  • 5 Snowed in at last, so working at the mill from home! And work is done for the day as well! So it is now POET time!

4 As BoP was working from home, a helping of snorkers made breakfast! Best back and all the trimmings as well! Well rubbed was BoP's tummy!

3 BoPsie ventured out yesterday to w8rs, and the shelves had been cleared of bread and eggs! Buts see above, BoP extra breakfasted this week! I fear for the poor girl down the road who was in her house with coat on and the pizza boxes stacked up in the bin! Last night the cheese on toast delivery service was not available and she has children!

2 Night BoP will be burning off the last of the gas and tucking into some wobbleades! Just checked our smart meters and they are over budget! Well there go my socks then!

    With that, it's ...

very drole bop as for a chairman, we're pretty pretty vacant...
    1) trudging down to dental school in my wellies, got phone call to say my consultant wasn't going to make it in. The good news was i hadn't trudged far and was soon back in the warmth of my own house
    2) 2nd meeting of the day was held by phone.
    3) got 2 abstracts written, accepted by coauthors, and submitted (submission is 12 midnight today though i suspect it'll be extended due to weather)
    4) dd2 phoned from chippy. Did we want anything. This was about 30 minutes after mrpiano and i had been saying how nice a fish supper would be but how horrid the weather was. 2 fish suppers ordered :-)
    5) and now sitting in my bedroom, rachmaninov 3 meandering up the stairs. Today i have had chopin, bach and rach. lovely! Time for another cuppa and an episode of Endeavour. Night all, keep warm (unless you're antipodean in which case keep cool)

    Brrrrr...'tis most blooming freezing!

    Up early and baked.

Nice chat with DD1, who had got her new house keys and met the rather odd neighbour!

Lost another 2.5lbs this week so 10lb off. Not quite fading away to shadow yet! Walked there in the most bitingly cold wind.

One of the other ladies gave me a lift into town. No P Pig cake for us ...well not the one we ordered its stuck in Wales. However full refund , another P cake and a bottle of prosecco...thank you very much and if cake does come in they will get it to me! That's such lovely customer service. Whilst disappointing it's totally out of anyone's control.

Bus home and then the windiest walk home...thought my helium balloons were going to blow away. It was absolutely bitterly cold.

Walked down to T later for some salad and cream for tomorrow . With big boy in tow.

I actually hung washing out today and it actually mostly dried ! Bit bizarre but so windy !

    Niecely people came .

We've made cakes, decorated cakes, sorted out decorations.

Posting twicing in a day. Might make up for some of the lost ones.
    Posting again 'cos

    1. Drove, out, away > town of horse. Yippee! Cabin fever broken, but it was still snowing en route and has much worsened since.

    2. Hit Mr T first. Bought big milk and cheap veggies - hooray! M in MrT mob.shop again sorted mob. action failures. As usual, all arise from Fenny connectivity probs[as Lainey also knows. Didn't realise you had them over your way, too] Again found MrT top store mgr, an excellent Scot, mucking in with menial work. Requested previous praise be upped and conveyed to M. Sought assurance it would appear in grown-up writing on his personnel file.

    3. Emporium jolly. Liked reg.T400MUD and said so to family, who praised observant &. )))s all round.

    4. Emporium continued jolly, like your dog walkers, mrs lw. & eyed up many Norfolk jackets with deadly sin Envy. &'s is giving up, after many years' faithful service and much mending, button replacement, pocket re-lining etc.
It was a CS buy way back when - nearing 20 years. Love them.

    5. Collected re-sized soddit purchase made last Sun at Scotsdales antique/vintage Fair[lost post]: good age+marks,18c gypsy ring+3 b'stones. Then across road [Fair sign spotted just beforehand] to under-20's rugby final [draw was about right] and dirty teatowel/beermat collection for laundering [all back Monday, since when, snow-bound]
Somewhere in that self-justifying mangle, & gave herself a replacement for wornaway, no-longer-mendable[2 NZ trips ago!], ancient, &-initialled signet ring.

