1. A very exciting match and another win in extra time. Perhaps not fully deserved win but great atmosphere and loads of noise. Atmosphere is often great on night games.
2. Indian meal after the match. Small restaurant in Twickenham full of Quins supporters. DH had driven there.
3. Enjoyed my dog walk - lovely blue skies and sun but cold. Went a slightly different way to normal and different views.
4. Long chat with my parents on the phone. My Dad has had his MRI scan on his neck and is waiting for results. He is able to walk a bit now with the help of painkillers.
5. Clean sheets.9 -
For yesterday,
Busy morning, changed bed, made bread and fruit scones for the weekend.
A wander around the garden, lots of very welcome green shoots from various bulbs planted.
Over to see pony, she was less interested in the new head-collar than the apple that I had in my pocket, I managed a bite before she gently but determinedly took it out of my mouth, made me smile. Filled up her feed bin and generally pottered.
Paella for tea, hadn’t replaced the saffron so not very yellow but tasty all the same, glass of wine with.
Reading my book in bed, surely one of life’s greatest pleasures.

I love Paella,do you make your own ?9

Paella. We has cheats safron rice, like that servd in the ... Termites are used (Termeric!!!) Not in Jimmy the Cook's books! Though is better done as the Kedgeree! All Across the Boughs!
Was again inn the gym last eve getting beech ready. HC! That is how The Admiral keeps ship shape. Now doesing what I was pre bunker down!
Wents to the alchemy to get me tablets and now I has not to pay for them at last! Another saving! Washed me pill dispenmser this morning ready to load up my tablets and vitamins! Mes cardio quack insists I take me vitamins every day!
Has the flat bread for supper last evening. Served with some fiery fizzy waters and cheeses. Watched The Edge of War on the Netflix thing. Very good and recommended by the Admiral. Jeremy Irons played a very good part, and though fictional to real events, did not overplay the actual drama.
The Albatross was up at the sparrows and off to her work, leaving her Admiral to laze. Then up withs mes honey monster for brakefest and tea. Cleaned the sides and now watching the bash. Tee is mugged!
Jen sends her buxxxxxx

Art'noon all
I don't cull socks much - i just wear odd ones..
Pleasures recently
emptying DD's stuff out of my cupboards - and seeing empty space emerge (she is moving out)
successfully lighting fires
Successful teaching - tutorials especially but teaching teaching was OK, just a bit like talking to a brick wall. Anyway, nastiest subject is done.
Lunch with friend and a walk and a coffee with other friend
cooked a sausage casserole and leek and potato soup - proper food and good for you.
watched The Tourist.
But the biggest news is that DS has finally got a proper, full time job - the lift in his mood was incredible.
Laters all.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
For yesterday
1 Deep cleaned the bathroom and bedroom it took an age, numerous wash loads created of towels, bedding etc.
2 Food was proper Cumberland bangers with oven chips.
3 We drove to a new to us vets that has a vet we have used before at set in the most beautiful quaint town, we took our Bournville polecat for a check-up and to get him some painkillers as he has arthritis in his back legs
For today.
1 Slept well for the first time in a while, and no plans for the weekend so lounging.
2 We weren’t expecting to see an immediate result from Bonnies pain killers but even this quickly he seems perkier and is playing under rugs and in tubes.
3 De cluttering is starting to show a little, the bathroom which in this house was obviously a forgotten ops we should have a bathroom to sell it so it is literally the length of the bath and width including loo and sink, we now have space in the cupboards.
4 Still following meal planning, but rather looking forward to a Chinese takeaway next week.
5 We have been searching about a year for the perfect piece of furniture to come up second hand for the quality and touch wood and fingers crossed it has now, just have to wait now as its on the auction site.

Well done, VJ's son!
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) A much more exciting football match today than on Tuesday. Beat York 3-0. A very few of their supporters were absolutely awful and had to be tackled forcefully by 10+ stewards then were marched out by 3 police officers! Smaller son enjoyed it (the match, not the opposition punching each other, though that was a spectacle too).
3) Picked up a Chinese takeaway on the way home.
4) Did the virtual pub quiz.
5) Watched Casualty.
6) My first Oddbox has just arrived. Does anyone know what to do with kohlrabi? I was impressed with the contents - the kohlrabi, several apples and tangerines, a few carrots, 2 peppers, butternut squash, a head of celery, a mango, a bag of Brussels sprouts and some kale.
ETA - an evening of Dolly Parton on BBC2! Sitting in bed with 1 hwb and singing along. At no point in life was I a soprano...12 -
Fab news re DS job vjsmum hope you coping ok with emptying DD's cupboards
laughed at the termites - turmeric is indeed a very good anti-inflammatory
kohlrabi sounds interesting frith do let us know how you get on (have now looked up Oddbox, looks good)
1) early start to walk (with dogs) with dd2 to bus stop -> train down to Liverpool - she is staying tonight in a premier inn (i was happy to pay) and friend (not sure if bf) is coming to help her check on boat tomorrow as her dad arrives back tomorrow
2) Mr G picked me up, no sign of Dr M, he'd gone for his usual coffee and guardian in town and missed the bus back 🤣 he sent me a text to explain, we found him eventually and off we drove to the beginning of the walk up Hill of Strone. weather was lovely
3) super walk. i was a little puffed going up the steepest part but got there in the end. cloud had descended by then and the wind had got up - very cosy in my Jack Wolfskin fleece and waterproof and my thinsulate hat and gloves. Dr M divulged he was wearing long johns under his trousers 😮.
4) stopped off in Kirriemuir on the way back for coffee and muffins. We'd been discussing favourite muffins - Dr M lemon, Mr G blueberry, me chocolate - coffee shop had 3 muffins left, one lemon, one blueberry, one chocolate. perfect end to perfect walk. Dr M said he wanted to go see West Side Story. I said me too. Us being us that's as far as it got.
5) home 4:40, sorted dogs, quick shower then back to pub for Southampton game (5:30 ko) - Dr M and Mr G discussed other walks they're going to take me on. Then Mr G left for his curry with his wife, then Dr M said 'drink up we're catching the xxx bus' so I did. Next Dr M episode will be Tuesday as that's our next planned trip to Mennies - I may even bring up the subject of West Side Story 😝MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
