Dfv- I'm so sorry to hear your news and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Suffolksue - you are in the right place and hopefully the good continues to be good. Look after yourself.
Mhags - take any help given. It's a terrible job and I was pleased when we did MIL house she had gone to a nursing home and so didn't have to deal with grief but it's often little things that being back memories that are hard.8 -
Heck, S Sue! That escalated quickly! As you say, the NHS are good in emergencies, and esp with hearts. Sending you strength and love x

For yesterday,
Warm, sunny day so changed the bedding, inc mattress & pillow protectors.
Several bee orchids have come up in the lawn, the real things are everywhere after not seeing one just a couple of weeks back and observing a furry bee bum disappear into the tube of an iris flower made me smile.
We thought about wandering down into the village for the celebrations but in the end stayed at home, reading in the garden and listening to TMS. Pimms and strawberries were enjoyed.
An evening walk around the fields.
Tasty tea, halloumi burgers with spicy sweet pot fries and HM slaw, only had room for a couple of squares of choc after that lot.10 -
Sue, 'one thing after another' now means at least one good thing, which is you receiving excellent care in the right place.
DfV - 💔🙏and🤲❤
Mhags - time for you to ease up and take care of yourself, enjoying dd2's return while you can.

Morning all
Armfuls of hugs to DfV, Mhags and S Sue... bucketsful and bagsful of hugs. Loads more available to anyone else in need.
I've just been listening again to the Youtube channel for Penny Stone, a singer, composer and teacher, who also describes herself as 'a hope-monger' - love it! She sings and teaches absolutely beautiful but simple acapella songs, often in harmony. I've found myself reaching for her work quite a lot since I discovered her. These two are favourites so I'm sharing the links in case they help anyone.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_AL9nIgbfk

Will post more pleasures later on.

In at work at silly o’clock ( I go in early to get the place and space to myself …I kind of spread out when I’m doing catering) so very quick doggy walk at 4.15am.
Back home about 5.45am and finally got DD1 out her bed ( wake me up, wake me up) to go to beach. We had the whole beach to ourselves and the tide was so far out. Dog in his element and I just loved being there that early and getting lungfuls of fresh air.Home and straight round to mums. We walked. Such a beautiful morning.DD2 joined us later and took home a chest of drawers and some plant pots. I’ve written on the de-clutter thread what I’ve done last two days if anyone remotely interested 😀😀
She brought us salad rolls from roll shop so we downed tools for a wee while.
walked home and then dozed off! Friend phoned. Chatted to her. Then went out into garden and lay on sofa. Oooft it was warm.Came in as I was too hot and it was much cooler inside. Started a cheesy Netflix film that I’ve watched before but hadn’t finished I don’t think. Anyway suitably un-intellectual😄
Did dishes. Sorted through my flowers again. Peonies had reached the oh I’m just going to drop my petals one flower at a time stage. So yes you’ve been pretty but out you go! I hate the stench of lilies and have lilies!Sympathy cards blew over when I opened front door and back doors were open so I’ve taken them down too. Bit like Christmas cards…lovely to get but lovely to take down again. I’m grateful to everyone who took the time to write kind words and bring us flowers. I’ve been very touched by kindness.Pulled a few weeds and watered the garden. It’s full of flowers which is lovely..how is it June? Grass needs a cut again but can wait till my worky days are done.Just going to make macaroni for girls. DD1 has prepped but I’m needed to make the sauce!Hoping for an early night as back to normal work days tomorrow.9 -
