Morning all.
Ooh, what was it yesterday with ladybirds?
Was chatting to middle grandson and he suddenly said 'Oh, look!' and my doors to the garden - inside as well as out - were covered in them. We counted over 25 inside, reckon they had come in through the adjoining open window, and the outsides were covered in them with more flying around.
Hubby once had a nasty ladybird bite which needed antibiotics in the end so we're not keen on being anywhere near them but how strange it happened to others too; was it National Ladybird Day and they were just making their presence felt?!
Last day of childcare for us today, just the school run in the morning and then we are done. It's been lovely to spend so much time with the boys but looking forward now to getting back into our routine - which basically means being very lazy. I'd forgotten how 'full on' it can be - maybe that's why you raise your children in your thirties and not in your seventies!
Have a good day whatever you are up to.

Hello!Up far too early so dozed off again and woke up and it was light!Down to CP this morning for a walk. Via supermarket carpark for one of those locker collections. Had ordered a lovely set from Vinted and hadn’t clicked home delivery. Grrr! Anyway picked up on way.Nice walk. A tad blustery and felt damp though stayed dry whilst we walked.Home and made a pot of soup…carrot and very RTC coriander. Had a bowl for lunch and then DD2 took the rest. And then out to hospital. Oh my goodness trying to get parked was a nightmare! Ended up where we shouldn’t park but everyone else was there too! Bit of a walk and a bit of a wait! ( as there usually is)
And home. Hello doggy! I’m not going out again.Had some RTC Stovies for tea with sprouts and peas. And chat to sister on phone.8 -
PM2MHags. If you put the sprouts on now, they’ll be done by Xmas!

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to see my friend in floody city and had a cup of tea.
3) Got a book about foraging for bigger son's Christmas stocking.
4) Dropped my friend off then I had lunch in the Colombian cafe.
5) Did charity shops and bought a brand new dress, leggings and a bag.
6) Bought a pie from Narroways butcher (of rugby fame).
7) New lawnmower blades arrived.
8) Phoned my school friend.6 -
I did something very out of my comfort zone, and it’s left me very stressed, for want of better words though it’s a good thing to do.
The first casserole of the season was tasty.
Used up some bits and pieces as snacks, I’m quite impressed at making something out of nothing almost.
A stunning full / harvest moon.

Sorry about that DD but good to see a young United side get the win.
For yesterday,
Woke up with blocked sinuses and a bad head which definitely is not a pleasure but had an easy morning which did help.
Field visit to my pony, cool out in the paddocks but dry and she was warm enough without a rug. I’m not clipping her this year and she’s got a decent winter coat coming through, will worry about it coming out again next spring!
Home and couldn’t face lunch so lay down on the sofa for a snooze and only woke up when a JW knocked on our door, needless to say they got short shrift!
Dug out a couple of big spuds and we had them baked for tea.
Watched and enjoyed the Bake off.6 -
I’m sitting in the dark with the glow of the fire and candles (and my iPad screen 😆)
Up early.
We had the vets this morning. Hoovered before we left.H loves the vets so much. He has a wee lump on his face I just wanted checked out and he got his toenails cut! Then proceeded to eat some! 🤢
And got another private prescription for his meds. Saves about £90 a month. Then we went to CP and had a drizzly walk but found a ball so he had a bit of a run after that.FaceTimed DD1 and had a nice chat with her. I had popped into old work and bought a scone to have down at CP.Home about 1pm.Put the fire on as friend was coming round. Had a nice chatter.Had a couple of boiled eggs for tea.
And need to go and make my bed up! Had trusted the weather app and had done a wash this morning thinking it would get out for a blow, nope! Rainy rain!6 -
My dad’s old microwave has sold; it’s been advertised so long I forgot about it!
One of our ferrets came down poorly quickly, antibiotics and painkillers to help this week, and then he needs a dental op next week (£££), we are both nervous, but everything crossed as usual. The pleasure here being our vet.
We needed to pop out as running low on fuel and bits but rushed back to make sure he was tolerating the drugs, and he was soundo in a lovely sleep, no cares in the world about how worried we are.
“Smashed” aka flattened rtc burger and ciabatta all from the freezer was tea.
Feeling a bit dis-enchanted at the energy bills, as we are doing what we can but still spending the energy budget each month no matter what we do. Our next move is switching from our now broken leccy kettle to a gas top kettle.
