1) forgot the pasta I'd put on rapid boil - went upstairs to finish important email and was alerted by the smell of smoke - the good news is i didn't burn down the house and the saucepan seems to be saved
2) I'd only put the Mediterranean fish stew on simmer and it was delish (the fish was a bargain ys)
3) f2f meeting with a PhD student up at Ninewells for the afternoon - caught the bus, ticket machine was jammed so driver gave me a freebie
4) drinks with the boss - she'd invited some others - as usual i had a very large gin and tonic without the gin
5)late night of work was encouraged along with a night of Faure on ClassicFM and a beautiful moonMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning - cold and frosty here
D Doll - difficult to plan an outfit that's attractive yet suitable for hill walking in Scotland in January! But I'm sure you'll think of something!
Lainey - so sad about your friend. Hugs to you both
Good news about your dog though. Wonder if there's something similar for humans😂
Plodding steadily on here. Nothing exciting, but that's good.
Finally got through to the surgeon's secretary. DH is indeed ' on the list' but she doesn't know how long the list is! Got another number to ring for that.
Went to visit a poorly friend yesterday. She didn't look well but perked up a bit as we chatted. The worst bit is she's normally a sociable soul but at the moment is unable to get out and so that's getting her down. Promised myself I'd visit more often.
Managed to lose the Christmas/ comfort eating weight. Woo hoo!
Happy frosty day everyone

Ha, how true HappyCas, I could do with a similar boost!
For yesterday,
A Mistle thrush bouncing along the bottom of our hedge, rare visitor to our garden.
The postman came with a present for equine pal, a rather posh new headcollar and lead rope, hers was so frayed and worn I doubt that it would hold a determined escape effort.
At the yard, good chat with fellow livery owner and horsey cuddles.
Tasty tea, leek and cheese pie which was a NS recipe from new book.
The moon rising from behind a dark cloud.

Lainey sorry to hear about your friend.
1. Worked at different site so work was ok. Last day I will see a colleague as she is leaving as has a new job. I am pleased for her. I will see her again as she has tickets booked for rugby in a couple of weeks. I will write a very similar post in just under 2 weeks as someone else is leaving work who also has rugby tickets booked.
2. A lovely man helped me change my tyre. I can do it and have done it in the last bit couldn't undo the nuts. He had problems too so didn't feel too feeble.
3. A colleague who badly sprained her ankle last Friday and it's not improving was advised by her GP to have an xray. I sent her there early so she caught normal bus home. Our boss on Wednesday made her walk on it all day seeing patients as boss sat and did telephone consultations all day..
4. Quiet evening with candles lit. Started a new jigsa
5. DH heard that he will get some money from isolating when he was positive. Not heard how much yet but anything will be useful.11 -

1. Sort and cull of many, many socks. More to do. Where have they come from? The start of more major sort and cull. So much can go. All done while listening to Quins snatch the win from Castres, vl - thought of you. Exciting match!
2. Will newbies understand if & declares yesterday was an npd/nsd? 👏
3. Another little handful of tiny fresh dug pommes de terre with emporium rtc lamb chops and a lush, slow simmered courgette/tomato/hg garlic reduction, using last of last year's special ollive oil - gift from old Uni friend's daughter's quinta in Portugal. All yum.
4. Hwb warming bed while & enjoyed osp 3.
5. Robin's immediate arrival and chat as & pegged out laundry. We conversed😁. Much birdie activity and munching all over garden, outbuildings, trees. Constant osp through kitchen window.

Awake before 5. Awaiting R5x Oz Open coverage. So much better without ykw. & can probably cope with Rafa nearing his career's end if Carlos Alcaraz Garfia continues to shape up well. He's learning all the time, as is Raducanu.

Hello
Admiral - might be getting beach ready, but until DH reaches top of hospital waiting list ( which is on a par with finding the end of the rainbow!) it will be Brid North beach again this year. So the beach body will be all covered in warm clothes.
D Doll - all agog for next instalment!
Went to new shops/ cafe at nearby wildlife park yesterday. Lots of new building going on. Nice cafe and posh shops. Fortunately a lot didn't open until 12 so couldn't buy anything.
Watched another episode of Hidden Assets then Would I Lie to You to lighten things up.
Made an apple sponge. Was very good with the last splash of cream we had.
Happy Saturday everyone12 -
