Good morning. Brrr. Very brr.❄
Topsy T. - being happy - priceless😀
S Sue - holding your hand today x
Nothing exciting here but that's ok
Advent calendar done. Just need a length of dowel for the top. DH, who has a garage full of stuff, doesn't have a piece long enough! Unbelievable!
Discovered soup making. I always said I didn't like soup but I think that was tinned soup in my formative years! Decided to have a go and I like my own makes! Have decided the secret is Cajun spice to give a kick. Now have a bag of romanesco stalks in the freezer waiting to go with whatever comes next!
DH converted the left over euros into GBP and shared it out as mad money! I've not had so much cash in my purse for ages ( about £60!) And can't think of anything I want!
Put up the decorations day today. And then warming curry for tea.
Happy chilly day everyone6 -
Hope today goes as well as possible SSue, sending positive vibes.
I love making soup as well HappyCas, enjoy the mad money!
For yesterday,
Very cold overnight and then we had a flurry of snow around 7am, luckily we were home from first dog walk by then.
Busy morning, changed the bed and went through the house, hoovering & dusting, then in the kitchen making olive rolls, a loaf and mincemeat flapjack.
Lunch was warm rolls with Brie.
We watched the first match, v exciting and yay to Croatia, cups of tea and flapjack with so neither of us fancied much for tea…..we had a chip butty!
More football and a late watch of Gogglebox.7 -
Hello.
Another one here, Ssue, thinking about you today.
Some pleasures:
1) Lovely meet-up yesterday with son's new partner. She makes him very happy which makes me happy too.
2) It was a very frosty, white day with a cloudless deep blue sky and 'biting' air, just perfect.
3) Have finally arranged a get-together with my two best friends from my old work, it will be the first time we meet up since we moved down here just before lockdown so there will be a lot of catching up to do. So much water has passed under the bridge in the last two years and so many life changes.
4) Despite lots of eating out and hubby and I already making huge inroads into the Christmas treats, my weight has stayed the same. Phew! Put some weight back on earlier in the year with all the trauma but still at a 3 stone net loss for the year - but a fair bit still to go. Is there any point trying to lose weight before Christmas? Two weeks to go, I'll be positive and have a shot at it. Off to stock up on satsumas and salad in a while.
5) A Christmas night out tonight, meeting up with hubby's new theatre friends. They seem like a really nice bunch of people but I haven't had the chance to get to know them well as yet so that will be fun. Food will be involved. maybe the 'Crack on for Christmas' diet will have to start tomorrow!
Have a good weekend.9 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) House now clean and tidy and I might put the Christmas decorations up tomorrow.
3) Did plenty of Arabic on Duolingo.
4) Made a nice tea with a bought trifle.
5) My brother came over and we watched the England v France match.7 -
Pleasures for Saturday
1. Ds2 took the dog for her walk in the cold this morning.
2. Took DS2 so he could do his Christmas shopping, he was very quick.
3. Pork Chops with home made mushroom sauce - very tasty.
4. Made a start on my Christmas challenge for the craft group’s Christmas lunch.
5. No spend day for me today.7 -
For yesterday,
A cold frosty morning so enjoyed a lie-in.
Filled up the bird feeders and defrosted the bird bath with warm water, the sparrow squadron came down for a communal wash.
Finally got round to writing my cards and got them in the post.
Over to see my pony, she had been back in her normal field after the re-fencing and apparently she did a few zoomies before settling down to graze. Her stable had been banked up with extra shavings against the cold, -7 overnight, and she was warm in her rug. Very happy with our new yard.
Tea was corned beef hash then settled down to watch the football, gutted we didn’t get more out of the game so opened a box of Xmas Bendicks in consolation!7 -
thank you all for the huge support you have given me
Pleasures 1-5 are that the scan is clear especially there are no ‘pancreatic nasties’ to be seen
liver a bit bright but probably the huge dose of statins .
I was very lucky to have a senior radiographer ,who, having established I am a retired nurse ,talked me through it in detail and looked at absolutely everything.
I have to admit to being a tad relieved
Thankyou all so so much, I really felt the vibes.
will be back later and will now concentrate finding 5 pleasures daily and hopefully supporting you as much as you have me10 -
Oh, Suffolksue, that is a fantastic result, I'm so pleased for you and what a massive relief!
So glad you felt the support from everyone here and that it helped and also good that you were fast-tracked so didn't have to wait too long. Sounds like they were very thorough so you can feel assured that all is clear.
Enjoy a peaceful, relaxed Sunday, you certainly deserve it, and thank you so much for coming back to put our minds at rest so quickly.

S Sue - wonderful news. And so pleased you had a radiographer who patiently explained things.
And breathe x8
