We’re in Derbyshire for the week 😊
Good journey up here stopping at beautiful Kedleston Hall on the way.
Lovely cottage and currently having a cuppa and lie in in a huge comfy bed dark and peaceful on the farm.
Gorgeous view from the cottage last night with a peek of sunset.
Cooked nice dinner of chicken Kiev with a bottle of red 🍷 followed by baileys and chocolate!
OH is off to his mighty iron versus the Stags today whilst we’re up here, I’m dropping him off then going to Chesterfield.
have a great day 😊

Looks smashing PH, we love Derbyshire.
For yesterday,
Met a friend in horsey town for a coffee then popped into the emporium for a few bits for the weekend.
As always, time spent with the beautiful grey one, today she had a bit of a pamper with her mane, tail and legs tidied up which she always enjoys.
Changed the bed, made a loaf and generally pottered around.
New recipe for tea, a James Martin one with Taleggio cheese, leeks and bacon over baked potato quarters, very nice but rich. What wasn’t so nice was my oven giving up the ghost half way through so that will need to be sorted today.
Best news of all, the hollowlegged ones plus a lovely gf are spending Christmas with us, Capt S is absolutely chuffed as you can imagine.

Lovely pics, Paulie.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Up early for the early train - wasn't such an 'ooof' moment as i'd feared. Train journey there was smooth
2. 'there' was reading where we began another 10 mile section of Thames path. beautiful walk past some stunning, massive houses
3. Lunch in a pub - with beer
4. DS came with us - was lovely to spend some time with him. He's been a bit 'off' again lately but seems better now
5. Home - eventually. Journey back not so smooth but we got there in the end. DD picked us up from the station
have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
We used to have Raffles, a cure for Field mice!
Oh, and other furry things!
I linked into my in today and there are two pages on the LinkedIn of graduations at Dundee! Had a peep to see if DD was in the background!
Mind you I took that as you were in the Stationary shop when mennies was said! Now I realise it is a fiery water outlet!
MoT!
Van Chips!
Early Train!
Derby!
And a loaf!
Buzzing on Bored!
Now we had the finger kebabs last night, with some ritz crackers topped with spreading cheese! Very tasty, but as usual, with the cocktail bangers, how come cats cannot eat bangers! Our first cat would shoulder me, and want a banger, but could never get it eaten. Now our empress is all the same!
The Finger Kebabs were taken with fiery fizzy waters as we watched the mariners on the box, while the pad was tuned into the hatters! Good evening was had! Now waiting for the goooooooners later!
Was up at sparrows and off to the gym this morning. Trimmed and getting beach ready! back to where I was pre lock jaws!
Passport was sent for renewal, so I am ready for the off! Europe looks off at the moment?
Came back to sort breakfast and had banger, best back, mushrooms, toms, poached egg toast and a mug of tea!
Now sat with my mug of tea and some gems of midgets!
Jen sends her buzz!
Keep safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!13 -
I don't think OH wants a cure for this mouse. He's trying to make it a pet. Very worrying but don't have the energy to sort it out at the moment. I haven't seen it or any evidence of it......AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....

Another lost post late last night so for Friday : nice dog walks, started the dolls house renovation, stayed dry, got a lovely delivery of a hamper and worked late at night creating a winter wonderland at work. For today :
Popped down to work for 20 minutes.Tidied up! There was ‘stuff’ in every blooming room so it’s tidy again. Was rainy most of day but now it’s very cold and will be most likely a frost in the morning.Sending DD1 a birthday message as it will be her birthday in Australia already!Had RTC bhajis and Samosa for my tea.Alarm clock set for very silly o’clock! When it will be very brrrrrrrr❄️❄️❄️14 -
ah yes admiral not the stationery shop at all. The Speedwell had a fiery landlady called Mrs Mennies and the name lives on
1) no alarm set today, didn't wake till nearly 9, lazy morning complete with deep bubbly bath and book
2) Leicester game with Dr M, a sad game for foxes. Dr M bought me lunch which was very nice
3) he went off to his garden, I went home to walk the boys, beautiful afternoon
4) gbf came round and we went to the Cathedral for a very interesting talk followed by refreshment then I had a go at cycling to light up the lights on the christmas tree outside our neighbouring church
5) then he came home for an impromptu supper
clear sky, definitely chillier, off to bed with my book 'Lies to tell' based partly in DundeeMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) The central heating came on in the middle of the night. This is a first for us (never had any until August this year) so was exciting - and it woke us up.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to my sister's for tea and cake for my dad's birthday.
4) Smaller son's local football team won again. They are really on a roll. He hopes to go to the match in Hereford with a school friend next weekend.
5) Phoned my school friend.
6) In bed with a cup of tea and 1hwb, ready to watch Casualty.11 -
For yesterday,
Enjoyed my usual Saturday lie-in.
A very grey day but not so cold, pottered around in the garden whilst keeping up a relay of tennis balls for small dog to chase.
Watched an interesting programme about an archaeological dig at the Althorp estate where they were looking for evidence of an Anglo Saxon village, very pertinent.
Luckily my grill and hob are still working so tea was snorkers with baked beans.
The last two episodes of Dalgleish, it’s been v good even if the sexist & homophobic language makes you wince at times but I guess true to the books and the era it was written in.12
