Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Lost 3lbs last week. That is 19lbs now.
3) Mended the electrocutey fridge light!
4) Hummus and salad for tea then had one of yesterday's cooked chicken thighs with some more salad. Smaller son had his chicken thighs sliced with stuffing and gravy in some sandwiches.
5) Worked 4-8 with 2 different ladies. (How will I ever remember all the names?)
6) In unlikely but lovely news - smaller son WALKED TO MY WORK to see what I do! 2 miles walk and the first time he has EVER been out unaccompanied in 21 years. I'm still a bit shocked.
7) Looking forward to the Fast Show later.10 -
Frith - great weight loss and lovely progress for smaller son 😊6

We have a whole strange extra day to ourselves as we weren’t supposed to be coming back until today, but with a force 8 gale with the rain rolling in it seemed ridiculous to stay for the hell of it so we set of back late last night, in what was a lovely journey in effect following traffic through and literally just in front of the weathering.
1The weekend was lovely over in Somerset, with lovely people at a heritage show.
2 Credit to tech, DH had his phone and cash stolen – gits! We were able to use an app to track his phone and recover it from a hedge 55 miles away! Saving us the cost of a new phone and driving licence, but the cash was long gone, thankfully there was much less in there than we had planned which is a big plus. The bank wasn’t quite so good as they don’t allow for the phone and card to go missing, which I thought would be an obvious set-up, but it was eventually sorted.
3 Disorientated being back a day early is a bizarre feeling, we ran some errands, and used one of the drop-off lockers for the first time, feeling old, but it was very easy.
4 Ordering in tonight.
5 I went to pay the car tax which was less than I had rounded it too for paying in full. Then I also got the gas and electric in and up to date and didn’t faint! But I will fix into a tariff tomorrow.
6 One box of old family photos boxed into a “smaller box”, clearing a little space, and 2 folders on the coffee table have been made into one. A full bag of recycling created from the office – progress.

Pleasures a bit thin at the moment !
A great pleasure was to be the new heating boiler was all finished and fine but…
it was a much bigger job than thought ( moving from loft to kitchen )apologies if I’ve already said but lots of pipework had to be replaced so £700 more than estimate !
today’s disaster is that it now looks as though 6 radiators will also need replacing.I am dreading the estimate for that .
Not politics but am dreading the budget and revising mine all the time
I know I can’t take it with me but would like to enjoy life just a little ,seems to be one expense after another ,my flippant joke that I’d have a fine new system but not be able to afford to use it doesn’t sound so funny .
constant rain and wind is helping either
.
right must find at least some pleasures
enjouying two new books ,one for my book group and one a friend has lent me
I’m away on a mini break next week and it’s all paid for ,
wrote a quiz for my quiz group last week and it was well received
banked

Fab pics AmpsMonumental day for small son Frith
Gggrrr re bank PK and the heating expense SSue.For yesterday,
A very soggy trip into horsey town, visit to the emporium for provisions and a quick coffee with pal.
Other errands run, all with a waterproof on and hood up! In happier news my anemone is finally flowering, will try for a picture when dry.
At the yard and the beautiful grey one had a visit from the farrier, couldn’t go into the shelter of the hot wash as people were bringing their horses in and needed to use it so we all stood in the rain. My horse shoved her face into my chest as if to say enough now Mum, finally done and back into her stable with a big hay net and a warm fleece on.
Quick tea of rtc fresh tuna and stir-fry veg, leftover crumble for afters. Big crash from outside and one of the beech trees had lost a large branch, farmer will sort it today.
Tested brain with Uni Challenge and then, inspired by DFV, we rewatched the 2015 Christmas special of the Detectorists, if there was one programme I wish they would bring back…..7 -
Frith, that is remarkable news about small son walking to your work and what better way for him to show you how immensely proud of you he is that his curiosity brought him to your work!5

Frith, Lovely to read of your son walking to your work. Hope you are enjoying the new role.
DfV, Humble Bundle, are online and release bundles of things like, online books, software, and gaming, so for October they might release something like a bundle of Halloween books, where you can buy part or all the bundle and choose how much of your money goes to donation. I’ve used it for software and books. They market hard to gamers and comics, as I am guessing that is where the money is at.
DH has said he would like to go back to a campsite we went back in 2003, when our first venture into camping was a trailer tent, hmm this is going to be interesting trying to re track to if we can find it, if it still exists etc.
1 Ordered in some bird food as it ran out today.
2 I gave a rest to the decluttering today, as I noticed DH was starting to rebel. So for the office instead I tidied a bit, hoovered, washed the window and sill twice as it was grubby, and filed away the actual filing paperwork.
3 Fresh bedding for us and the animals, but I am resorting to the tumble dryer on this occasion.
4 Fixed us into an Octopus deal, no exit fees, so nothing to lose.
5 Using up chicken and salad, popped some aunt bessie mini roasties with it to make it a meal.
