That's poor, Happycas. Sorry to hear that.
Good news re the hat, VJsmum!
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) First cold day and the car was frozen over. Had a morning of invigilating.
4) Popped to Waitrose afterwards for nice chicken shawarma. Had that for tea with left over roast veg.
5) Smaller son very jolly today.
6) New neighbour called by for a chat (downhill man). They (like uphill neighbour) have bought a house that turns out to have very many things wrong with it. New oil tank and base for starters, then new boiler plus the roof is leaking in 3 places. It turns out that his partner works in an establishment that (I think) VJsmum once stayed in, locally to me!
7) About to watch I'm a Celebrity.

Many congratulations to our stylish hat wearer VJS.
For yesterday,
Beautiful, skittish racehorses heading up to the gallops.
I made my own horse jump, she was asleep in the sun as I walked up to her paddock and opened the gate, she spun and charged over to greet me, never fails to amaze me when they go from zero to full on in a split second.
Chatting with my bf as we both cleared our ironing pile.
Tasty tea, sweet & sour prawn stir-fry with extra cashews coz they are my favourite.
Let small dog out for last visit to garden, moon shining above but mist lying on the ground, wonderfully spooky.13 -
Enjoying our holiday in Derbyshire.
Drove up over the dales past Buxton to a pub I had read about on another thread with amazing Christmas 🎄 decorations and had a huge 3 roast 🦃 dinner 😋
Back through glorious countryside and the most stunning sunset skies.
Off to Chatsworth at Christmas 🎄 today.
Have a great day all.14 -
Good morning! Think I fell asleep before posting anything last night. Was in my bed very early.Busy day at work yesterday, excellent tips. Home and quick walk with doggy. Chat with son. Bowl of soup for tea then bed.
Up and an in at work for 5.45am this morning so a very quick doggy walk at 5.30am and just about to go another one shortly. Currently dry and rather optimistically hung out a washing which won’t dry fully but better than hanging around on a clothes horse all day!Have a lovely day and congratulations we have another Doctor in the house!12 -
Doctor, in a Hat!
DD Who? Just think if the Gooooooners had sacked Arteta weeks back!! I always think of Hoss Muck when they come on! Mariners on the listen box tonight, so could be Scrabble as well!
Buxton! They have still waters there!
The Hens are alright!
Carrot, pineapple katsoup chicken curry! Must be a see that! One does curry here, all start with the Korma base and then added as required! Tikka, add tom puree! Jalfrezi, add lots of chilli as well! End of!
Ships Logs Updated!
Watched another flix last night that was recorded to the box last November! On the Town! Fruit juices and cheeses were taken, and some cocoa!
Had poodles with mushrooms in Cow Mei sauce last night for dinner and then another mince pie!
Tuck the Albatross to her work this morning and broke her long standing speed record on the way! She is distraught over it that without trying, I knocked over a minute off it, and that was after defrosting the wheels!
Then into the town to pick up my new gogs! Found they took the discount card and whacked a night off in town from the price! Friday is going to be at the fiery waters store!
Then home and Empress has been all over her dad! She missed him I think!
That is all!
Jen sends a Buzz!
Keep Safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!13 -
Just waiting on my tea…should just be another 10 minutes or so!In at work early. But home by 7.30am
Went for breakfast at one of our local castles. Sat for ages. I just love the views. Good catch up with DD2. As I’ve said before we can be like ships in the night! She works. She’s tired. I work. I’m tired. So it’s nice to spend some time on our day off.Home and warm jackets on and a dog in the car and off we went to the beach, a tad blustery but beautiful. Blue sky and sunshine at beach. Grey clouds at home. Doggy had a good runaround as there were no other doggies. Good to get fresh air in lungs after two long hot days at work.Home and potter, potter. Caught up on I’m a Celeb as I pottered around.Dinner is too good to go sausages, roast parsnips and potatoes, carrots and cabbage and sugar snap peas.Parboiled parsnips that were RTC. Now in the freezer. And chopped the too good to go veg pack so that’s in the freezer and will be transformed into Christmas Day soup!Have a nice evening 😊14 -
Happycas, we were burgled a few years ago, the way I see it is I am glad we weren’t in as ironically; we should have been.
Congratulations Vjsmum
Paulie lovely photos. Ohhh sparkly.
A couple for yesterday
1 A pleasure the lounge wall is washed once it’s painted, tomorrow that’s it we are done in here.
2 Cooked up sausages and cabbage.
3 A slice of cake utterly delicious.
For today
1 Up early this morning and got my phone calls to do list done, doctors and chasing a missing order which has arrived a half tonne of litter shuffled through the house to the storage shed which has precisely zero bags in as I used the last today so good timing, but a little bit quirky this one. I ordered a half tonne of wood pellets, and at the end of the order you get a chance to enter a competition I didn’t think much of it as they now have my details so entered and won, but they didn’t tell me until the tonne of litter arrived today. Which don’t get me wrong is lovely, wonderful but was somewhat unexpected as we then needed to move 65 15kg bags from the front drive around to the back.
2 Plundered on absolutely determined to finish this decorating, the first coat went on earlier today, as it took an age to dry the second coat is tomorrow and DH want’s a third coat as well hmm - so that will also be tomorrow.
We have a person who wants to buy our place, and we gave it serious thought as that is part of the reason, why we are decorating but we aren’t ready just yet but then I circle around and think actually this may be just right, and so the thought process keeps whirling.
3 Booked in a tip run for next week, dragging the place into a sort of shape as a lot of waste bags have accumulated along the side of the house where no one dares go, I am working on an assumption that every house has a clutter area, but suspect I might be wrong, as my brother would go to the tip with one item!
4 Using food from the freezer today was a cooked chicken bit in roll for lunch and faggots with the obligatory mash and cabbage for dinner.
5 Watching Kielder water programme.

1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to college. Bigger son sent me a message that he was in Ikea!
3) Hens OK.
4) Went to Floody City to do some Christmas shopping before the college pick up. First time I have been round the shops (apart from charity shops) for about 2 years. Got presents for bigger son, his girlfriend plus Advent calendars.
5) Smaller son went out with my brother to watch the football in the pub. This was the first evening he has been out (without me) for 2 years so I did nothing except watch GBBO.
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity.13 -
