    Beautiful mrssd
    Hugs to vjsmum
Extremely impressed at mrt bill mhagslast time I went there to buy dog food (£9) my bill was £27 due to ‘extras’ of doggie shampoo, hair dye for me and an airfreshner
    1) I read the whole of the next book for book club (the elementalist)Oops, only meant to read a tenth. The joy of still being on holiday
    2) Lovely long walk up balgay with the boys - something else i’ll miss weekdays till the days get longer
    3) finished a ppt, started another (they need finished before I go back)
    4) son unexpectedly home for a couple of hours. So lovely to see him. He’s spent. Most of the break with his recently bereaved gf and her mum
    5) mrpiano and I dropped him at the station on our way to a party. Good singsong, then we counted Christmas trees still up on the way home. The town still looks pretty with the lights up, and we have a couple of rigs in which are also lit up. With tonight’s haar they looked magical.

    Very frustrating Frith

    yesterday

    1. Pleased to report that I have spent nearly all day working on my assignment. I have really enjoyed it. Hope I can finish it today, but not enough references, so going to be tricky.

    2. The last of the washing mountain. :j

    3. Not having to go out into the wind and the rain, except to give DS1 a lift to work.

    4. Pizza Express offers ......got 3 Pizzas for £15. No cooking :j Came home and did another hour on assignment.

    5. Watched the Feud before bed.

    Have a lovely day :)

    Will try and find 5

    1. Colleague/friend son only had a bad infection. Thought it could have been worse. Great treatment by doctors and ultrasound team.

    2. Read my book on the bus to and from work and took my ow lunch in so didn't spend any money.

    3. Eventually managed to speak to someone at sky. Coming to fix it on Sunday rather than in 3 weeks and will reimburse us with period we have been without it for.

    4. DS2 made chicken pie for tea. It was very good.

    5. Some Christmas decorations down.

Found 5 day was better than I thought!

    Wednesday pleasures,

Apart from a garden pot and some small branches from the beech trees not too much damage from high winds.

Half price calendar and diary from garden centre, the calendar is a family organiser type so both dogs and the horse now have their own column for appointments :D

Watched film, old one called 84 Charing Cross Road, oh my what an unexpected pleasure that sweet, gentle film was.

Late night texts from friend broke gadget ban but she was having a bad wobbly and needed a pal.

    HWB and reading in bed.

    1. Went to work later this morning (no breakfast club for DD's first day of school) which meant bags of time this morning as we didn't leave til 8! I managed to clean the kitchen, prep dinner, make homemade vegetable soup for lunches today and tomorrow, put away one load of laundry and hang up another. Also remembered to pack my running kit for lunch.
    2. All 5 freecycle collectors showed last night, more to collect tonight. I'm hoping we can get rid of everything we've decluttered by Sunday evening. Yay! In fact, one of my biggest pleasures has been looking at our desk area which - despite the rest of the house being fairly minimal and usually very tidy - had grown to this monstrosity due to illness, Christmas and general laziness:

but on Tuesday evening I cleared out all the drawers, scanned/shredded/recycled heaps of things and organised what remains which means it's back to parity:

    Woohoo!

    3. French class starts again tonight. Really looking forward to it. It's made me realise how much I miss learning and I'm considering doing another degree, but at Birkbeck, which means a couple of evenings a week. Anyway, really looking forward to French!

    4. Beautiful thank you card from my boss's boss. She's going through a hard time at the moment so my boss and I put together a little stocking before Xmas of all her favourite things. She came in on Tuesday and welled up as she told me how much it meant. She's a lovely lady and balancing being on the Board, having a family and a whole heap of awful problems at the moment so I'm glad it made her feel thought of.

    5. Managed to eat under my calorie allowance yesterday. I have crept up to 145lbs which is the biggest I've ever been! Realised I need to knock it on the head now with lots of running, soups and salads.
  • #RAF100 in 86 Days!

5 Back to the camera club tonight. Should be fun! More later.

4 Dinner tonite is curry, prepared from days of old, well only last year actually. Proper boiled rice tonight and none of that fancy egg fried stuff I have done recently! Of course, you can buy this inn the emporium with added carp and bits should you wish to nuke it!

3 At mill discussions on the new bales of hay have started. Usual rule, invoice Monday, pay FryDay! Next sacks look good at the moment.

2 I note peoples are suffering because jenny, coming up to her sixth birthday, has not be energetic recently. So for all the bio hazards out there - :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls

This ends today’s happenings in your version of the Life of BoP!

    Thursday pleasures

    1. Posted parcels to DSis & DB, France & Germany respectively. DB has 2 hand knitted scarves when he only requested one. Also posted parcel to cousin baby sheets & blanket regifted after 25 years!

    2. Shopping in an almost empty sm

    3. The sound of DH decorating the spare bedroom - no my hearing is dreadful it is just that the floorboards creak!

    4. Rock Cakes cooling on rack.

    5. Washing up re baking - done & draining

    6. Looking forward to the third & final evening of chilli & rice. Leftovers will go in freezer.

    7. Watching the squirrels hanging on to fence with a fierce wind trying to blow them into next door’s garden! Wicked I know but brings a smile to my face as they have both been successful in staying put!

Well wishes to the poorlies - please stay warm & snug.

    Have a good night

    Mrs SD:)

  • 1) Feeling better today and being much more useful in the house (I actually vacuumed) and not being blitzed by lunchtime.

    2) Unpacked DD2s Christmas present which is a lovely cast iron griddle that fits over 2 x burners on the hob and finding that it is reversible with a flat cooking plate and a ridged side. I can make breakfast pancakes for us now without having to do two batches!

    3) Trip out to another garden centre a few miles away for a change of scenery after being stuck indoors for the last few days and found some reduced lime pickle to keep He Who Knows happy, I feel a curry coming on.

    4) Salmon for supper tonight.

    5) He Who Knows has re-negotiated our broadband deal and TV subscription and got us an upgrade in speed, a new hub and the price fixed at what we have been paying for the next 18 months, can't be bad can it?
