Good morning

A weekend of two halves for us.

Went to the caravan to shut it down for winter. Were blessed with beautiful warm weather so lots of nice walks by the sea.  And a stunning sunset.

Then Sun morning, a phone call from DS to say we'd been burgled Sat evening. Patio door smashed, things tipped out of drawers all over but very little taken.  The police said they'd be looking for cash and jewellery.  Well, they came to the wrong house!  We keep very little cash and myjewellery is  more sentimental value than anything.
They had taken the spare car key and the spare set of house keys.  We had the locks changed yesterday afternoon, the patio door is boarded up and the car is currently elsewhere!
So today will be a day of admin! It's more a nuisance than anything else and we're cross with ourselves because we had become lax about security. But no more.  All stable doors will be securely locked henceforth.

So a gentle reminder to everyone.  Don't be like us! The policeman who came out says now is prime burglary time in the run up to Christmas.  Check your security, outside lights etc.

Belated birthday wishes PK

For yesterday,

Up early and took small dog for her first walk, eye-wateringly cold but clear skies with a beautiful sunrise.

Saw my other girl too, she was in a woo-hoo mood!

No oven so walked down to the pub in the village for lunch, tasty food and it was busy enough without feeling overwhelmed.

Walking home and we could see some weather coming over so quick change into welly boots to take small dog out again, just got home as a hailstorm hit.

Cosy evening in, candles lit, with just a month to the winter solstice we are really starting to hunker down now.

ETA oh HappyCas, that is a bit rubbish, hugs x

Back on Bored!

More from the Galley! Did Salmon with crushed tatties and peas, with homemade Parsley sauce for dinner yesterday! Very tasty and then the last of the chocolate sponge with instant lumpy skin on custard!

Had the usual weekend breakfast. Banger and best back, with mushrooms and poached egg on Saturday and the dippy eggs on Sunday! 

Watched two films as well, Bean and My one and only! Fiery waters and cheeses were taken!

Jen gives her usual buzz!

Me again

Just realised I should be posting pleasures. And there are some!

DS who went round Saturday night and sorted the boarding up.

Wonderful neighboura who reported incident to police and liaised throughout.

DDiL, D D and her OH who cleared up broken glass and picked up and folded clothes. By the time we got home it was all but sorted.

Kind and efficient claims handlers.

Locksmith who came out at short notice on a Sunday and didn't over-charge.

And last but not least, that it's only goods and chattels.

Nargleblast

Pleasures today.....

Quick morning walk with dog , and she found a rugby ball under a hedge. That has gone in the garden to join the two footballs she found previously.

Last Choir session of term, we sang through several of our songs.

Hearing we've been booked for another Christmas event in two weeks time - it's just outside my village so I can walk there.

An interesting pineapple and carrot pickle with the katsu chicken and rice at lunchtime. It was pretty to look at, and tasted nice and fresh, but I was a bit heavy on the chopped chilli. I will know next time.

Watched a couple of episodes of Father Ted, off the wall comedy.

A longer afternoon walk with dog. She met her black lab friend in the park. 

Gorgeous sunset starting on return.

In the house, curtains drawn, lights on. It's really cold out there. Now to have a cup of herbal tea and maybe the odd biscuit.

Pleasures for Saturday
1. more marking - nearly done
2. cinema with DD - 'Spencer', it was weird. 
3. The Villa won so happy menfolk
4. More 'This is Us'
5. Dinner with old friends and oH drove

Sunday
1. 9 hours sleep, bliss!
2. DD cleaned bathrooms and DS hoovered.
3. OH picked up leaves (my jobs are dusting and cleaning kitchen which will be done anon)
4. More marking, really nearly done now (4 left!)
5. OH cooked a roastie dinner though i had a veggie parcel with trimmings.

And today
1. Graduation day - I finally got to wear 'The' hat. 


2. good trains in both directions
3. nice walk through London
4. meeting up with a supervisor who had gone just for me.
5. pizza in our favourite place on the south bank.
