Pleasures for Tuesday
1. Walking the Thames path with OH - the last section of all for him. He's walked the Barrier to the source, i've done from barrier to Oxford but am unlikely to do the remainder as it's awkward to get to
2. Met up with sister in law in Oxford for a drink before the (Very tedious) journey back
3. OH has been 'off' for the last few weeks. Not sure if it was something i'd done / not done / said / not said - or something else entirely. But anyway, he seems ok now and we had a laugh together.
4. beautiful bright sunny (if cold) weather
5. Emaness salad on the train
ANd yesterday
1. Tutorials went ok - albeit poorly attended due to marking not being completed
2. trip to see the physio who said my hip arthritis was just to be expected for my age and what to do to help alleviate
3. walk to the station and train journey to ICT which went ok
4. The pleasure of having left the car at machynlleth so i didn't need to get a bus
5. steak for tea.
Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
I hope you're doing OK, Suffolksue. (It always sounds weedy when I type that, but you know what I mean!)
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned the house, ready for putting the Christmas decorations up. (Only cleaned the downstairs, but that took hours!) Everything tidied, dusted, sofa throw washed, all washing done, windows cleaned, fridge cleaned.
3) The CSA wrote saying they will write off the ex's debt unless they hear from me. They will be hearing from me. My letter is already in the post.
4) Went to floody town and walked around. Had a pot of tea.
5) Used stuff from the freezer for tea so Jamie Oliver's recipe chilli for bigger son and me and shepherds pie for smaller son.
6) Took my parents to a folk music Christmas get together thing. The pleasure was I actually got there and back without crashing on the ice. The whole thing was not a pleasure (2 hour round trip) as my mum was at her very worst and the spitefulness and criticism towards dad (sat in the back of the car!) was relentless. If I tried to say anything on a topic of my choosing, the venom was less but still a lot of poo-pooing. No questions about my life or sons or indeed about anything else. I had to have a bit of a go at her about "mauling" me - clutching at my arm as punctuation, or leaning over on my leg. I was driving but I can't abide it at any time. She then pretended to hit me in the head. My sister is picking them up at 10, so God speed...
7) Sainsburys order arrived while I was out so we actually have milk now, and tea bags! Also a few Christmas things like pigs in blankets. They have accidentally sent us a bottle of whisky, which is neither use nor ornament in this house as smaller son is the only person who drinks alcohol but not in that quantity!
8) Have had various messages about the English lessons and we are going to get together to make a little bag of Christmas presents for each chap.
9) In bed now with 2 hwb and will find something to watch on the television.7 -

2. A crisp sunny but cold walk for 3 miles with my doggie this morning.
3. Some sleep after nights today when doggie allowed.
4. Leftovers for dinner.
5. Central Heating - house feels warmer.

Hugs SSue x
For yesterday,
A full moon glimpsed between the bare branches of our apple tree.
Very cold but blue sky and some sunshine.
Capt S went outside and defrosted my car for me, it’s the little things that mean so much.
Spent the morning with the beautiful grey one, little walk around the fields and then grazed her in hand, the fencing is coming on well and her normal routine of out every day will soon be back.
Pottered around in the afternoon, salmon for tea.

Morning all 😊. Hugs to Sue and anyone else in need.
Beautiful moon the last 2 nights.
Took my friend to hospital appointment on Wednesday and I went to big Sainsbury’s while she was there. Got half price leg of lamb and a small gammon joint but not the 2 Christmas 🎄 presents 🎁 on my list.
Lidl shop yesterday, went out later than usual so car had defrosted itself in the sunshine. Bought a few Christmas 🎄 snacky things and a bottle of spiced rum for OH for Christmas.
Took my friend out for a birthday meal last night, OH took us there and then picked us up so a cocktail and a bottle of wine 🍷 were enjoyed with our meal, then back to hers for Baileys and tiramisu 😋
Dont think I’ll go to my exercise class today as it’s so cold out and I don’t think my legs are up to it. So probably an indoor day of housework ☹️, ironing and putting some decorations up. Hope I can get my washing machine working, I think the water supply is frozen, it’s all built in so don’t really know what to do, think I might direct a fan heater at it, it’s very cold in the kitchen, and it’s against the outside wall.
have a lovely Friday everyone 😊7 -
Hello and hello ( as I forgot to post last night.)
Friday fire is on. Sat reading a book I picked up in supermarket charity bookshelf this afternoon.
Yesterday I started painting the dolls house I got a few weeks before mum died. That I’d started painting then…and then followed a summer/autumn of house clearing and a trip to Australia. Anyway I’ve made a start and did more today.Went to a school Christmas Fayre with my boss. We did well and it was nice being in a Christmassy environment. Met a few folk I knew which is always nice.Home and then bed.Today I did a bit more painting this morning then another bit late afternoon though the light was dimming by that point.Had to pick something up for DD2 so had a huge big chatter there! And met a lovely doggy.Went to supermarket from there ( I’d waited till the sun came round enough to shine on car and melt the ice. Bought some RTC flowers ( had just put the ones friend had got me out yesterday)
Lit the fire.Hoovered upstairs and then as I came down the stairs. It is blooming freezing!6 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Pretty much finished the Christmas cards.
3) Tidy up continued. Cleaned the bathroom.
4) The cinema will be opening on Tuesdays as a warm bank so I might volunteer to do that. Also now on the list to work on the election then count in May next year. Plus remembered to send off for a timesheet to record the invigilation I did the other week.
5) Went into carpet town. Had a cup of tea in M and S. Texted my friend that both my house sale and house purchase are not moving.
6) Got home and the estate agent phoned and said there will be a new offer made on my house next week... Don't they talk in a silly way! Instead of just discussing the possible offer, they go all round the houses, saying, "There has to be a 1 and an 8 in it". Smaller son said, "Pah, perhaps they'll offer you £18!"
7) Learning the Arabic alphabet online.
8) Made linguine for tea with mixed seafood and leeks.
9) Smaller son and I popped to Sainsburys and listened to the football commentary in the car.6 -
Pleasures for Friday
1. Crisp walk of 3 miles with the doggie.
2. Lunch out with a friend
3. Usual place couldn’t fit us in so went elsewhere-delicious food.
4. Walking round the village green, sun shining - looked beautiful.
5. Remembering I may not have pots of money but I’m happy with my life now.