Hurrchrrs re-mould of Toby character odd, but all is becoming so now...except we've said so before. & thought Rob T had burgered up the water thing. Remember his blackmailing/seeing off one of the migrant workers who saw him block something drain-y pre-flood? Nic biz, didn't have a clue what was going on, just heard her moaning a lot, having rebutted placatory Emma.
Confusing to catcher-upper, rather than religious adherent, &.

    Pleasures for today (Friday).

    1) A snow day all round so had a lie in.

    2) Cooked breakfast.

    3) Hens a bit perkier! Snow now ridiculous (again) with 20cm and drifts of over a metre.

    4) A funny phone call with Dad (still stuck in St Ives) trying to convince him that he is not to attempt to come home today. "But there will be trains from Temple Meads onwards?" - no! It was +7 in St Ives today and raining - a blizzard here and no one has been able to drive through the village since 2pm.

    5) Had a game of football in the snow while bigger son cycled round and round on the field, occasionally falling off into snow drifts.

    6) Tasty tea of HM pizza then a blackberry and apple crumble. Smaller son made "Millies" cookies later.

    7) Enjoyed Gogglebox and the Last Leg.

    8) In bed with 1hwb (as it is only -2, not -7) and will listen to the radio just now.

    Good morning everyone,

& Such lovely photographs. I hope the little violet manages to open for you.

It is very quiet here, as we are under a blanket of snow.

    Yesterday

    1. Snow day. Was supposed to do school work, but sore throat and cold, so took to the sofa.

    2. DS1 needed to go to work at 2pm. The roads were clear and I was able to give him a lift.

    3. 4pm DS2 wanted to invite some friends over......asked if I could give them a lift....... Opened the front door and could not see the car! Suggested that if they came at all, they get the bus and would have to stay the night!

    4. Made lasagne and tacos for tea. DH chose tacos, so we have lasagne for tonight.

    5. DS1 text at 7:30.......Bar closed....... UBER £25  (Usually £6).....DH offered to give him a lift in the new 4 wheel drive. City centre gridlocked. Busses and lorries stranded trying to get up hills. Good Samaritans waiting to push people up hills or dig them out of drifts. DH smug as we negotiated the hills and made it back in one piece

    6. DS1 brought a couple of bottles of prosecco home. So we had a glass and watched Outlander with him. Nice to spend a bit of time with him. He works such strange hours, we just pass each other on the way to bed :rotfl:

Hope everyone enjoys the snow today and stays warm. :)

For the last few days. I'm sure I posted Thursday morning but it's vanished!

    In no particular order.
    1. Walked and bused to work. Wednesday morning a lovely walk in sunny, bright weather and no snow drifts. Had to wait 50 minute the bus. When I came home and in Thursday the walk not quite as nice with wind, snow and snow drifts deeper than my wellies so wet feet.
Lovely bus driver Thursday morning she saw us waiting for the bus and stopped the other side of the road so we could sit on the bus for a long journey rather than wait for her to come back.

    2. Work very quier, patients had been cancer and others not turned up. It seemed a waste of time going in but all my online training is up to date.
It was a friendly environment and people were chatting.

    3. Watching the birds. I seemed to be filling up their food continuously yesterday.

    4. The beautiful countryside.

    5. House is warm enough and we have enough food.

    6. TH made it to work. He would be really stir crazy if he hadn't made it out. DS2 not made it to work so he has been on PlayStation all week.

    Friday pleasures,

Woke up to no hot water, long remembered half pleasure of strip wash, mainly from childhood caravan holidays.

Lovely plumber said would make it at some point but rightly prioritising folks with no heating.

Looked at forecast and decided to visit equine girlie earlier rather than later, she was fine, all tucked up warm and munching on hay. The wind was absolutely bitter but pleasure of michelin man style clothing. Roads good around air base but drifted and lumpy closer to yard.

And more snow, lovely plumber turned up just before six, gave advice as pipes frozen in loft and then went on to next call, three more to do after us.

Looking out just before bed and Mr Fox very visible as he crossed field, hope Benjamin and his pals were safely tucked in.
