For yesterday,
Another rough night with small dog needing to get up several times and of course she sleeps upstairs with us & can’t go up the stairs by herself….carrying a spaniel upstairs at 3am who will insist on licking your face all the time….
Into horsey town and got a small food shop plus picked up our new bedside lamps.
Over to see the beautiful grey one, decent day weather wise so bit of work done in the lunge pen and left her to have a doze in the stable.
Out to farm shop for a late lunch with beloved and then we both had a cheeky nap on the sofa.
Capt S left at 9pm as he was also doing the count, I set myself up on the sofa with blanket, drinks etc and stayed up to watch the drama unfold.7 -
Quick pleasures for yesterday (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Waitrose for the free newspaper and the prize crossword.
3) Did a tiny bit of gardening in the afternoon and talked to my neighbour over the fence.
4) Took smaller son to vote at 6pm. He was very nervous then very full of it afterwards!
5) Went to the count at 10. Stayed until 3am.
6) Back home and watched on the television with smaller son until 5am. We had a fist bump when Rees-Mogg went!

Rain, rain , rain but it stopped about 1pm so thankfully was able to get a washing out!Pup dropped off. Picked up for walk. Dropped off from walk. And picked up to go home! More of the same next week!Did some admin stuff for work and spoke to a very helpful chap on the phone…after I got through eventually to a human!Quick chat to sister.Snoozette.Late lunch so didn’t need tea.Just picked some lavender. If I’d moved house 4 weeks ago I wouldn’t have seen it in bloom. It’s my very favourite plant.6 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Saw the sun rise. Went to bed listening to the radio. Up with the alarm at 9.
2) Went to play chess at the theatre and had a cup of tea.
3) Took another lady home (she was carrying the bags with all the coffee morning stuff in). So tired I got to the roundabout BY MY HOUSE and went the wrong way. We could have ended up in Wolverhampton as I didn't notice for 5 minutes!
4) Watched various election reports on tv.
5) A buzzard landed in next door's garden and was mobbed by loads of magpies and crows.
6) Went back to the leisure centre (which I left at 3am) to play table tennis!
7) Half watched the football and fell asleep for 10 minutes.7 -
1 The scan for Fuse happened and he had glowing behaviour reports, and lots of cuddles on the way home. The scan has showed he still has problems, we are playing telephone tag with the vets at the moment with various bad phone reception areas, The wallet is now on a diet, well when it comes to us, but not for the animals, could be said.
2 I went through our d.debits, and decided to freeze my leisure centre gym membership, I use it for classes and their swim pool, but I haven’t been able to make the most of it after not being in reasonable health, so I have lowered it to a 5 pound per month in the hope of getting back and saving us a bit.
3 Freezer to pan, seafood risotto, I added in some extra prawns and sugar snaps, clears another drawer in the freezer, and it’s the one ready meal that won’t be purchased even on rtc ever again.
4 While waiting for the scan, I did go in b and m for animal puppy pads in bulk and picked up a few things such as drinking choc which is a pound cheaper there than named supermarkets and some rtc 40p baps. And did sit outside Greggs with a tea and sandwich watching the world go by.
5 At least I don’t need to water the garden with this weather.

For yesterday (Friday)
Capt S home from the count at 4.30am, was surprised to see me still up! But then I went to bed until 8ish.
Over to see my equine girlie and she was laying down, fast asleep, in her stable when I got there. Sat next to her for a while and leant into her big old side, she’s so gentle it never occurs to me to be worried by her size.
Home and tired but had a hair appointment in Uni City so drove in, nearly fell asleep when lovely hairdresser was cutting but managed to stay awake and grateful for the coffee he made me before the drive home.
Dug around in the freezer and found a cottage pie that I’d popped in there a few months back so that was an easy tea.
Watched first football game but admitted defeat for the second and headed off to bed.6 -
Up and at ‘em early and on the beach at 5.30am. Beautiful sunrise behind us. Quite big patches of fog which looked nice over the fields ( and not too bad driving through) lovely walk. Saw a heron catching the early worms.Home by 7am.Wrote a list of things to do today. And all of them done. The sun has been shining. Which has been most pleasant. Did have a heavy shower about an hour after I’d hung out washing but it soon dried up again.Have hoovered and washed floors. Cleaned bathrooms. Cut grass. Hoovered car ( half a beach inside it) cleaned door sills and window sills. Ironed.Had a mince round with potato croquettes and veg for early tea. It suits my tummy better to eat earlier. But the main pleasure was seeing the sunshine. And it wasn’t particularly warm, I have had a jumper on all day! But nice to have doors open and be outside without getting soaked!7

Good morning. It's 🌞 at last
A busy week!
New carpet fitted in lounge/ dining room. A big job which we've been putting off but really needed doing and looks loads better now. Bit neurotic about shoes/ coffee/ wine/ crumbs now but that won't last.
And next day had the drive cleaned and resanded. Again, put off for as long as possible (we don't like upheaval😂) But again, much better now. Almost worth leaving things until desperately needed, because then the change really ' shows itself'
I had a haircut. That hadn't reached crisis point. Gone for a little longer style and I like it. The price keeps going up though!
And then DD 'home hen do' for those who didn't go to Porto. A lovely afternoon in a local wine bar. Good company and lots of laughs but, in my case, too many espresso martinis ( only 2 ,honest) so I took ages to get to sleep last night. Still woke at silly o'clock this morning though, as ever was.
Sunday today so croissants for breakfast
Happy 🌞 Sunday everyone5
