For yesterday,
Woke up hungry so eggy bread for breakfast,
Busy morning out and about doing chores & errands, glad to get home for a cuppa and a sit down!
Hung some festive lights in our fireplace, twinkly stars, and as the afternoon got darker they really started to glow.
Frightful night weather wise but we drove over to our friend’s village and enjoyed a meal with him at his local pub, good food and even better company.
Home and the cottage was still warm & cosy, PJ’s on and reading in bed.6 -
Thursday.Up early. Out with doggy.Niece and the four year old came up. My sister is her mum.I had work in the afternoon. In a training/ learning capacity.
Went for a peppermint tea de-brief afterwards.Home.Had mince round for tea with veggies.
Did some homework!Had a video call for work. Then a video call with DD1 and we made our annual mince pies together. However it was late for me and early for her instead of the other way round! So my tummy did not agree with a 10pm mince pie although it was very tasty! And just the smell when I opened the oven. Mmmmmm! Christmas!I’ve got a work appointment this evening so I’ve had a daytime reccy visit to see where I’m going as it’s not an area I’m at all familiar with. A bit of dark country roads! Waaah!Hope everyone is having a lovely day so far.
Just going to add on Friday.
Up early. Out with doggy, then pup dropped off so had to walk him.Went to garden centre with sister and BIL. Enjoyed a cheese scone.Did my drive to middle of nowhere.Another set of separate doggy walks.Went for a shower to start getting ready for going to work this evening when it was cancelled. Sigh! But do you know what I just put my jammies on.The niecelys came . All a bit hectic especially for the pup. They’ve just left so I’ve just came upstairs to give him a bit of peace for a bit.Couple of quick chats with friend.7 -

Not really an osp...more like a habit that remains unbroken. Yet another try to crack the connectivity problems, after another 40mins in MrT phone shop.
1. 11 days' msgs caught up! And Preview 184 is online, though much not proofread by &, which shows, malheureusement.
2. The crazy strawberries chez& are still pinkly flowering.
3. Coshed an amazing £800 from the Couldn't Run Away Fast Enough souls at home match rugby last Saturday.😁. V. necessary roof maintenance contribution, unexciting as that may sound.
4. & has treated self to bits of heat and hot water this week. Soddit rules!👏 Am also treating self to Colchester away match diesel tomorrow, for a good, cathartic scream'n'shout, then back in time for the Cantilena Singers advent concert.
5. Managed the final chance of ½-price chrimbo crackers at the emporium on Tuesday night last week. Excellent - and & was not alone.

Hello. Posting before an evening of strictly then I’m a celeb! Rock and roll😆
My day! Up and out a quick walk at early o’clock.Pup dropped off at 8am.
Visitors left at 8.30am.Morning spent cleaning.Quick nip to supermarket. Got some RTC flowers.Home and hello doggies!Has lashed all day. Pleasure was no need to be anywhere.Watched a couple of schmaltzy Christmas movies.Pup picked up around 4.30pmNiece texted…had GN been in touch? No. Why? Oh she wants to come and stay overnight. Well if you can bring her she can stay…but the bedding was all washed this morning and the quilt cover’s not quite dry so it’s a pile of blankets on top of the quilt. Just popped a hot water bottle in for her. She’s upstairs just now. She just wanted some peace and quiet! ( eh…me too!) Made her pancakes. And we are going to cinema tomorrow morning.8 -
Needing this thread more than every all of a sudden...
So 5 pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Good to get up. I made an omelette for breakfast with l.o potatoes, tomatoes then feta cheese then we had a few olives, as we bought far too many last week.
2) A friend of ours visited, dropped off by someone I was chatting to vaguely. I mentioned Mr U's problems and, to my continuing astonishment, she knows exactly the right person to talk to and has set up an appointment for us on Monday morning!
3) Smaller son and I went to watch our football team, who won 4-1.
4) Thinking about putting the Christmas decorations up. I have made zero progress towards Christmas so far.
5) Will put Strictly on just now.8 -
Hello again.
Just popping in briefly, lovely to catch up with you, Frith!!
We've both had a very nasty dose of a cold/coughing/almost flu/type of bug thing and still feeling very wobbly but we are away tomorrow overnight so will go and make the best of it as pretty sure we can't be contagious after a week. We won't know anybody and can pretty much keep ourselves to ourselves but a change of scenery and some fresh air may do us some good. Had a month of fun stuff planned so very sad we are either missing things or dragging ourselves to them. Hopefully we will be better for Christmas but really prefer the run up to the actual event.
Quite a bit going on next week but will catch up with you all then. Sorry to sound a bit miserable and negative.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and stay well!8 -
