For yesterday,
A delivery arrived first thing which meant I didn’t have to spend the morning listening out.
Wrapped presents with Christmas music on for festive atmosphere.
Postie came with an unexpected surprise, notice of a pension that I paid into in my early 20’s and then forgotten about, compounded interest meant a decent sum to came to me early next year.
Spending time with the beautiful grey one.
Realising that visitors next week are coming on Wednesday not Tuesday so the gift of an extra day to get ready!

Phew I'm back. After the cold had a molar and wisdom tooth out - ouch and over 2 weeks later i still have a stitch which is annoying me (should have dissolved by last Sunday but have a check-up 19th so assume if the blighter is still there they'll remove it - it's making my cheek sore) then dd2 arrived which was a lovely treat
I have now caught up on all the posts i've missed - fab photos admiral - we were in Davis for 3 months in 2000 and went to SF a few times.
So some quick pleasures
1) seeing DD2 - she helped put the tree up yesterday morning before she went back to London cos
2) work mates came round yesterday for some carols and snacks
3) then a fabulous choir practice
4) and left overs today - yum yum yum
5) and now in bed waiting for HIGNFY cos I'm zonkedMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello. Bedtime because I’m tired and I hope I sleep better than last night.Anyway Friday…
Cold and wet. But not icy or snowy so that’s a bonus!Supermarket first thing. Got some RTC flowers for me and some real price flowers for a friend.Headed to a work meeting. Was just half an hour which was just as well as that’s what the free parking was!Popped up to friends.Home hello doggy. Was expecting Pup but got a text to say I wasn’t required. Hurrah!Did work stuff ( writing script…this is the bit I like)
Mums NDN popped round to see me, so that was nice.Did my flowers.Got approval of script so that made me happy and I can relax a bit! And also some very positive feedback which also made me happy. I’m doing something so different from what I’ve ever done before, so constantly have mini crisis of confidence so it’s nice to have other people say I’m doing well.Had beans on toast for tea which was actually very nice! And used up a bit more bread from the freezer. And a very lovely orange for pudding!Dog cuddles.6 -
Bad news my DB and co are confirmed with Covid, they’ve moved into separate rooms in their house.
1 The house is clean again, hoovered and mopped and all the relevant wash loads underway.
2 Fresh bedding for us
3 Sent the doctors a I’m concerned form, before I knew it, they had seen me, confirmed I was “crackling“ and popped me on antibiotics and steroids.
4 Tidied up and found things I had mis placed.
5 Curried chic pea pie, veg and chips for dinner, just had leftover mini doughnuts from Wednesday’s outing.

Good morning. Just had the most incredible vivid red sunrise. Went into the garden to take a photo but it's not as impressive on a phone screen.
Hoping all the poorly people ( looking at you, Highdays, Lainey, D Doll) continue to improve and are well by Christmas. The tooth sounds particularly ouchy, D Doll.
Well, all the weight I put on comfort eating while DH was in hospital is still with me. And with Christmas on its way, it won't be going anytime soon. Perhaps if I don't eat at all in January.......
The tree is now up. It's only a little one and all the ornaments hold special memories. One that DH has had since childhood, one my mum made and others collected on holidays so I can say ' Ooh we got this in....' ( Faversham this year!)
Made some lemon truffles yesterday. They're lovely but too soft. Think I was too generous with the limoncello! But I'll do it again as a sort of Gu pud with crushed biscuit base in individual glasses for Boxing Day.
Have won a light up liqueur in MnS sparks lucky draw. Off to collect that tomorrow before it's too late.
Totally given up with Strictly. Not even going to watch the final. So there! ( I bet the BBC will be really upset 😂)
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Good to see you posting DD and hope the annoying stitch gets removed soon.
For yesterday,
Bed changed and washing done.
Over to Fenland market town and gorgeous eldest niece gave me a manicure, I’ve never been a girlie girl and the most I usually do to my nails is keep them tidy and occasionally apply some clear strengthener but have to say that I’m now pretty obsessed with my beautiful berry coloured fingertips!
Round to DSIL and she made us chicken wraps for lunch, good catch up and exchange of presents.
Home and Capt S has now finished work until 2024, woohoo 🎉 different times from when our year end was 31st Dec and work was pretty full on.
Glass of something bubbly and a pizza for tea,

Nice early morning doggy walk.
Had a shower and put clean jammies on and went downstairs and put the Christmas tree lights on and sat with just that light. Watched some of The Crown.
Chat to friend on phone.Went as far as supermarket.DD2 came over we had our tea together then the chap came in after his work. And had his tea.My sisters in law came over, always so lovely to see them. They are two of my very favourites! Much chatter and laughter.Everyone all just gone and I’m going to attempt to watch Strictly. Though I’ve seen who wins! Will no doubt fall asleep in 5 minutes!5 -

For yesterday,
Slow start with coffee and croissants.
Hung new curtains in our bedroom, black out lined as more ambient light at the back of the cottage these days.
Sorted out a few more decorations, we still haven’t got our tree up but hope to do that today, this virus has been a real doozie and we are taking our time to recover.
Over to see my girl, she was already in so I have her a good long groom and generally cosseted. Had a chat with my friend. Weird light driving home, sort of a hazy glow about it. Listened to the football and we won at home.
Quiet night at home, caught up on Vigil and were in bed by 10.5
