3) Popped to little Tesco.
4) Watched the Switzerland v Italy match then a bit of the Denmark v Germany match (stopped temporarily by lightning).
5) Spoke to my school friend.
6) House quite tidy,5 -
For yesterday,
With a 4am wee break for small dog we all had a bit of lie-in until 8, then the treat of smoked salmon bagels for breakfast.
Lovely morning weather wise, some work done in the garden including the never ending job of clearing the path of weeds. One of the two new rose bushes that we got from the nursery last year is flowering away and smells wonderful, the other not so but is putting on lots of growth.
As always time spent with the beautiful grey one, she had rubbed against the fencing again and had go faster creosote stripes so yet another bath, this is why her Mum uses gentle soap and not coat oil stripping shampoos!
Listening to TMS and got home just in time to see India win.
Payday takeaway for tea, with a cold beer and lots of footie to watch.6 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Delivered more leaflets. One man said he would like a leaflet (I always say hello and ask, if people are in their garden). Then he made a big show of ripping it up in front of me - like I care!
3) Picked more blackcurrants.
4) Made chicken and pesto toasties for lunch, that were slightly hotter than lava.
5) MrM was to come to watch the football at 5 but his road was shut and evacuated due a bomb threat and he couldn't go home. So he came here early.
6) My brother came for the football also. I made potato wedges then fairy cakes.
7) My brother put tree guards round my little Lidl and Tesco fruit trees as the muntjacs keep eating them.
8) Wore my new charity shop Seasalt "Sailor" dress and I think it'll be worn until it falls apart!
9) Watched the England match v Slovakia.
10) Watching Glastonbury now.6 -

Went to our little theatre to see a 70/80s cover band. Very good, esp guitarists. Sang along to a few and jigged about in my seat. Just like old times - well, nearly😂
Met DD and fiance for brunch at a lovely new cafe where they work. Had a nourish bowl. Get me! Healthy eating! Was very delicious.
Lots of washing line dried.
Used up lots of bitsas from the freezer. Nearly looking sensible in there now.

For yesterday,
Early morning cuddles with small dog and a v welcome first cup of tea.
Bacon butties then over to see my pony, sorted her medication along with my friend’s mare and gave her a good groom.
Home, quick change and then headed out for lunch at youngest DN’s. They have just moved into a new house, an Edwardian villa that needs a fair bit of work but oh my it’s lovely, four big bedrooms and three reception rooms, she was talking me through their plans and think it’s going to be rather special. Other family were there and enjoyed a good catch up.
We listened to the first half of the football on the way home and clearly didn’t miss much! All was well in the end but we will need to be better.
Cooler evening so pulled up blanket over sheet at bedtime and snuggled up to read.

Hello. It lashed with rain all night and all morning. Stopped about 2pm…checked the weather app and stripped my bed! It’s forecast for rain all week. So it’s still having a blow outside ( oh because it’s also very windy!) but will need to remember before I go up to bed to remake it…I only have one set of bedding the rest is packed in a box!Anyway I went into town this morning. Keeping an eye out in a local charity furniture place. Need a new to me sofa after getting rid of one as it would be too long for new house ( sigh) anyway they had one on their FB page but it was sold by the time I got there. I do not want to spend money on a new one whilst I have a hairy dog!Walked over to other charity shop and got a lovely chartreuse coloured linen top and a pair of wide legged black trousers which can be used for work or going out…whichever comes first 😆 top has been washed and ironed and put away with all the other linen tops I ironed .
Went to Lidl as I was down that end of town ( totally opposite end to me) . I had a £5 off a £25 voucher however it was very clear I was not going to spend it. Probably in normal circumstances I would have bought meat to use up the money however I don’t have many cooking options as yep…everything is packed in a blooming box! Anyway I’d asked the chap in front of me in the queue if he was likely to spend £25 which he didn’t think he would but it came to just over so I gave him my voucher. ( was about to expire) so he was delighted and that was my good deed for the day.And I bought two £1.50 boxes of fruit and veg! Yay! Never had them before but I got ( between the 2) 8 bananas, 3 peppers, 3 avocados, 5 big potatoes, 4 red potatoes, 8 apples, 6 pears, 6 tomatoes,3 oranges and 7 nectarines. So I was rather chuffed with my haul and my challenge to myself is to use it up. So far today I’ve had a pear, an apple and three nectarines. And I baked three of the big potatoes. Had one and I’ll pop the other two in the fridge . And whilst oven was on I put in a RTC chicken pie and had that for tea. With veggies.Whilst I was in supermarket I met a friend so stood and chatted for blooming ages!Eventually home and hello doggy…quick wee for him then time for his lunch ( whilst I ate fruit 😇)
Then set my timer on phone and did 15 minutes blocks of chores! Hoovered downstairs and upstairs. . Cleaned bathroom. Office stuff ( shredding / putting everything away after service on Friday) ironed. All whilst late lunch / early tea was in the oven.Watched Greys Anatomy in between the 15 minute blocks ( for 15 minutes)
Need to go and bring in the bedding off the line. And make bed…that’s the worst bit! The best bit is going to bed in clean sheets!6 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to MrM's friend's house to see him as his house is still cordoned off. He hasn't been able to get in since Saturday morning!
3) Came home and cleaned splodges of ceiling paint off the light fittings downstairs.
4) Hacked undergrowth back around the fruit trees.
5) Made a shepherds pie and a banana cake.
6) My friend came round with some more leaflets to distribute and I've been invited to the count on Thursday night as an observer! I'm quite looking forward to it.
7) Watching the Portugal match now with smaller son.
Very tired today.4 -
Osps various, from outside a pizza express+1hr free ykw -1. Aerial battle: 1 raptor vs 2 corvids+a piece of &'s grainy bread. Clever displacement tactics. Corvid 1 distracted raptor, so corvid 2 could fly low then high, up into trees and nest of sticks.2. Very rtc emporium fish pie is 'lish. Began life at £4.99, & paid 90p.3. & suggestion - 'Property Upkeep Services', please don't sign-write your van with only those 3 letters, each a metre high, close together and massively predominant!😁4. Having spent an early hour taking in underarm seams on a bright orange and white summery cs dress, now being worn+cardie, it's been raining for most of the afternoon.😁 English summer, of course.5. Wimbledon round ball happyland listening for &.🎾 Wunderkind Alcaraz perfectly tested by Estonian qualifier Layal, sporting an extraordinary coiffure - shaved sides and back of head, with a blond dreadlock topknot cluster! Next, Emma Raducanu was also well tested, by a late change of opponent! Both these young players are only 21, both still learning their craft. This needs to be remembered. And 2nd seed Coco Gauff, in her 5th Wimbledon aged 20, has just breezed (largely) through!Rain persistent now. Yes, of course & watered everything this morning.😏
Bonne nuit!
