3) Sorted out smaller son's GHIC.
4) Went to Lidl.
5) Made a curry.
6) Watched The Traitors.5 -
Up early. It was so foggy this morning.Dropped off tablet at DD2 work.
Text from DD1 to say her parcel had arrived. 10 days…that’s quite good timing.
Drove to CP in the most horrible fog…until the village before CP where it was a lovely blue skied morning! Then a bit foggy at CP.
Nice walk. Emptied wee bedroom. Everything all washed and currently drying.Home …via tyre place as warning light for tyre pressure was on. That was sorted by four nice chaps who all said hello to dog through the back window! He just loved the attention! Then blooming engine warning light on again so once again at car garage ( got car 2 weeks ago!) and it’s going in on Tuesday as I need it for work on Monday. Sigh and growling!Popped into supermarket. Chatted on way out to old friends. Not seen in ages.
And home. And like a blooming laundry with all the washing.
DD2 arrived looking like she’s here for a week…she’s here over the weekend!Chatted most of the afternoon. And had a nice FaceTime chat with sister in law.She went out with a friend for a wee while. And bedtime for us both.7 -
I was up early this morning, went to DD1 house for nanny duties, DD1 finished work early so I got home around 12. Ran the hoover downstairs, washed the throws and cushion covers, got the dry and back on the sofa and chairs. Had a shower and pjs on, cooked dinner and watched Harry Potter with DS2 then done some cross stitch. XTrying to change my life and will:money:5

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A good old wait on the phone re smaller son. Assessments now have a 12-15 month wait.
3) Went to the GP to get paperwork so can move him to the local surgery too.
4) Went to the JobCentre to take his new ID.
5) All the above done by 10 then I went to the coffee morning! We did the crossword.
6) More admin! Changed my online account to my new bank account. Posted a letter to smaller son's bank.
7) Went to work. It was such a shambles yesterday (I wasn't there) that my colleague just informed the managers she was leaving early and they didn't even try and stop her!
8) Sainsburys order arrived.

Hi.
Just popping in, on my way to bed in a mo.
Some pleasures:
1) Getting over a rubbish cold, stopped being hot and cold and shivery. just bunged up and a bit washed out but broken the back of it.
2) Middle grandson now has two Christmas jobs lined up and a great half-term report from college.
3) Half term next week so life in the 'big house' and therefore in our 'little house' will be much more relaxed.
4) Baby great granddaughter came for a visit; she's grown massively, nearly has two teeth and is crawling and randomly ear-piercingly shrieking. Still does snuggles and cuddles though and that sweet thing thing that all babies seem to do of rubbing her head with both her hands when she is tired. Awww...
5) Spent the evening booking an overnight trip away next week, back to the city where I spent my student days, so a trip down memory lane. Managed to get a couple of great seats to see a musical based on our favourite Monday night quiz, also planned a visit to the museum and art gallery for a lunchtime concert by the Birmingham Royal Conservatoire and a guided tour of the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter. Also hoping for a sneaky non-MSE hour or so in Selfridges then a nice dinner somewhere and home. Just us two this time so hopefully a very full but relaxed couple of days.
And now my bed is beckoning and I'm more than ready for it, hoping to have a good sleep tonight and hope you do too - night night all.6 -
Have a lovely time Highdays grab every chance you can.
my DH and I had so many similar plans but life had other ideas
miss him so much7 -
Oh, Suffolksue, I apologise for being insensitive and blagging on about our forthcoming trip and for any hurt I unintentionally caused.
I, too, know how devastating it can be when 'life has other ideas'. After 26 years of what I had thought of as a happy marriage which turned out to be a total sham, I was forced to go through a painful and brutal divorce which turned my life, my finances and my safe and secure home and family on their head. I thought I would never recover and certainly never dreamed of meeting anyone else, or trusting anyone else ever, after such a betrayal.
As my brother is fond of telling me, I 'landed on my feet' when I met my now DH though it took me a long time and him a lot of patience and understanding to get to where we are now.
I cherish every day and, yes, in trying to make up for lost time we do make deliberate plans to build fun into our lives but I hate the thought that, in detailing them here, I am in any way causing hurt to those whose lives have had to follow a different path not through choice.
Please accept my apologies and a big hug, I would never hurt you for the world x7
