Morning all
sounds like a lovely weekend Lainey 😊
I wrote a post last night but can’t have pressed post ☹️
Took OH back to the hospital on Friday to have his stitches out, nurse said it was healing well. Lunch on the way back at our local pub and friend joined us. Much better than the pub food nearer the hospital last week.
Washing dried on the whirly yesterday. The sun was out for a while and my tete a tete are out all over the garden. I planted a few more pots in my tubs at the front, they are definitely one of my favourite flowers.
Fake KFC and homemade coleslaw last night, not as good as the real thing but nice.
We’re rewatching Last Tango In Paris, by the same writer as a Happy Valley, enjoyable viewing.
Have a great Sunday 😊

3. a good journey back
4. fire is lit and g and t consumed

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son appeared here so I gave him some eggs and various bits.
3) I went to bigger son's house where he made tuna and cheese on toast for lunch. We started work on his garden. A neighbour looked over the wall so we borrowed his broom (Jeremy and Suzanne, in case I read this again in the future). We took lots of bags of leaves and trimmings (and weeds) to the tip. We didn't know how to get in to the tip so ended up going round in circles on various roads on the trading estate and we kept driving to the walls surrounding it but couldn't find the entrance for ages!
4) We also went to B and Q for emergency pansies and primulas (for the newly weeded flower beds) plus a string of lights for the garden.
5) On the way back, I saw one of the men from the hotel that I play chess with. I never beep the horn at any of the men as they wouldn't know my car and I don't want to startle them. However, this man was walking towards us on the pavement so I told bigger son to wave as well. We waved and he gave a tiny wave, then recognised me and did a very enthusiastic two handed wave! He is very quiet so that was surprising.
6) Watched the 10 year anniversary of Gogglebox.
7) Just did some Arabic.9 -
Hello. Bedtime for me!Woke far too early this morning then tried to get back to sleep for an hour then my blooming alarm went off!Had a nice doggy walk. Just us and the birds. Luckily we missed the rain. It had been snowing through the night and looked briefly magical. All washed away by the time we went out. Then oooft! Such a busy day at work. Crazy busy. My second busiest day ever. ( however much I wanted to beat my target from the other week)
Tips okay and in the jam jar.Used up everything so had to stay on a wee bit to replenish!Popped into boss’ so quick chat with her then home briefly then had to go back out to pick up gift for colleague and then dropped it off at hers. Then home and friend was coming over. She’s just gone and I’m heading to bed as I need to do it all again tomorrow! Yay!10 -
Lainey, looks like a wonderful weekend.
1 Cleared out drawers of my clothes, 2 bags are no good for anything, 2 bags for CS. Tried to be quite strict, even moved on a whole box of books, and 10 pairs of pillowcases.
2. Lunch of chicken bits, burger in a bun, with salad and chips.
3 Had to pop out to get lactofree cream for the poorly ferret to put painkiller in, honestly, he’s dancing about.
4 Watched a film on TV.
For today
1 Cleared out half of the greenhouse, a great start, with a lot of help from a robin.
2 Cooked up a Sunday roast, made sure to make the most of the heat, cooked up the roasties, dessert, and sausages.
3 Watching the Clarkson’s farm series.
4 Reading up on Wales, inspiration for our next break.

@LaineyT - I went to see Mousetrap back in 1980 - on my first trip to London. I understand it is still in the same theatre. It was so amazing, I still remember it after all this time.10

Yes, it’s still at St Martins @weenancyinAmerica where it’s been since 1974, lovely old theatre and the play was as good as I hoped.
For yesterday,
Out for breakfast as hotel’s is hideously expensive.
Joined the queue snaking around the Tower of London but it moved quickly and we were soon inside. It surpassed my expectations and we spent hours exploring the historic towers & rooms, we also listened to one of the Yeoman Warner’s famous tours, wonderful!
Have to say though that for me the most thrilling part was walking up and down all the steep staircases, worn smooth by centuries of footsteps, and running my hand over the stone walls whilst imagining who else had touched the same stones?
Back to the hotel for a cup of tea and to rest our aching legs.
Another walk, this time an early evening one alongside the Thames, my step count had gone over 30k for the second day running.
Dropped into SM to pick up a ready made salad as neither of us fancied going out for a meal then sat in our room to watch the last ever Endeavour, well done I thought.

And hurrah the working week is done ( apart from the other stuff I have to do 😆) but the big days are done.A very odd 10o start to the day but howling wind and lashing rain. It’s a lot colder now.
In at work a bit early so I could nip away for half an hour. Came home to see my doggy but also got an unexpected roll and slice.Good company at work. Chatter chatter, laughter.Okay tips. The weird thing that I did almost double orders yesterday but tips were better today. No rhyme nor reason to it. Always grateful for anything though😊
And I’m happy that is light when I get home and a very happy welcome from my doggy. The tub of spring flowers from my SIL last week has had two lovely hyacinths that have flowered. And texts back and forth to those that need. Just checking in with some friends who need a bit of extra love 💕
But mainly hurrah that work is done😆10
