1. Started thinking about all things Christmas today. In my defence, I am due to expel a human being from my person between 28th November and 26th December so it is simply prudent to plan now! I have made a budget. This year I have budgeted around £600 including food, drinks, activities, kids presents and extended family. It seems like a ludicrous figure, but then I will still need to watch it carefully. It's the 13 year old who is the big cost centre (bah humbug indeed)
2. In light of that I ordered my first gifts for our parents. Fairly modest - 12X8 framed professional prints of DS (19 mo). I paid for the digital image and then ordered through Jessops photos which saved me £25 vs the packages offered. I miss the spinning Martin Lewis emoji (you'll have to imagine it)
3. Good day at work including a good training session (attending, not delivering, for a change)
4. Lentil bolognese, garlic bread and salad for supper. And then lemon cake to celebrate my birthday (albeit one day early)
5. DH did the kitchen and let me chilll in bed. I made use of the time by sending off some evidence for our £100 NI spending vouchers. They couldn't verify we live here apparently

On holiday - due to broken baggage belts at Stansted arrived 24 hours late. Very unhelpful at the airport and told wrong information but pleasures
1. Hotel we stayed in - after over 6 hours of queuing at airport let us back in to sit and were told if we were quick we could help ourselves to another breakfast. Much enjoyed.
2. Relaxing and being warm. I've still got a cold and cough and becoming breathless with the coughing.. Warmth will help as will no stress of work.
3. Swimming in the sea twice. Not expecting too in October in France.
4. Met friends for a catch up and bbq here. Good to see them
5. Reading books.12 -
Sorry to hear about your little one PK, hugs.
For yesterday,
Over to see poorly pony, thankfully she seemed more comfortable and I gave her a soothing groom. Had a nice chat with an American lady who was visiting the yard, she told me about the ponies she had growing up on a farm in the states.
Home and a neighbour had dropped off a mis-delivered parcel, our new Postie has yet to realise where we are! The parcel had come from Neals Yard and I love their products but their prices can be ouchie, timed right I can get the winter box for £25 and it’s a yearly treat.
My nephews 21st birthday and DSIL had done a video collage of his life so far, lovely memories.
A new series of Shetland, one of my favs.
Beautiful full moon, a Hunters moon which made me think of the cat on the trail cam.

I got Christmas Chronicles last year from WHSmith half price and loved it so much bought one for gbf as an early christmas present. I then bought 2 gnomes (for indoors) one red the other slate grey - they sit either end of my mantlepiece and are called Nigel and Slater - I found the book a lovely mix of reminiscing about christmas as a child and recipes, many of which i only cooked in my mind. I loved counting all the different types of berries on the hedges and trees on my walks
For yesterday
1) last of the yummy green thai lentil curry and last of the naan bread, half for lunch, half for supper - will defo make both again
2) went to see the Leicester match despite 3:30 kick-off - handed over chairing a meeting to my deputy, wrote her the agenda and I think actually (not least cos I've taken back a University leadership role so need to shed some things) good for me, her and the programme. I wrote the agenda in a way that the minute could just be added to the agenda for efficiency
3) 2pm meeting ended a bit late but fortunately mum and dd2 had gone to mr t for dog food and milk and mum was just back so able to give me a lift to mennies so I arrived seconds before KO - dr m was already there with the tv on and a pot of tea
4) after a very exciting match (and pot of tea each first half and second half) we walked home to respective houses and work saying we'd both be a bit late for the 8pm with Mr G.
5) got my report finished at 8:10, emailed and back to mennies - Mr G was already there, Dr M arrived after me, another exciting match, this time with cider then home to listen to The Life Scientific with Tim Spector and zzzzzz.MrsSD declutter medals 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐12 -
Jen sends a Buzz for the Ferret!
Lentils, No No No No No No No No! Not proper food! If you are to do Spag Bol, do the squirty tom version! Usual mix of whatever you want, then near the end of the cooking, add the whole cherry toms! Whip round for three minutes and serve. Best served with young people as they squirt everywhere!
2 minute wait for a train! Timing!
I once had a hotel on Oxford Street!
MHags! You got it in one!
15 to go!
More from the ship to shore radio!
Had the final of the chicken last night in another stir fry with fake saffron rice! Served with a hoisin sauce and sliced peppers. Good for us. Chocolate wafer was also consumed!
Shot off to the discount surplus store for provisions! We used to use the W, but not any more! I have done a comparison over the last few weeks and i have spent £485.79 there against £745.34 since September 9th! The chicken was certainly better value and there was no excess water in the beast! The savings mean the Albatross got her honey bourbon!
Got home and I had a reversion! We watched TED. The unrated version, not suitable for &, and consumed some fiery fizzy water! Empress had her treats and cuddles!
Now I have my sour grapes and cheese with a lug of tea!
Keep safe all!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -

Hello. It’s been a most beautiful day here.Fire is on ( hurrah me) , candle lit and my new book has just arrived ( The Christmas Chronicles!) treated myself. So I’m going to peruse the start of it then go day to day ( I think)
An early start with a vomiting dog, though thankfully made it outside in time. Huge big moon and stars in the sky. I take my pleasures where and when I can 😆
Cars were iced so had to defrost them first.
Then DD2 had to drop her car off at garage so I collected her. Had a nice doggy with us and we went to the beach. The tide was so far out and we had a good walk.Dropped dog at home and then went to one of our local castles and had breakfast. Just the most stunning morning. Bright blue sky. Everything just seemed to be in technicolour! The trees. The sky. The grass. Then went to next village from castle and got a birthday card. Then home for a little while before going back to collect DD2 car. She is now skint!Fire on and just all cosy.Beautiful sky this evening. We’d a big rainbow then sky all pink. Now starting to get dark.Had steak pie for tea with roast potatoes and parsnips and carrots, broccoli and the never blooming ending red cabbage…still have some left!Early start tomorrow so will be early bed tonight. So think I might just put one more log on then let it all fizzle out. It’s been a good day.12
