Monday:
Lovely bath, didn’t get wet on motorbike drive to Kent for 75th Birthday gathering, arrived on time, buffet lunch & drinks & lots of chat with Birthday ‘Girl’ (DH’s DSis) & DH’s DSisiL. Lunch party finished about 5:30 p.m. & evening family dinner party for 15 started about 8 p.m. Birthday Girl’s grandson-in-law cooked fajitas & practically everything was hm. Birthday cakes made by BG’s granddaughter & looked and tasted like they had been made by a professional:T Left the clearing up & in bed by 10:30 p.m.
Tuesday
Our hosts, DH’s niece & her DH, left for work before we got up, we did all the tidying up - rearranged furniture, did 95% of the washing up which was dried & put away, very late fried breakfast in cafe with DH’s DSis & her DH, visit to Retail Park, :(lots of money spent but two 2-seater sofas ordered, carpets ordered, new taps & light pulls purchased. Home to a warm house & overnight bag unpacked immediately (usually takes me a week:o), no cooking just snacks:)
Wednesday
Lazy day but went out (kind neighbour gave me a lift to station:T) & visited bank to pay in Premium Bond cheques from December, January & February :j (£150 in total) :j + quick visit to butchers, didn’t get wet:), Boar & Apple snorkers, mash & beans for dinner, DSis phoned & was upbeat even though cold - SW France is wet & wild atm.
Thursday
Good sleep, bright & sunny if rather cold, dropped 2 large bags of ‘stuff’ dropped off at cs & arrangement in place for cs to pick up glass fronted cabinet next week :jspace:j, DH arranged council furniture collection (broken or unfit for cs) for next Friday - :j:j even more space:j:j, DH has finished screwing down the spare room floor:) but it still creaks:( Reading Your Pleasures:T

Interesting news re: house, MrsLW.
Quick pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK but it is about to get much colder again. I bet they are fed up of this long winter.
3) Had pork rolls from the butcher in the village for lunch.
4) Bigger son went into town to have a pizza at F and B's with his friends.
5) Smaller son and I have been getting ready for tomorrow. His biggest love is Manchester United so we are going to M on the train, staying overnight and going on the stadium tour!0 -
Going back on Monday for a second viewing and taking DD1, if it's still as good as we remember we'll be putting in a full asking price offer pending the sale of ours, then we'll come home and our house will go on the market on Tuesday. I know it's gruelling selling houses and I know I'll be as cross as crabs with the process but the light, no matter how tiny and dim, that I see at the end of the tunnel will shine as my beacon and we'll get through it somehow. Then hopefully a life with far more family in it, I lost DD1 to boarding school when she was 12 and we had a European assignment with He Who Knows company for 3 years, got her back for 2 years and then off to University and on to a job out of area where she now lives permanently. DD2 went at 18 and didn't come back again other than to visit. They live a minimum of 2 1/2 hours drive away and I miss them!0

Fingers and toes crossed for positive outcome Lyn x
Thursday pleasures,
Car dropped off early at village garage, phone call to say that steering wheel judder caused by two front tyres, one knocked out of shape, other worn by compensating, possibly pot hole damage. Pleasure was fixable immediately.
Capt S at home so we went food shopping, few extra bits put in trolley ahead of next week’s weather, pleasure of vouchers etc took over £10 off bill.
Walked into village to pick up car, lovely garage charged me just £13.24 to fix tyres plus they washed me car, dread to think how much would cost at dealership. Must be something about fenboy garages eh &.
Drove on to see princess pony, she was introduced to delights of trimmer ahead of removing beard (hers, not mine) she went a bit wide eyed but coped, may delay as she will need all warmth for coming week.
Rtc lemon sole with fennel and cauliflower cheese for tea.0 -
MrsLW How exciting! Keeping everything crossed for the light at the end of the tunnel :j
Yesterday
1. Mad shopping day of ‘glitching’, APG, cash back offers and rtc in Mr A and Mr W. Cupboards and freezer are now stocked so when the madness of school starts again next week, we can eat!
2. Took 3 pairs of boots to the menders. 1 pair can be saved, but 2 had to be donated to the shoe collection bin.
3. Spent 1/2 Hour mooching in the charity shops, but didn’t buy anything. :j
4. DD packing. Amazon stuff arrived in time. She is excited. :j
5. More stuff listed on EBay and more bids. Decluttering and a bit of cash.....Win, Win !
Have a lovely day0 -
6 Years ago after BoP dropped like a stone! I got up again. Weebils wobble, but don’t fall down!
5 That is how Jenny was fitted! :heartpuls Shocking I know, but she is twin choke!
4 Was inn wobbleade emporium the other eve, so you see not every day is inn the gym, just showing my beach ready body can has some other foods. Wobbleade was also drunk. Within reason if you eat properly, there is no need for carp. Did not has the carbored chips, that are called triple cooked! My rrrrrrr! Avoid! Grilled toms were nice!
3 Last of my decorator this week. BoPsie, poor girl, even though she gets the housekeeping, reduced due to losses on BoP pension this month, has not been paid for the work she has done. So please again I ask you to think of her has beans and lack of nutrition during these hard times!
2 day is the first POETS day this weak, so we can all be happy!
The rest is pure genius!0 -
For yesterday.
1. Made the bus and had chat with someone waiting for it.
2. Arrived at work early and sorted stuff out for myself and colleagues. Had 2 coffees before 9.
3. Candles masking smell of DS2 rugby boots. He has kept them for a couple of weeks wet in a plastic bag in his car and then thought let's dry them in the kitchen. They weren't left in the kitchen for long.
4. Had lamb for tea. It tasted good and it had been a while since I have eaten it.
5. Quiet evening and caught up with emails that I had to reply to.0 -
1) Very good bargain YS in Mr.T this morning of 3 slices of deli quiche Lorraine for 56p and there were 2 bags so both came home for us.
2) Nice walk with Cookie after lunch in bright sunshine, quite a cold wind but had to take off hat and gloves when we got back into the shelter of the village, most pleasant.
3) Some really bright blue speedwell flowers out in a sunny spot on one of the verges this afternoon, the first of the year.
4) Have just 'set dressed' the smallest spare room for estate agents photos when we go on the market with the Grandpickles quilts one with cars and lorries on and one in the cot with crocodiles and long legged birds in bright colours. Have laid out the wooden airport on the floor and put the toy box in too, looks really nice.
5) He Who Knows lit the stove while I was sorting upstairs and I came down to a beautifully toasty room, blissful!0
