DD sorry to hear about your friend.
1. Good dog walk - started to rain but luckily only very heavily after I had arrived home.
2. Met a friend for coffee. Good to catch up and felt better after our chat.
3. DS1 arrived at so I resort and went skiing.
4. Spoke with my parents and saw a video clip on my Dad using his new stair lift. He seems to have got to grips with it.
5. Sunshine whilst in the garden.
In the garden I found a neighbours car who had died. Didn't seem to have any injuries on her. The neighbour came to pick her up.10 -
Sorry to hear your sad news about your friend, Dundee Doll. We know we all will die sometime but it's still a shock to hear of the death of someone we know. It's almost as if we expect them to be around forever.
I was sad the other day- a colleague some months ago lost his little daughter in a car accident. I found out the other day it was actually his wife who was driving - parking car in drive, little girl runs out of house....one of the most awful kinds of accident. It will take a lot for that family to come to terms with the situation but fortunately they have a big supportive family and friends.
Anyway, there are still pleasures to be had.
Several days off ahead, I spread my annual leave evenly throughout the year. A chance to catch up on things domestic.
Trying a session of vocal yoga online (you can find it on YouTube). Really good breathing and stretching exercises to strengthen the voice, and relaxing too.
Dog is as ever a complete joy. The sheer delight when she sees me putting a certain pair of shoes on because that means walkies.
Washed the car on the drive yesterday. Blooming cold outside but so satisfying to see a clean shiny car again. Good exercise too.
And talking of exercise - I have raised cholesterol so need to crack on and lose about a stone in weight along with some abdominal flab that has sneaked up on me. I also never exercise so need to step up the physical activity. After one week of healthier eating, smaller portion sizes, more veg etc, and trying to move more, I have lost 1 kg in weight and 2 cms from my waist. A promising start.
Seeing more sunshine around and new growth on trees and bushes. The first signs of Spring are there.
Clean linen on the bed, a weekly ritual.
A cheesy 1960s James Bond film, Dr No. My son and I have decided to watch all the Bond films in order. A bit of escapism in troubled times. One life - your life - live it!12 -
Sorry to hear about your friend, DD.
12.30, BBC1. We shall be standing behind the goal, at the back of the terraces, on the right (as you look at the goal). I’ll be in a white fleecy jumper with a dark hat (which looks like a continuation of my hair). Smaller son will be in a grey hoodie, no hat as he’s too tough but black hair and 30cm taller than the other spectators. We will wave to you!
