Another 2 wash loads by hand, I’ve asked after a couple of second-hand washing machines on marketplace, just weighing up between Bosch and Samsung, the Bosch is winning, hoping to keep writing this, so I don’t have to go and finish the washing load.
Pulled up another 2 “carrots”, and added it to the meal tonight, I also remembered to get chicken out to defrost as I’ve a hankering for making curry. Tonight's food was a “surprise” from the raffle win called “spicy meat” and we have no idea what it was!!
Gathered some bits to sell on the bay just need to write up the adverts, and accumulated piles of clothes for the tip run next week.
Applied for a couple of very different roles.

Good morning,
Wednesday pleasures…very similar to Tuesday.
Up and at em and out to CP. lovely walk and swim and another lovely walk before we left. Was dry but very breezy.Finished one book and then started another. However the breeze helped to almost dry the washing again! I’m very late getting it out as it’s my swimming stuff so I’m not putting a load on until I’m home.Had to nip out for an appointment and popped into supermarket on way home. Bought two bunches of flowers…red roses for 15p and red carnations for 30p and a RTC salad box and fruit box for my caravan lunch.Chat to niece on the phone.5 -
For yesterday,
Not a pleasure as such, cold shower first thing as our boiler has stopped working, luckily we have an immersion heater. Engineer is coming tomorrow, asked if heating was working, errm it’s summer so who knows!
Into horsey town to drop off some unused bags & purses at CS and rug at equine laundromat.
C dog still hasn’t barked but makes this strange huffing noise as she bounces around the garden. Might be a case of careful what you wish for.
Salmon for tea, rare treat nowadays but managed to pick some up rtc.
Tried to watch the hundred but as a format I’m just not that interested, did catch up on Only Connect.4 -
We popped out to pick up some bird logs, wood pellet litter from the Range around the corner, popped to pets at home to pick up lick e lix blue ones on offer as the very old girl seems to nigh on live on these.
I was watching Swizzel beg our old girl to play with her, it’s getting Daim interested and she’s started moving toys about as well, I would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it.
The aldi shop was a nice surprise for the first time in a long time, it was a weekly shop, and chicken for the animals, some various bits and bobs we were getting anyway were reduced, making four bags of shopping for £45 reasonable to us.
I changed our bedding, which leads me onto the washing machine hunt well, we found a second hand one, and suddenly realised we need to work out how to transport it as it can’t be laid over, but I do wonder how many people do and get away with it. I also found a great free one and it was legitimate, but DH didn’t trust it, so we left it to someone else.
Grilled up a fair bit of chicken, some for the curry tonight, and some for sandwiches tomorrow. Made a curry using a red curry kit we had in and I’m so glad I tried the sauce, and then got DH to check as it was revolting I think even the bin complained, so I found the last jar of curry sauce, cooked up brown rice with turmeric and some frozen mixed veg through it for interest.

Hello…oh where are the long light nights going? Dark at 9.45pm…sad face!Usual schmusual kind of day!Walk ( had to shelter under a tree as it started pouring) and then swim. Oh my goodness we were in the pool for 2.5 hours! Just chatting and swimming! It was lovely. Sun had came out and it’s just the most relaxing thing . Love it! Back for a hot shower! Then another nice and dry walk before we left. Was literally just in the door and a work call came in for a new service. So called the family to make arrangement to meet them.Washing out late and had a blow but brought it in as it had started to rain.Chat to friend on phone.Did some work admin. Printed out next service and prepped for new family so should mean I don’t need to work over weekend.Picked some lavender and verbena when we were just out in the garden. My daughter had picked the biggest bunch of lavender the other day…I suddenly morphed into my mother…that’s enough!8

4) Made French toast and blueberries for lunch.
5) Downloaded stuff on my new phone and logged in to everything.

Evening all 😊
I’ve been quiet as we’ve been very busy decluttering, cleaning and titivating (I love that word) the house and finally had the estate agent round to value it. The house has never looked so nice and tidy, I could almost buy it 🤣. We were pleasantly surprised at the valuation, although don’t think we will get that, but I signed up as we were happy with them when OHs mum’s house sold. Photographer and EPC check on Monday, so it all seems real now! We’ll go down to the coast to look at some more bungalows next week.
Managed to meet up with my BFF for lunch after the hygienist (☹️) on Wednesday.
We did another car boot sale on Sunday and plan to do another one this Sunday. So much stuff to sort/ get rid of. Never again! I am enjoying a less cluttered house 😊
have a good 💤 everyone .6 -
titivating is indeed an excellent word @PaulieHerts
1) woke at 6 (m'eh) but clearly fell back to sleep and next thing it was 8:30 yay
2) a good day at work - despite all the m'eh going on the team is amazing
3) scallops and prawns with linguine for breakfast and lunch served with lightly boiled 'stir fry' - scallops and stir fry ys
4) after work meeting with deputy (who I went to China and Thailand with) and previous boss - a good laugh
5) then Dundee Utd with MrG and DrM - very good match and lovely eveningMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
