Morning…I was almost at the end of writing my post last night when it just blooming disappeared.Anyway yesterday was a quiet day.Had vets in afternoon for annual boosters. A couple of ageing related issues…eyes, couple of lumps and bumps, joints but he was diagnosed as a very lovely boy so we’ll go forward with that!Walks.
Had a gammon joint in the slow cooker and had it with veggies.
Hoovered, washed floors and cleaned my bathroom. Being in control of what I can at the moment when I have 2 extra people and an extra dog and the associated stuff that’s came with them
Friend popped along with two little cheese scones for me, just out the oven. But I’d just had a big dinner so I’ll have them this morning!Happycas birthday wishes re-extended for today.9 -
Morning all
it was sunny on Sunday so we went down to the coast to have a look round at possible sites for our move. We were looking at new build bungalow plots. It was lovely and sunny up on the Naze at Walton and we made the most of it with tea/coffee and carrot cake. After a sit in the sunshine ☀️ and a short stroll we had a wander down Frinton high street. Nice atmosphere everywhere we went 😊. We then had a meal at a small Italian restaurant recommended by my friend who has moved down there. Nice spaghetti gamberoni and a chicken dish for OH and you could bring your own wine 🍷!
Yesterday was very dull so I did the shopping at Lidls and hung the washing on the airer.
Today OH has the day off as he is going to the solicitors with his sister re his mum and I’m meeting a friend at a garden centre, postponed for 2 weeks because of the lurgy!
have a good day everyone 😊6 -
Aww PaulieH when I stayed with my grandparents during the school summer holidays Grandad would always drive us to Frinton for a day at the seaside, happy memories.
For yesterday,
A morning of errands, food shopping, bird food and I got the car washed before tidying it up inside.
Arrangements made to meet up with friends, pleasures anticipated.
It was a grey, wet day so a huzzah for decent waterproof coats along with good welly boots, mud season is upon us.
Someone’s pony had been rubbing against her fencing so had orange stripes on her neck from the creosote 🙈 search through our bucket of products to deal with and another huzzah for a yard with a hot wash!
Tasty tea of roasted squash & veg with squeaky cheese with enough leftover veg to make soup for another day.7 -
Hope you had a really happy birthday @Happycas.4

Hello. I’ve taken myself off to bed! I’ve pulled a muscle or pulled a something in my shoulder blade area that’s making me feel a bit sick! I’ve a dodgy shoulder joint anyway and this is just too much sore! So I’ve just taken painkillers and prescribed myself a very early night!Up early.
Doggy walk.
A lot of here , there and everywhere with DD2. Trying to sort stuff out for the house of horror. Absolutely stinks of damp ( because it’s absolutely damp!) got stuff sorted out with insurance company. Went to kitchen showrooms x 3. One very nice chap, one couldn’t really be jigged chap and one girl with incredibly long eyelashes ( I got my kitchen with the one with the very nice chap! ) Got a roll of wallpaper to do my bathroom wall…however not doing it anytime soon with this shoulder! Was glad to get eventually home.Brought washing in. Still damp but slightly drier than it was. On radiators and clothes horses…much easier keeping up with washing when it’s just me ( I said to my sister yesterday that I don’t know how I coped when it was five of us! ( shoes/coats etc ….think I nagged a lot 😆)
Put log burner on for a wee while.
I had RTC chicken Kiev thingies ( cheese and ham) with veggies…the guests can sort themselves ( I did offer)
Wheh we went over to her house ( waiting on a chap coming to measure something) we both needed the loo…there’s no running water/ electricity) so we went into a pub…what we’d call in Scotland an old man’s pub! Oh my goodness! They all turned round to look at us as we came in ( strangers in the village 😆)…me, hi…can we use your loo! Yes. Then we got to loo and realised it was only one loo…and then I couldn’t find toilet roll and anyway we had a laugh at the absurdity of it all! And then they all stared as we said thank you and left!7 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep, though I woke up a bit too early.
2) Went to town of my birth and had a pot of tea in Waitrose and bought some pumpkin fairy lights.
3) Went round all the charity shops and, in the last 2, found some walking boots (as new) then the sort of tank top (?) in wool that you would wear over a t shirt in the winter.
4) Spent much of the afternoon making several jars of lemon curd.
5) Watched Great British Bake Off.6 -
For yesterday,
Made a batch of bread dough and while it was proving popped out to sales arm of local garage to discuss what I want car wise, basically the same as I have now just newer!
Home and whizzed the hoover round upstairs.
Driving to the yard and listening to Uncanny on Sounds, ghostly stories for Samhain.
The beautiful grey one hasn’t quite adjusted to the clocks going back and was standing at her gate waiting, calling as she saw me walking to the paddocks. Bit of work done in the school and left her munching happily on hay net.
Watched and enjoyed Bake Off, our treat this week was molten core cookie dough with spiced ice-cream.

For yesterday
1 Not sure this is a pleasure considering the shockingly eye watering amount it cost, but today finished off a front crown at the dentist a pleasure it’s complete I might have done the old making sure the teeth are as white i.e. not tea stained as possible.
2 Did the weekly shop at aldee.
3 Got the rest of the glue up in the bathroom, hoovered, sugar soaped, and dh started making a template for the floorboards, while I cleaned up the now empty unit
4 Chicken fajita build your own wrap for tea.
5 Fresh bedding for the animals tonight and usual matching wash loads.
For today
1 Up early and might have nigh on had another half hour nap
2 A call about a promising role.
3 Easy pasta bake for tea
4 Another office pile sorted and a whole bag of recycling created, its good to see progress just a little at a time.
5 I found a recipe for making your own mr or er mrs whippy, I may have put the basic ingredients on the list.

Morning! Another night of going to bed early.Yesterday was up and out early with DD2. We had an appointment at 8am I did not like the motorway traffic. I’m still carrying inner trauma from our car crash in 2012 and I get very anxious in fast busy traffic ( and I wasn’t driving which means I wasn’t in control of the brake…though my foot was still braking much to my daughter’s annoyance 😆)
Met a friend who died 17 years ago’s daughter. Not seen her in a long time so that was nice.
Got a work phone call ( thankfully as it’s been a couple of weeks!)
Had a chicken thingy from freezer ( which I wouldn’t have again but it’s eaten and created a tiny bit of space) with veggies for tea.Chat with neighbour across road as I thought I was the only one who’d put my bin out ( and she said she was only putting hers out as she’d seen mine😆) I’d had to double check the date! And early to bed!8
