Bedtime!
Up early.
Went to beach for low tide. It was wild!Popped in to supermarket on way home. Got lots of 15p veg. Love veggies.
Home and put log burner on.Hoovered. Hung up washing. Cleaned bathrooms.
Made a rhubarb crumble from freezer stash…needed the space!
Slow cooked beef(RTC) / sausage and RTC puff pastry also out the freezer. Cut the puff pastry into Christmas tree shapes and stars. With mashed potatoes (RTC) and cheapy parsnips and carrots roasted with a honey glaze. And broccoli and cauliflower. Very yummy Tuesday Tea.Chatter. Laughter. And an extra visitor of a tiny person ( friend’s grandson) who made us laugh.7 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had a panic about the appeal I submitted yesterday. Phoned HM Courts and it seems I did do it right so I won't have to pay another £140!
3) Cashed in my Quidco "winnings".
4) Our friend stayed overnight so we had a posh breakfast.
5) Went to our football club to buy smaller son a tiny stocking filler...
6) Took our friend back to his new house, via the Kurdish restaurant. Went to the supermarkets there where we all knew what a quince was, but none of us could remember the name for it in any of our 4 languages. Met another chap there who was equally depressed about the state of affairs as the rest of us.
7) Bought some 19p veg from Sainsburys for another friend.
8) Have just cleaned the larder cupboard out and put the heavy stuff at the bottom, which makes more sense.
9) MrU has been given a second hand bike which will be delivered on Thursday.6 -
Good morning. Very dark again!
Did a post yesterday and it vanished. I went off in a huff. But back to try again today.( To be fair, it was nothing important but still.....)
M hagster and Lainey T - please can I say thank you for keeping us going. Many days, if it wasn't for you, I think we'd drop down to page 3 !
Christmas prep continues in a low key way. I said to DH I don't know how I used to manage to work full time, take care of two children and have our parents round for Christmas dinner too. He pointed out we were much younger then! Very true!
I'm on the hunt for a new Christmas tree topper. Our new real tree is too little to take any weight. Think I might have to make one. See, this is why I run out of time. I get side tracked.
Finished Traces now. Kept thinking of you @DundeeDoll. It was often focussed on the university so I looked out for you in the background! It was probably filmed in Aberystwyth!
Happy Wednesday everyone

For yesterday,
Woke up to the news of volcanic activity in Iceland and that’s where eldest DSS is supposed to be flying in from so digits crossed that all ok!
Phone chat with new friend, with her compromised immune system I haven’t dare visit with this virus but good to keep in touch.
Bathrooms cleaned, nearly caught up.
Over at the yard and vet finally phoned to say about the scan, can you do tomorrow (today)? Err yes, makes a super busy day but want it done as girlie definitely not right.
Macaroni cheese for tea, comfort food and much needed.

Great night at the Union Chapel last night for Cara Dillon’s Christmas 🎄concert, it was lovely. We had a very enjoyable lamb curry in their Margins Cafe before the show and this all helps support their charitable work. Great journey home with easy tube connection and the 7 minute mainline journey to our local station 😊
Some progress made in sorting and wrapping Christmas presents, although I ended wrapping and bagging some of them!CT scan at hospital first thing yesterday morning went smoothly, will have to wait to see if it confirms what is going on.
Plans for next few days are seeing a couple of friends, haircut, cooking and cleaning and tidying for family onslaught!
Have a good day 😊6 -
Lainey - fingers crossed twice.
Once that DSS gets home safely
Once that all is well with your lovely horse xx6 -
Hello. Bedtime…probably not to fall asleep straight away but just feel tired and don’t want to put heating on!So dark this morning…almost at midwinter then it will start to get a teeny tiny bit lighter each day…and by the time the new Call The Midwife series is finished I’ll feel a bit happier! Not that I’m wishing my life away!Pup dropped off at 8am for the day. He has been my wee shadow all day! Well the two of them have.
They brought their table over last night as I need extra space for Christmas. So put the legs on the table this morning and manoeuvred everything into place.Tidied kitchen bookcase. Have a bag of books in the car to go to supermarket charity shelf.
Quick doggy walks today as have do do one at a time.Phoned for a takeaway. Couldn’t tell you the last time I did that! But was nice.
Popped a thing on local FB page so that’s getting collected. Hopefully tonight. I’ve left it out the front!DD2 left one of those oversized oodies which I’ve worn today and I’ve been so toasty in it! Hence no need for heating being on. At one point I got a bit too warm.6
