Good evening it's just got dark at 5.30pm, days are stretching out a bit which I like.

I slept on sofa last night. DD2 in my room as guests in her room. And I was dozy anyway and thought I'd just stay downstairs. Slept perfectly well.

Up early and had a bath whilst everyone else was still snoozing, started reading 'Five go Down Under' a spoof of Famous Five books . Was funny. Finished it this afternoon. I think I appreciated it more having lived down under.

Nipped to tesco...sigh! But did get some beautiful RTC flowers. Lainey I always have flowers but only buy when RTC. Quite right to treat yourself and tulips are very cheering.

We all had rolls and slice for breakfast and tattie scones too...our visitors enjoyed their Scottish experience . Dropped them off at the bus stop.

Much washing to be done. Normal daily load, weekly white load and then bedding off 2 beds. Got bedding out on line in between showers as it was such a good wind and a mild 11o. Not quite dry but smells fresher for having had a blow.

Heating came on automatically at 3pm but I clicked it back off and have just put it on now.

Have pottered around doing bits and bobs. Things that have needed doing have been done.

Made chocolate crispy cakes. Had a little cooking chocolate left and was sorting out the little packets of cereal that were still left. No one seems to be eating the Rice Krispies....well until they were covered in chocolate!

Tea is a hotchpotch of sausage rolls, little pasties, roast parsnips and chicken nuggets that my sister had bought when I first moved back and no one eats! Will do some veg too. Using up the ends of stuff in the freezer.

Have a sainsbury delivery this evening. Another £15 off £50 spend. Thank you..not sure how many more if any vouchers they will send me.

I must get that book Mhagster, I’m currently at Red Hill on Mornington Peninsula, think you were in Melbourne. We spend most winters here as our son lives North East Victoria.

    Morning Folks,

Thank you for my birthday wishes. :p

    Yesterday

    1. Birthday cards, including cards from absent children DfV:rotfl:DD also sent Bday photo of a Llama in front of Rainbow mountain.

    2. Trip to next town for afternoon tea, (Groupon voucher going out of date!), and paint for dining room. We have now agreed on the colour.:o

    3. Ebaying for a couple of hours when we got home. Frith I really enjoy it, if left alone, and I am well supplied with cups of tea.

    4. Video call from DD in Peru! She is having a very exciting time so far.

    5. Aardman themed birthday meal at friends house. Included cheese and crackers and chicken pie, accompanied by soundtracks from the films. :rotfl: Lovely presents including lots of flamingo gifts, which I had been looking at in Paperchase, but felt were too frivolous to buy for myself. :o ..........Love flamingos.

    Have a lovely day :)

Sounds a spiffing birthday HouseElf :)
Confesses that made it to 18 years of driving before attending said speed course, I was one of the youngest there!
Thank you McCulloch, have to confess your comment caused me to tear up x

    Saturday pleasures,

No getting up at silly o'clock to drive over to yard, the benefits to my sleep deprived health, not to mention petrol budget are not to be sniffed at but did miss seeing my girlie first thing.

    Boiled egg with marmite soldiers.

A bright sunny start quickly deteriorated into a wet, murky day so only option was to lay on the sofa and read my book, it's a hard life.

Over to see my girlie, gratified to see that yard staff had picked up on small nick on a front leg when they brought her in, purple spray had been applied and incident mentioned, good start!

Another Saturday night and another battle, this time I was with the Riders of Rohan charging down the hillside astride my trusty stead, I quickly got bored when it was back to the Hobbits :D
  • 1) My lovely kind and caring MSE friends who care for and comfort me with their support and kindness when I falter, help me back to my feet and hold me up until I'm ready to walk on again.....and then stay close to make sure I'm OK. Unbounded thanks!

    2) A beautiful warm and sunny day out there and it's 15degrees here, we have windows open in the house and it's the first time this winter that I've been comfortable without a hat and gloves.

    3) A nice cup of coffee at the garden centre and a country drive.

    4) We passed a grass verge awash with early snowdrops, so pretty.

    5) On my walk down to the river and back along the footpaths I walked past a border full of snowdrops and tiny pink cyclamen with a bright bush of winter jasmine at the back, in the sunshine it was bright and beautiful.

    LaineyT,

If this was Return of the King then my DH& I were lucky enough to be directed to the location by an orc in the Twizel Tourist Centre when we went to New Zealand in 2006. The location WOULD have been a bit disappointing BUT there was a film crew filming an advert for Japanese air conditioning in the style of Lord of the Rings - a single Nazgul was chasing Arwen down the hill & across the Plains of Pelennor - it was absolutely brilliant:cool: beyond belief! Never did understand the connection with air conditioning:huh:

Leads me on to my pleasures for Sunday:

    1. Thinking of our month long holiday in NZ - we toured both islands on a motorbike

    2. The absolutely spectacular scenery.

    3. ALL our accommodations which were organised by the Motor Cycle Touring Company

    4. The first two days of our individual tour with a guide who (illegally) took us for a ride along 90 Mile Beach:T:j

    5. Bungee jumping from a bridge & the side of a mountain in Queenstown & the fact that we can relive the experience by watching the DVD:j

    6. Going up the Sky Tower (Auckland) in a glass bottomed lift to do my Sky Jump (192m) - a fixed bungee jump & waving to the diners in the restaurant then landing on a glass platform!

    7. The absolute joy at being offered a 2nd jump (FREE:rotfl:) which was fortunate as my DH couldn’t get the camera to work for my first jump! He was successful 2nd time around:T (DH was not light enough to do the Sky Jump but he really didn’t want to do it anyway:rotfl:)

    8. The food - especially the fish! So fresh that it was almost still alive:eek:

Now to the slightly less exciting pleasures over the weekend:

    9. Clearing 4 crates of stuff & creating 3 bags of bits & pieces for cs

    10. No rain - although the wind has started up again!

    11. Delicious dinners - Saturday - herby breaded veal escalopes, boiled potatoes and petit pois + Sunday - venison sausages, mash & pickled red cabbage (thanks for the suggestion JackieO:T)

    12. Call the Midwife - ‘nuff said!

Well, I think I should really go to bed now:rotfl:

    ‘See’ you all tomorrow.
