Sorry to hear your sad news, Bala, and I hope the funeral goes smoothly.
DD - yes, I imagine that must be very strange news.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Vaccine side effects are going (looks like it is 2 days for a Pfizer booster). Just weirdly got a stiff arm pit now on the injected side!
3) Hens OK.
4) A scary morning of a 1.25 hour zoom interview facing 3 nice ladies. I am now accreditation mentor to a small local museum! Bigger son reappeared just before the interview started and loomed behind me at one point, putting his shoes on (he has been out cycling all day). I wonder now if they thought I had a random bearded man staying with me. I said, "Oh, that was my older son going out," and they all seemed very relieved and started talking about their own children!
5) Smaller son did not go to college but did do 3 days out of 4 this week. We went to Tesco in the afternoon and he is quite chipper today.
6) Made a big batch of tomato sauce which turned out well. We had half of it for tea with spaghetti and meatballs.
7) Listening to the Virtual Pub Quiz (I don't always write the answers down) then will watch Taskmaster. In bed with 1 hwb.11 -
Hello. A great big hug for anyone who needs one right now. And being thankful we have this safe space to write down how we are feeling.I’m just in from my boss’ . We’ve been forward planning for the very busy next few weeks leading up to Christmas. So it was nice to be creative and make suggestions and be listened to.I did write a huge post earlier and then away it went to wherever post go!Yesterday.
Main pleasures were I got my new car. DD2 was negative. I picked up a ‘too good to go bag’ and was very happy with the contents. Nice doggy walks.Today.I got to drive my car in daylight ( was dark when I picked it up) had to go to local ( expensive) petrol station as I didn’t know if there was enough to get to the one in town I normally go to. However £30 nearly filled the tank so that’s alright!Went in to town. Bought some eucalyptus from my favourite florist and had a quick chatter, then in to the next shop and bought a necklace and also had a nice chat. M & S , a few things in £land and then home. Bought GNephew two pairs of jeans at 99p each in a charity shop. I did the rounds of them but I don’t really need anything and nothing jumped out!Went straight to mums and did stuff there. Holy moly at state of kitchen.Supermarket and bought some food for food bank as well as our shopping.Home. Hello doggy! Let’s go a walk.Tidied up, put shopping away ( a loathsome task) , sorted my flowers. Hoovered. Hung up washing.Had rice and chicken for my tea, then went up to boss’
Then a quick doggy walk. Almost full moon and a few stars but quite cloudy.Happy to be a car owner again!Son sent me a text…pick a hamper! He gets one free from his work so that was nice he thought of his mum!14 -

Aw PK, bless his heart, RIP little one.
Many congratulations Frith.
For yesterday,
Busy morning with chores and errands, topped up with bird food as the feeders are starting to drop quickly again.
Although I did see a big ol bumble bee on the late honeysuckle flowers and had to release a butterfly from the spare room.
Met a new lady as arranged by VN, we chatted along merrily for an hour or so and it was agreed that I would be her regular visitor.
Lentil and mushroom bake for tea, followed by a slice of mincemeat flapjack as still hungry.
Tired so an early night and reading in bed.

3. Eventually got into my teams lesson after a lot of hassle
4. Managed to get some marking done
5. Did a bit of a binge watch of This Is Us. It's lovely
Have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Bean bags and global room!
Tom sauce!
Raw food and wood pellets?
Blood test! Give them what for!
Drizzle cake. Always lemon, never orange!
Big Bee!
Too good to bag!
Mess Deck calls!
Was out this morning at the AFVBC we have and all is well! Bangers and tea was taken, as well as the SSAFA were there. If you think you are coerced by a celeb on a media site to empty your cash, they could do with a penny! After 202 years since the vagrancy act was billed to rid the streets of Napoleonic veterans, we still have old soldiers on the streets!
Was in the gym last night trimming to get beach ready, it hurt! But is good for the ship shape state I is in!
Then home for small Cornish pilchards in tomato sauce on toast!, with a drizzle of chilli sauce!
Played the Albatross at Scabble, as we were 1-1 this week, with the Albatross taking an early lead in her chance after getting a win earlier, of getting two on the bounce! Fortunately the Admiral got a seven letterer our and more than clawed his way back to lead 2-1 on the week! That leaves the Albatross only one win away again from the chance of going for two on the bounce! Fiery fizzy waters and cheese was taken!
The Albatross took the Admiral to her work this morning and set another land speed record on the way! Then I did the shop at the local discount surplus store, our other discount surplus store in town is getting shelves fitted and the sign light is on! I think the remains of our W will be history soon! The cafe is no more there, but I stopped going when my prepaid coupon for my paper was not acceptable. Money now stays in my pocket and the free tea! Forget it, cafe closed! AVOID!
While at the discount surplus store, I bought the ingredients for the Finger Kebabs! Cherry toms on stalks! cheeses and some cocktail bangers! All you has to do for the Finger Kebabs is a cut cocktail banger, a cherry tom and a cube of cheese onto a cocktail stick! Got it? As bought from the discount surplus store, it cost £4.97, with cheeses and bangers left over for the week, so I say it really cost less! If I had been to the non cafe W it would cost over £6 for the bangers and tomato! AVOID! In fact, I did a price test with W and it is on average over 50% more expensive!
So with the Finger Kebabs, I am ready to sit, like DD, tonight and bring on the footie! #UTM #UTH
Fiery fizzy waters have also beeb acquired!

Keep Safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!12 -
We have a fieldmouse in the house !
OH is leaving food for her every night on the premise that if he feeds her in that room she won't go anywhere else. What if she is a she......and has babies ! Oh my goodness.........
I think my crows are back after a very very long abscence. I saw 3 today but couldn't make out if it is the same group with their Mallen streaks. Would love to see Flo again.
Have a lovely evening

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Another day of invigilating. You've got to be "on it", which is tiring. You might have only 6 people in your room, but there will be 4 different colours of writing paper to hand out, 1 might use a laptop, 5 might be entitled to readers or prompts, 3 will have extra time and 1 can ask for a rest break.
Anyone who can remember smaller son's high school will understand why 20+ teachers left and now work at the school where I am invigilating... One recognised me and almost exploded in anger explaining how his former school had gone downhill and did not mince his words about the head. (Actually, we never quite worked out whether he recognised me or that I look so much like smaller son that he thought he knew me from that!)
4) Chips from the van for tea.
5) Am in bed already with a cup of tea, hwb and will watch television for a while.
6) I did spent the quiet bits of invigilating planning the next week, then Christmas, then the whole of 2022 so I feel organised now without having actually done anything!13 -
1 Up early to pop DH’s car in for its mot, all done hooray.
2 Hair coconut oiled, face pack, hoovered all upstairs and changed our bedding while waiting for the various packs to work. Then cleaned up the rest of the house all done for a few days but didn’t achieve the painting I should have done today ops, in fact I procrastinated away as much as possible.
3 Numerous birds and a pair of crows down for food and lovely wagtail and the teeniest wren, which lead me to looking up this fable.
4 A very late delivery of groceries but much appreciated.
