A day of new beginnings, but we aren’t sure what just yet.
We agreed to close our business as things have moved on, we may do something new but who knows at the moment, so it was all closed today, websites, bank account and the official paperwork to company’s house etc. But so many new costs involved now even behind the scenes, subscription charges coming in this year just for dormant accounts, so enough was enough, even a cost to shut it, is daft putting it very politely.
Dinner tonight is Cumberland sausages, mash with veggies and gravy was very tasty.
Listed a couple of items on the bay to sell on.
Applied for a couple of roles.
Arranged to meet with DB soon, just sorted the details today.
Secondhand washing machine picked up and is starting its long journey to catching us up on washing.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned the bathroom, which I had been putting off.
3) Went to Sainsbury's cafe with smaller son to sit under the air conditioning.
4) Came back home and a disembodied voice said "hello" and it was bigger son, waiting for us in the garage!
5) Used the tomatoes i dried to make a quiche for dinner then we made a Hello Fresh recipe for tea.
6) Went with my brother to work and walked round Lapworth while he was working. Found a geocache, had a drink in the pub and walked along the canal. Talked to his colleague a bit after I made him jump when I returned in the dark.5 -
For yesterday,
To carry on a theme phew what a scorcher!Jobs done first thing including bathrooms cleaned.
My girlie was laying down asleep in her stable when I got there, didn’t get up when I walked in so just sat on her back and took a photo. Few horsey chores done then we listened to a podcast together.
Home and lunch for me & C dog, much too warm in the garden for either of us so stayed in the cool. Snoozes were enjoyed.
A very welcome breeze got up around 5 so pottered around outside. Easy tea of chicken salad then watched a bit of cricket plus caught up on Only Connect.7 -
Me again?For yesterday,
Into town for a quick food shop and noticed that the horse chestnut leaves are already brown & falling, the days march away.
A tiny wren having a quick dip in the bird bath, we rarely see them but often hear their call in the garden.
The Crocosmia has been gorgeous this year, not the Lucifer variety but a much more mellow orange and comes from plants originally in DM’s garden.
C dog’s personality is really starting to shine as she continues to settle in.
Late night walk around the garden, enjoying the cool air and looking at the stars.6 -
Pleasures for yesterday
1-5 DGS2 smashed his A levels and got more than needed to confirm his Degree Apprenticeship in Automotive Engineering with a prestigious English Firm
he was also re offered his first choice university which he’d had to decline so as to accept the apprenticeship offer
So proud he’s worked hard7 -

Morning all.
Oh, that's brilliant news, Suffolksue, lovely that all your lad's hard work has paid off. What a relief to get the results and to be able to get on with his future plans and it sounds like he's got himself an amazing opportunity. Proud granny moment indeed!
Some pleasures:
1) My mouth is SO much better. The whole process is going to take a lot longer than I thought initially but happy to take it a step at a time and will get there in the end. So far so good.
2) Had an urge - in all this heat - to do some baking. Madness, but we are stocked up with cakes and cookies, thankfully most are tucked away in the freezer and I had a fun afternoon in the cool of the kitchen.
3) Chats with my brother to make plans for our weekend away this weekend. Weather should be good, sunny but a bit cooler.
4) Taking little fella out this afternoon to a local NT spot with a fab play area in woodland, hopefully nice and cool in the shade of the trees and I'm sure ice cream will be consumed.
5) Looking at some lovely cottages for a week away in the Wye Valley area next Spring. Want to explore the Hay-on-Wye, Ludlow, Hereford, Shrewsbury areas. Nice to start planning ahead, we are pretty much booked up with holidays, weekends away and suchlike for this year, need to do it while we can!
Right, coffee time and then a bit of pottering and packing. Have a good day.7 -
Thanks Highdays yes hes v happy

Good afternoon. 🌞 again
Suffolk Sue - congratulations to your DGS. So pleased his hard work paid off.
My own happy grandparent moment. DGD operation has gone well. A very long day when she was in surgery, but two days later she's sitting up and eating breakfast. What a star! And what a relief!
Happy 🌞 day everyone5 -
That’s great news Happycas ,
waiting for grandchildren to have surgery is just as hard as it was waiting for your own children
