Highdays, hope you are still recovering at home.
Lainey, wonderful news.
Mhags, a therapeutic couple of days break.
1 -5 I had successful surgery – third time lucky on Monday and have been recovering at home since.
I cooked my first meal this week today, toad in the hole, DH grateful not to be cooking, he really does dislike cooking but kept us going the past couple of days. He asked me where the cabbage came from for the veg, it’s been lurking at the back of the fridge drawers err I dread to think since when now, I suspect about Easter ish is the last time it was on offer…

Good to hear all went well PK
For yesterday,
A morning of chores including a food shop, pet store for small dog’s food and filled up the mini with petrol.
The lad behind the counter in the garage admired my moonstone pendant, I was surprised that he recognised what it was but apparently he used to work in a crystal shop and was bit of an expert which provoked an interesting chat.
Capt S came home for lunch and we had a catch up over a sarnie.
Spent the afternoon with the beautiful grey one, it was warm when the sun was out and she worked well for her Mum, put her out for the night and spotted a patch of clover just by her fence but out of reach so did a bit of handpicking so she could have a treat.
Beautiful sunset and deer in the field next to the cottage.7 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Remembered to put the bin out, last minute. Must remember to bring it back in just now.
3) Spent a long time sanding my lovely filling in the wall plus the skirting boards in my room. It takes twice as long to clean up as it does to do the work! Had to hoover several times, clean all surfaces, the windows, change the bed, have a shower...
4) Did a mist coat of white paint. Annoyed to find the watered down white paint is the only white I have left so I won't be able to get on with the ceiling for a while.
5) Made a shepherds pie for tea with 2 portions for the freezer. Smaller son was impressed with it.
6) Emailed my auntie. Have been meaning to do that for ages.
7) Had an message from a friend about a humanist thing I helped him with.7 -
A quick few from & in Town of Gown library, WITH LOVELY SIGNAL!😁
1. Still enjoying daily raspberries and lemon balm leaves as I leave each day.
2. Listening to the amazing young Alcaraz on phone, Roland Garros semi-final, vs Sinner. Yannick is no slouch, but Carlos is not of this planet, a true phenomenon and they are great friends off court. Serving for the match now......4hr and 12mins, done! Won!....from a tough position and far from his best.
3. New back window in Doblo, part of a grim fortnight, but quickly done, thanks to good, good R.
4. Booked for local Iolanthe in new venue.
5. Yesterday - first Peaceful and Prayerful Art Group session in church.
& is entirely useless, although daughter took a 1st in Fine Arts. A lovely time and idea, all equipment provided, by R, an accomplished artist.

Hello…wind and rain just starting after a few hours of wind and sunshine but I’m in!
Woke up through the night and was awake for a while.Up with doggy about 5ish then dozed off again.Went into town. Had a few things to get.Picked up bottle of wine I won in a raffle last week. Had a nice chat with the lady who was working today. I’ll pass the wine on as I don’t drink.Home for an hour or so then took myself off for lunch for one ! I’d a voucher from my birthday. Then home for an hour then went into town. Parked at supermarket and stomped downhill and lurched back uphill 😆
Local florist had an event on so I made a beautiful flower crown which I’m still wearing as I write this!
And home! Didn’t need tea as I was out for lunch.Posted off a couple of Vinted sales. I drove up as I could not be bothered walking which was very lazy!Another day of all the weather apart from the warm kind!8 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the coffee morning to play chess and took MrM. I think he met his match with my Friday opponent.
3) Home again and did one coat of paint on my bedroom wall.
4) Ate 3 strawberries in the garden. The birds and slugs are eating too many of them.
5) Went to Sainsburys for a few bits and bumped into 2 friends from Park Run so sat with them to have a cup of tea.
6) Made a pizza for tea with potato wedges.
Got to be up exceedingly early in the morning as we are going to a Park Run some distance away as 2 of our friends were moved there. It will be nice to see them again.7 -
Pleasures for last couple of days
1. Lunch at my friends house, had a good chat.
2. Date night - laughter, good company & good food.3. Had headache this morning behind my eyes so went back to bed and slept for a few extra hours - possibly connected to the large glass of red consumed with meal.
4. Sunshine
5. My doggy curling up and going back to sleep too.
6. Evening out tonight at another friends house and sat outside, again more food and wine overlooking the fields watching the sunset.7. House purchase is making progress- just keeping my fingers crossed at the moment.
8. Feeling happy & content with my life7 -
I like that sculpture Amps
For yesterday,
A fluff of a baby sparrow sitting on the garden path waiting for its breakfast.
Over to see equine pal in the morning, gave her a groom then washed my brushes and left them to dry in the sun. The beautiful grey one was lying down in her stable by then so snuggled up next to her for a bit and fed her slices of apple, such a spoilt pony!Out into the garden after lunch, tidying and keeping on top of the weeds, the rambling rose is out and filling the corner by the swing seat with pink.
Capt S home so a cuppa and a catch up.
Late night wander around the garden with small dog, heading towards midsummer and stars only just starting to appear in night sky.7 -
Hello.
Blue skies and sunshine - let's hope it continues!
Some pleasures:
1) Starting to feel much better, on reduced meds now, hooray.
2) Managed to get to little fella's Sports Day, he did well but was most upset his team came last again. Hard lesson to learn at his age that it's the taking part.....
3) Have lost some weight unintentionally so will now carry on and try to lose some intentionally.
4) Big, very old laburnum tree on our border with next door is in glorious flower. Must try to get to our favourite garden where the laburnum walk should be quite a sight.
5) Lots of sorting out to be done, nothing major but things have slipped a bit over the last couple of weeks while I've not felt great. The pleasure is I feel well enough now to tackle them so a list will be written and I'll slowly get things ticked off.
Think we have a pretty quiet weekend in store, hopefully a bit of time in the garden if the weather holds.
Hope you have a good one whatever you are up to.5
