For yesterday,
Twas beloved’s birthday so pressie opening over breakfast.
Unfortunately birthday boy had to work in the morning but it gave me the opportunity to go through the house after very little done over last week, not a pleasure to do but certainly a pleasure once done.
After lunch we popped small dog in the car and drove through horsey town to race course for a long walk, it was freezing cold and think we were all pleased to get home.
Chocolate birthday cake.
So cold in the evening that heating kicked in and we had to have a restorative snifter 😉

& has caught up again. Thankyou all - vl rugby osps, pk wedding anniversary and 4-foot oap agility, gardens/caravan/Mallorca/tip/family visits....& loves her tip runs and another is needed. Another £10 dog poo approver here,👍😁.
So busy of late, but here, randomly, goes -
1. Noticed a weedy flower, then more, white through the white currants. Uprooted them - next to compost anyway. Saw a very decent crop coming along, so deep-watered the bush. So dry!
2. 2 emergency Food Hub pick-up calls on Tuesday, ended up taking much of day. Incredible generosity, necessity and anti-foodwaste combined. It works.
3. The new studio pottery Communion Cup collected from the internationally renowned potter. Perfect. High-fired stoneware, glaze using ash from benefice village trees. First use will be this morning.
4. 32 baguettes - can't be frozen - to river at end of busy day, along with settling to final Preview of the Rugby season subbing/rewrites/edits. Many many swans, also ducks, coots, terns, moorhens, pigeons, sparrows et al.....happy, happy, the fed and the feeders. With such a quantity, & urged others to assist😁. An extraordinary acquaintance thereby struck......2 brothers. Would say more, but i.d s would be evident. We conversed and fed all comers for well over an hr, with more and more coincidental points arising. Utterly enjoyable chance meeting. Pics done and email insistence from their side. Very, very notable Light Blues as well.
& is to visit and stay, Corsica and/or Venice! -
especially after & said she knew neither.
Hmm, doubt it. Ems, etc. maybe.
On verra.....
5. First Lily of the Valley sprigs noted.💚🤍, ❤.

E evening folks, gosh it’s turned cold here. Thick socks and layers dug back out and curled up on the sofa with a toasty canine rug doing his job and keeping me warm.
a few pleasures.
1. Overnight bag retrieved from storage and clothes all sorted ready to pack in the morning….not so pleasurable I’m working away tomorrow and Saturday, still I shouldn’t complain it’s a nice hotel and they will keep me well fed and watered.
2. food prepped and cooking destructions instructions left for Mr M whilst the head chef is away.
3. First bath of the year had (don’t panic folks I do shower) but lovely to relax until wrinkled prune stage.
4. Ordered a lovely warm and practical winter coat at 70% off….love a bargain.

Hello
Bedtime ( though I did have a rather long afternoon nap! )Lovely chat with DD1 first thing this morning. She’s alright. So I’m alright.
Then round to mums expecting to be going in to town but she wasn’t ready and didn’t want to go, did suggest she might have let me know but anyway! Tidied up her mess again. It’s so disheartening.Chatted to her next door neighbour for about 20 minutes.Nipped over to friends to drop off a birthday gift we sat out in the garden for a wee while before she’d to go to work.Home and hello doggy. Then it was zzzzzz most of the afternoon!Washing all dried outside. Not been a warm day but at least a dry day.Just had some soup for tea.
Alarm set for silly o’clock!12 -
Recent pleasures:
Runner bean plants, which I grew from seed, planted 🤞 I get a good crop.
Pots and baskets planted up and tidied, using just 3 trays of new plants and repotting poppies which have sprung up from last year.
Managed one of my exercise classes, this week and last, after 5 weeks of feeling too yuk to go.
Katsu curry cooked and enjoyed, double portions cooked, so another ready meal for 2 in the freezer 😊
Tray of strawberries 🍓 £4 from Tesco, almost tasted as good as they looked.
