DD lovely news about your friends son.
Not posted for a while. It seems to have been too much effort to get stuff done that needed to be done. Feeling much better now.
Some random pleasures over the last week or so.
1. A friend's support.
2. Walking a neighbour's dog. It made me appreciate again how lovely the area is here.
3. Attended my sister in law memorial service. DH was asked to say a toast. It was a strange experience as we hadn't seen her in over 30 years. Her husband arranged a moving service.
4. The service was at Sherbourne Abbey which I had never been to before. It is a lovely Abbey and town. We had a walk round as we arrived early.
5. Feeling much better11 -
Hey Villagelife
For yesterday,
Started off well with an early morning visit from electrician to replace the element in oven, did warn me that it’s on its last legs but has been here for years and doesn’t owe me anything.
Off into town to pick up parcels from emporium.
Home and the familiar start to a migraine, wriggly worms in front of my eyes ☹️ took painkillers and headed off to bed to try and sleep off.
Capt S cooked tea, chicken pasta, couldn’t manage much but appreciated the effort.
Did watch last episode of Shetland, just wish it had been Ted Hastings who had made the arrest!13 -
Doggy Walks!
Ms Paulie! BAH HUMBUG! Same goes for Frith!
Cooking books from Mum to the ...
And a chicken pasta!
Three sheets to the ...
The Albatross did not beat my land speed record yesterday! She is making another attempt this morning. News later!
Checked my savings from not using the W store, now without cafe and bakery! It is running 50% more expensive. Our other Discount Surplus Store is opening next week.
Watched the university quiz last night then some old items on the box. John Adams. Fruit juices and cheeses were taken!
Took kitty, who now adorns her podium stand, to her lawn to have a run about, she just rolls everywhere and then bunny hops across the grass! This is what happens when you feed them proper cat food, cheaper at the Discount Surplus Store than the W!
Now having my big mug of tea and some seal bar watching the ladies bash cricket!

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Seem to have a bit of a cold.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to have my eyebrows threaded and beard waxed off.
4) Had a cup of tea in M and S cafe.
5) Collected smaller son from college at 12. He hasn't said much about his day but seems happy enough.
6) Had a Chinese takeaway for tea and I walked about floody town and admired the Christmassy shop windows while I waited for it.
7) We've saved the prawn crackers to eat during I'm a Celebrity!
11 -
1) macaroni peas and cheese - comfort food at its best
2) mum called round at lunch time - she's very excited about moving in next August and is finally sorting through her books hooray
3) lovely phone catch-up with dd2
4) a very exciting Leicester game - Rangers also on so didn't risk going to pub and finding they were all watching the Scottish match (fair dos in Scotland!) - stood for most of first half pacing 🤣 great result, looking forward to Justin's return Admiral
5) and now ending the evening with last episode of ShetlandMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 127 / 625

Good morning, I’m trying to kid the dog that it’s not quite get up time yet but he’s stirring so I’ll type quickly!
Thursday was a day of doggy walks and doggy snuggles. Was a very cold and frosty start to the day had a quick chat with DD1 as I was walking.Hoovered and washed floors.Caught up on some catch up to stuff whilst snuggling. Then it was in to work late afternoon to set up for a fundraising event which went very well. Raised a decent amount for a local charity and then had the pleasure of phoning people later to say they’d won…one was a lady I’d joked with and said oh these are the winning tickets so we had a laugh when I called her back! And her friends who’d she’d came in with were all cheering in the background.13 -
For yesterday
1. Good drive to work - still lots of colour on the trees.
2. Work at different site and no contact with managers.
3. Support of a colleague - she is only young but wise beyond her years.
4. Iced my Christmas cake. It normally gets done in Christmas eve.
5. Lit my candles.

For yesterday,
Bit of a slow day as had a migraine hangover but achieved a decent amount.
Sorted through cupboard in spare room, found a duvet and blanket that forgotten about so no need to buy ahead of festive visitors.
Worked equine girlie on lunge, all fine on right rein but, unusually for her, she reared up and misbehaved on the left, wonder if there is some residue stiffness, will monitor and if necessary get her physio out.Had to go back out to the yard later as had forgotten her chaff, she was asleep in her stable and was surprised to see her Mum again.
Capt S home late due to work so tea was a baked spud with cheesey beans.13 -
Prawn Crackers!
Lit Candles, musty do our cake, currently it is drinking bourbon!
Mhags when yous finished hoovering, there be some cobwebs need doing on the quarter deck!
DD you reminds me of Mum! Pacing up and down for the football Bang clatter of that 73 Poland match still shirks the dust!
LT your gal was expecting treats!
All on Bored!
Unfortunately, the Albatross did not break my land speed record yesterday! She has made another attempt this morning, so lead foot Sue will be burning the rubber ion town!
Was in the Fiery Water gaff yesterday for supper, we were herding ashore tonight in town but the weather says no! I had bangers and mash and the Albatross had pie and mash! The Becks blue was good, and she had a glass of wine. She does look nice in her glitzy top!
Then home for some fiery fizzy waters and cheeses and the second part of John Adams! Exceptionally good series, both factual and a little licence to go! Five more to go and far better than the celeb love ins on the box!
Was out to get the non-charity xmas cards! Thirty for £1.79! The charity ones were £2.99 for ten! I say non charity as the ones that play on you saying they give to charity, only give a couple of 5p pieces! So that aloud me to put £10 to the SSAFA (who run the Vets Breakfast Clubs!) into their coffers instead! Still got some spare cash for the RAFBF as well! Heard on the Steve Allen show that the super model who collected £11,000,000 for her charity has managed to give out £5,000 in aid! Late reurns available on the Charity Commission website!!! Avoid!
So now I is sat with my mug of tea and some chocolate bar, KitKat! Later, as it is Friday, it is a Crunchie as well! As the Discount Surplus Store does it trifles in threes, I can have the extra one! Yum Yum! Other foods are available!
That's all! oh, take a look in the mirror. Yous will see a very exceptional person!
Jen sends a Buzz!
Keep Safe!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!13
