Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and one egg!
3) Rather surprised that bigger son agreed to sign up for the National Citizenship Scheme. All done and paid for so just waiting to hear from the local organiser.
4) Tasty tea of chips from the van and I made an Eton mess for pudding.
5) Watched Gogglebox and the Last Leg.
6) Bigger son had a reasonable evening at work.0 -
Good morning Lovelies,
Frith DS2 did NSS last summer. Had a great time.
Recent Pleasures....can’t remember last time I made a list, so apologies for repetition!
1. Wore my red dress on Wednesday, which I love, but don’t enjoy the comments it invites. :rotfl: I like to wear black, and be invisible.
2. ‘Love, Simon’ at the cinema. Comp tickets. Nice gentle, feelgood film.
3. DD has enjoyed looking after a young girl with special needs this week. I hope she is able to do another ski season in November. She has really loved the experience.
4. Still trying to keep up with my Lent challenge to tackle a shelf, draw, box etc per day. I have tried to empty a box of stuff in my office every night this week before home. Brought home 3 empty boxes which I am using to organise my wardrobe better, and I have transferred some files to a space created in a cupboard. Makes me happy.:)
5. DS2 has gone to Manchester for the weekend. Nice to see him getting out and about. He has just worked and slept since the breakup with GF.
Going to friends house for Earth Hour tonight.......will report back. :eek:0 -
Had a good day.
1. Went to London with my sister. I paid for a photography exhibition- Gursky who does really large photos at the South bank. It was really good and we spent a couple of hours there. it was something i wouldn't normally have gone to.It was for her birthday.
2. We then went to the Tate modern and looked round the Picasso exhibition there. My sister is a member so it was free.
3. Had a good catch up with her and lunch which wasn't too expensive as both had a vegetarian option which is cheaper.
4. When I parked at the station I parked in the station car park and parking was £6.20. I had to go back to my car to hunt for more change when a lorry parked on the road outside the station drove away so I went and parked in the road for free.
5. DS2 has a new car to him. Leaving things to the last minute I had texts throughout the day asking about various things to do with it.0 -
Friday pleasures,
Listening to Martin Freeman on R2 talking about his new film, love his voice but doubt will see the film as apparently v scary.
Pink and yellow primroses on a bank at the side of the road.
Driving into Cambridge and some yarnstormers had decorated various posts along the cycle way between two villages.
My lovely hairdresser sorted out my mop, lots of laughs and a lovely cup of tea.
Felt rough and went to bed early with HWB.
Extra pleasure of Mcc posting again.0 -

Friday pleasures,.
Extra pleasure of Mcc posting again.
Oh gosh, thank you.
Frith, my DGD did NCS last summer and got an incredible amount out of it, she loved the whole experience.
Catering for herself, helping to organise a charity fundraiser locally, making new friends and finding her own way around a new, very urban locality.
Not much else to report on the pleasures front, but I've had some good little freebies land from Am@zon, and work is going ahead nicely.
I'll share this here for those who missed it on FB:
I have got used to the voice to text on my iPhone suggesting “should/would/could/might of” for “have”.
Why it should do this, I have no idea.
However, it has just excelled itself.
My advice to a client of:
“This could be useful in the future“ came out as:
“This could be useful if you f*<€ up.”
Good job I was paying attention. :rotfl:Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
V BoP had breakfast agin of snorker, best back, toms and beans. Fried tattles and poached egg on hot buttered toast!
4 Just bin out to get BoPsie bits. She saved a fortune! Nothing nought. I tried a t shirt, but if they size things as L, M, and S, I don’t know whether it will fit. They were left on the shelf!
3 We nipped into co op for dog roll snack, and a bit of chocolate. Tum is well fed!
PM2DD BoP is now watching recordings of Tom and Jerry. No further updates. Was going to say Bless You, but ...
Time for some ...0 -
A busy day so glad to sit down whilst it's bath time again and everyone's upstairs!
Woke up extra early. Then dozed off after pretending to be still asleep when GN got up too early...she went back to bed.
A few games of Easter noughts and crosses ( bunnies and chicks ) which I won most off though she did put a lot of thought into where she was placing her bunnies.
Then we went into town, murder to get parked. Ended up outside the library . Walked in to town from there and had lunch. She is a fusspot. I'm used to my kids eating what they've ordered. Even at a young age. She didn't. Grrrrr. I had a blooming baked potato !
Then I picked up a tree I'd bought at florists. A willow.
Then we went to theatre to see friends daughter in a show. It was very good but also very expensive for a kids show I thought but think probably more expensive as in theatre. We had reserved seats. Cue winge-ing from people behind ! I'd to move along though as I just could not see past the person in front. I hope no one has ever felt that about me!
Then back to car with GN clutching her raffle prize and me carrying my tree! Went to a couple of retail park shops. Bought DD2 a laptop. And me a couple of cushions and 2 RTC frames for prints I'd bought a couple of months ago.
Home! Having phoned DS & asked him to put the tea in oven! Pizza.
That child will be in bed by 8pm tonight ! No tears like last night I hope. Slightly squeezed out at times!
Its been a beautiful day here. Mild and sunny.0 -

2) Had a meditation that actually went OK. (Body appreciation)
3) Regained another square foot of living space by taking more stuff to the charity shop.
4) Appreciating yesterday's kitchen sort, and working in a tidier kitchen today (the newly stocked spice rack gives me a particular little pleasure ,,,, yes sad, yes true).
5) A rare Chinese take-away from our favourite but inconveniently distant chinese. (Husband trekked out to collect it._party__party_0
