Another bitingly cold day. Bright in the morning then bit rainy since afternoon. Hope all the remnants of snow are washed away.
Up and out early.
Went out and about. Picked up some cakes from local baker chap. Went to Lidl. Bought the chap who is sleeping rough a pastry and some water and some satsumas. I feel bad about him. But I’d made enquires last week with a local team. Anyway just a little bit to help.
Then we went to beach ( dog was with me) Had a lovely walk. Popped to see niece at her work. And got a pair of black trousers for work in charity shop next door.
Three bunches of very RTC flowers at supermarket .
Home!Sister called.Went to mobile library. Nice chat with chap. Very slippery icy walk to and from.
Had leftover chicken pie for tea.6 -

For the last day or two
We visited the in laws and just enjoyed a natter, time spent in good company and home cooked food, drove back home in the wee hours slowly thanks to ice and snow flurries.
My clothes keep swamping me, I had my eye on a few things and found a discount code about a month ago. I was lucky to find the order I was going to do has been marked down a second time in the sale.
We took a seriously special ferret to us to the vets, as something wasn’t right, and something isn’t right, but then we also found we can’t operate as her heart is muffled as we always suspected, after we lost her sister also to an operation. So, we now have long term steroids, and a lot of prayers.
We stopped in at aldiii on the way back from the vets, we picked up a few festive things, baking Brie, baileys cream, and a rtc pork casserole I do love their casseroles I can’t re-create the casserole sauce.
Cleaned up the car windows, there’s nothing like December sludge to highlight it would be better to see out.

Hello.
Haven't caught up with all your pleasures yet, having been AWOL for the last few days, just touching base quickly before heading off to bed.
Pleasures 1 - 5 for the last few days:
Family all the way. I am truly blessed with the most amazing people in my life who love me as much as I love them. Had our family Christmas get-together this weekend, everyone left today. I am shattered but it was worth all the hard work, we had a fab time. All agreed it couldn't have been better, so much laughter and fun and, in the heat of the moment, I maybe very rashly offered to host it all again next year, oh blimey! But, first, a very very big sleep!
Hope you are all ok, will read back at leisure tomorrow.8 -
@Purple_kitten - I will be saying a lot of prayers for you. I know that your furry friends are important to you and it is so hard to see them ill. A lot of stress for you. Wishing you the best.9

Good morning. More rain!
Lainey - I hope you soon feel better. These lingering things are so miserable and there's not much you can do to get rid of it except rest. Take care x
Highdays - so pleased all your planning paid off. Families are the best! ( well, some of them!)
P Kitten - sorry you have another poorly patient but it's lovely to hear you sounding like yourself again.
Admiral - San Francisco. So jealous.
So....recently
I finally got round to having my flu jab at the chemist. Very quick and efficient. And then spent two days sneezing ....and sbeezing.....and sneezing. Didn't feel ill though and back to normal now so not too bad.
Caught up on Virgin River. Do enjoy it. And now watching A Million Little Things. Same sort of feel but without the beautiful scenery.
Got some right on Only Connect. Mentioning it because it rarely happens 😂
Spent a lovely Sunday morning making wreaths with DD and DGD. The wreaths look good but the real treat was spending time with two special people. ( and please remind me not to buy any wreath embellishments next year. I've enough left over to set up a shop!)
Yoga again. Our teacher donated all the fees from yesterday's class to a food bank. Of course, most people pay extra for that class so it's usually a good amount. I'm pleased to be part of such a caring group.
Happy wet day everyone

For yesterday,
Quick trip into horsey town for a few provisions, most important of which were lemons and fabulous Jakemans which are the only thing that seem to stop me coughing.
Bowl of chicken soup for lunch.
With my equine girlie, she had the farrier so all trimmed and shod for the next six weeks. The blood test results showed no sign of the dreaded granulosa tumour thankfully but she’s clearly not right so next stop is a scan, bless her.
Met the yards latest resident, the cutest dachshund puppy that has come to live with the owners, made me very puppy broody!
Capt S now has the lurgy too so poorly household, early night for all.

BOP they look and sound like amazing adventures.
1 Thank you for the kind comments, and you are right they are all part and parcel of the family. She’s responding to the meds, hopefully they will settle, and she’ll be okay, either way she is very doted on always.
2 A very easy dinner of faggots.
3 Played about with piping for butter icing, it's very relaxing, but I am also very bad at it.
4 Did a very basic get things where they need to go, as tomorrow's list is the cleaning and tidying.
5 Gathered a few books together for an online Christmas Eve book swap I’m doing just need to wrap them up and send them off, so the only cost is postage.
